Data Reporting Delayed Due to High Case Volume; Update Expected Tomorrow

novel coronavirus Covid-19 HumboldtPress release from the County of Humboldt:

Daily reporting of the most recent local COVID-19 data has been delayed due to short staffing and the high number of positive cases being processed. Humboldt County Public Health estimates that more than 90 individuals have tested positive since the most recent report Friday. A full update of the daily, weekly and monthly datasets on the Humboldt County Data Dashboard is expected to be included in tomorrow’s report.

Due to the recent record-breaking surge in positive cases and a reduction in state-assigned staff following California’s full reopening in June, Public Health has changed the way it handles COVID-19 case investigations. A case investigator will still attempt to contact each individual who tests positive to conduct an initial interview and will assign the case as priority or low risk. If the case is determined to be a priority due to its high potential for spread among a vulnerable population, a case investigator will follow up with the person’s close contacts and check in on their status throughout their isolation period.

Under the revised process, when a case is deemed low risk, Public Health will provide information about appropriate medical care and what a person who tested positive should do if symptoms develop or worsen then clear the case from additional tracking, often the same day it is reported. Cases will also be cleared when county residents who test positive do not respond to repeated contacts or refuse to participate in the contact tracing process. Cleared cases may be reopened if contact is made later with someone who had previously not responded to outreach.

To reflect this change in practice, the “Recovered” metric on the Humboldt County Data Dashboard will be renamed “Cases Cleared,” which is defined as the cumulative total of confirmed cases that are no longer being actively tracked by Humboldt County Public Health case investigations teams.

As case rates increase, residents are encouraged to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible. All available vaccines are highly effective at preventing severe outcomes, hospitalizations and death from COVID-19. Vaccine is available by appointment and to walk-ins at Public Health vaccination clinics located throughout the county, and most local pharmacies also offer COVID-19 vaccines. See the Public Health clinic schedule for the next seven days below, and sign up in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov.

William Shakespeare was the first man to receive the “vaccine” in the UK ……….dead now. Coincidence?

I’m sure in about a week and a half we are going to see lockdowns again, not too many deaths so i guess we’ll have to see how they justify it.

The spike in deaths is slightly overdue, look at the last spike in the UK if you’re looking for potential answers.

For one, the upswing in cases here is happening now. Hospitalization rates rising would be a few weeks out. You could have an upsurge in cases without the deaths if the vaccine helps reduce severe cases, and/or the Delta variant is milder(despite spreading easier) overtime viruses tend to evolve milder. Killing a host too quick can be a dead end, evolutionarily, for the virus

The flu is still infecting and killing people, you don’t say, hasn’t this gone on for centuries? But we’re gonna put a stop to it, crack me up. Along with California green policies, they will stop global warming, crack me up, over half the population falls for this bs, crazy.

These “so called leaders” work for you…. stop letting them lead you down “Their” rabbit hole. This “Pandemic” scare can only go on so long. It’s time to end it.

Get a grip. Any reasonable measure to reduce virus capacity to mutate and spread is a good step. Back b4 the vacs, the CDC was spot-on in boiling messaging to “slow the spread”. But they did and still do a lousy job at explaining it at 8th grade (NY Times) reading level. Seriously reducing bad covid-illness and level of infectiousness (vs moderate or mild of each) is a rolling hiccuping process. In hindsight, society blew chunks by not somehow mandating vaccination starting back in April. Coulda been a one month timeframe to vax. 95+% of the country. Boom. Instead, 100 million remained unvaxxed for months. Vaxxes are far from perfect, but FACT is they protect critical parts of the body, reducing severity, shortening illness = less contagious to others. THIS is what the CDC was unable to explain, and that once the train gets rolling amongst the masses it can go from slow jog-along speed to fast phucking steamrolling freight train. A slow train is much easier and faster to slow down than a fast train with all the human mass and weight behind it. Hope this visual helps.

Oh don’t worry! If you’re vaccinated you can do anything- even jump off buildings!! Go into crowds and breathe on everybody- just like the old days. Laugh and spit out corn and beer…..only the unvaccinated can get sick and they all deserve to die anyway since they are irresponsible and they don’t care about us while WE are smart and considerate! For us vaccinated people it’s just Party Party Party!! And nothing can possibly go wrong….

