Covelo Homicide Suspects Remain At Large After Spotted Last Night in Fort Bragg; Woman Arrested for Helping Him

Dino Michael Blackbear, the 34-year-old Covleo man suspected of a Covleo homicide on Wednesday night, remains at large in the area of Fort Bragg after law enforcement searched for him yesterday evening, as confirmed by Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten.
Captain Van Patten said deputies are “still searching with roaming patrols at this time as he was believed to have escaped the search area last night.”
Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m. a vehicle pursuit with Blackbear gave way to a foot chase in the area of the 31000 block of Chestnut Street in Fort Bragg. A shelter-in-place order was sent to nearby residents as deputies combed the area looking for Blackbear.

Also, a female was arrested associated with the incident. We initially reported that, though unconfirmed, the female could very likely be 32-year-old Covelo woman Carina Amanda Carrillo because she was reported by MCSO to have fled the scene of Wednesday night’s suspected homicide accompanying Blackbear.
That presumption was incorrect. In fact, the woman arrested in association with last night’s vehicle pursuit and the subsequent manhunt was 23-year-old Caytlin Marie Collicott, as confirmed by Captain Van Patten. The booking logs state she was arrested for harboring or concealing or aiding a “principal wanted in a felony.”

A woman using the name Caytlin Collicott posted on stories about Blackbear’s arrest that she was his fiancée.
Dino Michael Blackbear and Carina Amanda Carrillo are leading suspects in a homicide that occurred outside of a Covelo bar late on September 15, 2021. That evening an unidentified male was shot in the neck outside of the Buckhorn Bar and later died. The pair reportedly left the scene together and law enforcement has been searching since.
Dino Michael Blackbear (AKA Lincoln) is reportedly 6′, 220 pounds, and has black hair, and brown eyes. He was seen last night wearing a gray shirt with no hat nor shoes.
Blackbear has been referred to as “armed and dangerous.” Residents are encouraged to stay safe and vigilant. If he is spotted, please, get to a safe location and contact 911.

And how do you stop this when people choose to use it. Blaming the Sheriff for a person using drugs is stupid! Are you in on every bust, do you do anything to help? Stopping this flow of drugs at the border would make a big difference. All of the bleeding hearts,that let these “low level, non-violent” offenders out of jail could prevent this. There is land to confiscate and safes to crack, yet with hard drugs there is no money in it.. the Sheriff Department lacks financial incentive. You can stand at the borders all day long in your political mindscape, but the hard drugs like heroine are flying in from Afghanistan and Middle East on US Military planes. The Sheriff Deputies tip off their family and dealer friends when the heat is coming. The same deputies who sale confiscated pounds on the black market look after their large scale dealer friends. Instead of covering up lets shed some light on the multigenerational disfunction of this family and how these hard drugs are harming our youth and community in Willits and Mendocino County. Lets demand our Sheriff Department focuses on the meth and heroin elephant in the room instead of just greedily looking for asset forfeiture dollars and pounds to steal.

Why is she out? Recently arrested numerous times on SERIOUS charges. Clearly has substance issues. Has a new lil baby she abandoned to drugs. Well now she will have some time to chew on the issues. Sad shit.
Meth is so gross. Take a beautiful young woman like this, add poison relentlessly. After a while her young body is trying so hard to eject the toxins that it’s pushing it out through holes in her face. I can’t help but think that even a brief respite from it while in jail, while miserably painful, would let her body cry in relief.
Not to mention that the whole lifestyle leads people to engage with lowlife murderers. Yikes.

Sad indeed.. Caytlin is my daughter.. I have worked to no end to help her through the bad situation she is in.. meth is the devil.. it’s easy fir all the outside world to poke fun and say what they want.. there is a story behind everyone.. I’m sure you all ate perfect but some are not.. please be compassionate to everyone.. it’s not easy to see pictures like this.. if anyone would like to discuss this face to face I would welcome it!
