About 1:48 a.m. this morning a fire broke out off of Redwood Drive north of Redway. Flames climbed into trees sending showers of sparks down onto the dry ground.

Firefighters from multiple agencies including Redway Fire, Garberville Fire, Briceland Fire and Cal Fire responded.

According to Jeremy Ward, CalFire HUU Battalion Chief, “Forward progress has stopped.” He said that the firefighters stopped the blaze at “less than a quarter acre.”
Firefighters are still in the area this morning completing the hard work of making sure that the fire is completely out.

What a difference 12 hours can make. 12 hours earlier it was hot and dry. Thanks to all of you who responded.
One fly away ember can land anywhere. Everything is hot & dry from now on, till the rains come. Pray & Dance for rains to come early. Stay present & alert.
I am left wondering if this is the local fire bug again. A big thank you to all the firefighters and other people helping snuff that fire out.
Oh don’t worry they had a fire safety community meeting and everything’s fine now, don’t you feel safe?

These firefighters are our only hope. Gratitude is a better vibe .
I agree with “for sure”- their “face-palm” emoji needed to be a bit tighter over the mouth area.
I have no problem with the firefighters, maybe I worded that wrong, the firefighters were invited. My problem is with those in charge who constructed the meeting with no outcome. If you like I could keep quiet and just cross my fingers and hope for the best with our county leadership that seems like a deer in the headlights.
Maybe ask the questions you need answered? Every word & action either adds to the sum total of good energy or bad energy…this is our world, and let’s keep it in a positive direction… We can’t change many things, but we can control our own personal energies.

We’re asking because if there’s another one, we need to be sure to not miss it.