It’s absolutely okay to gather and go on about our business. Former President Obama is having a 60th Birthday bash in his $12 million dollar mansion with over 500 guests, including Steven Spielberg and many other elites with Pearl Jam performing live this weekend. If it’s okay for “they” to go about daily life with no fear, it’s definitely okay for “we” to go about our daily lives, despite what the Left’s Propaganda Machine is telling us. None of the elites are following the science. They’re manipulating it to suit their agenda.

Meanwhile, in the nation’s capital, murders are outpacing Covid deaths 3 -1.

Chicago had 51 shootings, 8 of which were fatalities and 3 Covid deaths over the weekend.

Interesting that both of those cities have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

they don’t have as many staff because there’s not enough funding because monied interests used disinformation to sow resistance to lockdown measures (that were themselves insufficient due partially to the entrenched monied interests and partially due to the novelty of the virus) which resulted in politicians and public health officials making official declarations that cut off access to those funds. the emergency isn’t over just because somebody lifts a declaration, but the emergency funding is over, dig?

Good question Willie,
I know where you’re going with this because I was wondering the same thing.

You’re wondering if they got the J&J,
I bet right?

Because they never did disclose their efficacy numbers for Delta.

And it might not even be 50%.

That’s what I was thinking.

(I think Chris got the J&J.)

That’s why he’s, (she’s), stressing, trying to get everyone else to get jabbed.

Chris ain’t worried about anybody else, Chris is worried about Chris. That’s it.

Too bad, so sad, should have got a double jab.

Looked and looked.

The best I could find is that J&J’s efficacy against Delta was comparative to Astra Zeneca
@ only 33%.

J&J are trying to use lab tests for their conclusions. Not cool.

Slotted Head,

Yer stammering.

You keep trying to get it right, I’ll give you that, and you’re not a quitter.

Would that be a J&J side effect, or an mRNA drawback?

J&J is what I figured.

Do tell.

You advocate the jab.

What did you get stuck with?

There’s a 33% chance associated with an answer, I figure.

Should we be banking on a breakthrough?

If I’m proving to be such the coward, why is it you that won’t even admit which jab you supposedly got?

Or that even if you did, how you will be just as potentially infectious as if you hadn’t, and how all that saving Granny tripe, is pure hogwash.

Let’s hear it.

Once will be sufficient.

It doesn’t have to be
re-repeated.

I should probably just admit defeat.

You win.

I give up.

Pfizer, April. If you were half as informed as you want to be you’d know it’s was the predominant jab in Hum.

[edit]

I’m guessing most of the actual hippy progressives, the real ones who were there in the late 60’s and 70’s, the real back-to-the-landers (not the punks of today) got the shot. But some won’t admit, in part cuz of folks like you. You see, those older folks have been around the block in life. They know, for their own well being and that of extended fam and the common good. You, no – still at first base.

people like you are why children that are beating cancer are going to die anyway. and people like you will have a temper tantrum if you find out that those children are counted as dying from covid and not cancer.

overpaid? how much are the vaccinated staff at fox news paid to lie to their viewers about the vaccine? how much is congress paid to go on vacation three months out of the year? you’re out here whining about people making less than a quarter million? hell, probably less than six figures?

lemme guess, if somebody talks about taxing the super rich at eisenhower era rates, you start simping on their behalf about how those billionaires worked hard for their money.

so grossed out by humans already and it’s not even 10:00 am.

The current data suggests that both vaccinated and not vaccinated folks can spread the disease. Maybe you are the one who is going to infect the vulnerable.

vaccinated people are less likely to get covid, less likely to spread it, significantly less likely to experience symptoms, and overwhelmingly less likely to require hospitalization.

you’re correct that poor messaging from the CDC and the news media has resulted in a lot of vaccinated people erroneously believing that “this is better than what was happening” means “everything is back to normal for you.” that said, unvaccinated people are the principle source of spread. the emergence of variants that are less affected by the vaccine is the result of those people combined with the government’s refusal to provide sufficient support for people so we could have done a smarter lockdown.

however, i was referring to that person’s overall attitude about the thing. the current data suggests that you’re working with incomplete data and are trying to get some sort of “gotcha” on me. sorry, friend. not today.

Horrible reporters are ignoring real news.

How about the kids being anxious about another disgusting school year in masks causing massive social and physical harm due to those infected face coverings.

How about Fauci announcing that the vaccinated have the same amount of transmission as a the non vaccinated.

Stop hiding the truth Kym!!

Where did the virus (really) come from?

What contracts have governments made with such vaccine distribution?
