2021 Apple Harvest Festival Canceled

This is a press release from the Fortuna Chamber:

After meeting and planning for several weeks, the Apple Harvest Festival Committee has decided to not hold the Apple Harvest Festival this year. We had hoped that we could pull off a limited and safe event, but do not feel that is possible.

The first Apple Harvest Festival began in 1985 as a celebration of fall and farming, and with the participation of Fortuna merchants has grown to be a town-wide and family-centered event that we all look forward to. We look forward to holding this event in future years.

Apple and local produce season is here, and Clendenen’s Cider Works, along with Fortuna’s business community, are alive and well. Come shop Sunny Fortuna this Fall!

Thanks to all our supporters and customers,

Clif & Drew Clendenen for the Apple Harvest Festival committee

Article didn’t say one thing about vaccine, what gives? I thought it was lack of apples due to drought, climate change.

I feel bad that the festival is cancelled. It really is a fun well planned event with lots of participation. But under the circumstances , cancellation is the right thing to do. The hospitals welcome that decision too.

So sorry that the festival had to be cancelled once again! I’d like to thank the committee for putting the welfare of people first. These are trying times. We would all like things to be “back to normal”.
