[ UPDATE 1 a.m.] Fire Reported on Green Diamond Land Near McKinleyville
A McKinleyville resident reported a fire burning on Green Diamond land east of McKinleyville in the area of Sutter and Azalea about 12:25 a.m.
She reports, “I am up on a hill and can see it across from me in the dark, under the fog. Looks to be already an acre.”
According to scanner traffic, some firefighters are hiking off of Dragonfly Drive into the nearby brushy area trying to get their eyes on the reported fire. Some are gathering off Central Avenue at Murray Road. Access is expected to be difficult.

UPDATE 1 a.m.: All mutual aid resources are being cancelled. But there are still firefighters attempting to locate the fire.

wiener roast gone awry
I just spoke with someone at the mckinleyville fire station and she informed me that they have spotted smoke coming from the area but are still working on finding the location of the fire. They are working with cal fire and officials from green diamond.
