[UPDATE 3:44 p.m.: Good News] Equipment Fire Near Honeydew
A little after 3 p.m., a piece of commercial equipment started on fire in the Honeydew area near the intersection of Reynolds and Mattole Roads.
An air attack, Tanker 96, and a helicopter are responding to the scene from the skies and Honeydew Fire Department is responding from the ground.
According to the air attack, the fire is contained to the vehicle and not spreading to vegetation.
Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.
UPDATE 3:44 p.m.: Everything is cancelled except one engine, according to Cal Fire Division Chief Isaac Lake.

Can’t let our guard down yet. Please be Uber careful. Just a few more inches of rain. Then we can use fire again. Clean chimneys, prep piles, get control lines established if you want to burn acreage. Get help from neighbors. Sure they’d rather pitch in, then you can help them burn when their ready.
