Facial Coverings To Be Required In All County Facilities

Mask Wearing Required posterPress release from the County of Humboldt:

With the emergence of the more contagious Delta variant in California, which rapidly increased to over 80% of cases in California in the past weeks, the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are rising again throughout the state. This is especially true amongst those that remain unvaccinated. Despite ongoing outreach and improving COVID-19 vaccine access, as of late July, a significant proportion of Humboldt County residents are not yet fully vaccinated.

It is with all this in mind that universal masking in indoor public settings is now recommended again by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Humboldt County Public Health. Universal masking in public adds an extra precautionary measure for all to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, especially in communities currently seeing the highest transmission rates, such as ours. Changes in recommendations like these are not taken lightly but are necessary to protect the public, stop spread of the disease among the unvaccinated, and keep our institutions fully functioning.

The recent surge in cases in Humboldt County poses a real threat not only to our community, but also to the county’s own ability to provide vital services.

As such, beginning tomorrow, Friday, July 30 the county will be requiring all employees and members of the public to wear a mask while inside county facilities, even those who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This is a mandatory requirement, not a recommendation.

While masks can be a big help immediately, getting vaccinated is the real key to getting our community fully reopened safely and back to enjoying all the things we love to do in Humboldt County. We are now in the midst of a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

Well, maybe he will stop responding to overturned trucks, missing people, meth peddlers, drunks, domestic violence, and people that get themselves into crazy situations, …. and walk you personally everywhere you go so you don’t run into an unmasked person.

He can then arrest them and take you personally with him, so you can be sure they are jailed.
Would that be enough for you?

Jeez

Sorry but , please occasionally consider priorities.

So you are saying they are understaffed or else they would enforce masks being worn?

I agree he should not be activity arresting for mask violations, but please enlighten as to anything you listed that his horribly failed policies have actually done. He is a disgrace to the badge.

Okay, I’ve been injected with two shots of a genetically modified substance that was supposed to protect me and others around me from the covid-19 virus….

Oh crap! I give up… I’m going to a wear mask when someone asks me nicely, but when they tell that I’m going wear one whether I like it or not… I doubt that will get them anywhere.

What the hell do you expect people to do when the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) won’t give an approval for these shots. How many people trust anything that “Our Government” does for us anymore? I would tell you how I really feel but they probably put me on a no fly list.

Some people do t mind getting dragged along by our so called experts. They haven’t been right about anything related to this virus and it shows because they keep flip flopping around.

People need to understand that all these experts are peddling are scientific theories not scientific facts. They have no clue what they are doing

its important to be able to read the writing. the right wing media outlets have left you all bitter and blind. this is a pandemic, in which changes everyday, and therefore our actions must also change with it. the history books will reflect on the abundance of stupid statements during this period. the irony is who are the actual fear mongers.

Local observer, I think that the irony is the social/political left wing, going along with government authority.
I thought you folx were supposed to be the rebels, not the squares.
Looks like the times really have changed

So why do you think the county has called for all employees working from home to return to the office in August? The home offices have been very effective and are far safer than putting 400 social services workers back in one big building that has air forced throughout the whole building with old, rarely changed filters so that everyone is exposed to everyone, both staff and clients.

I would like to hear a report from DHHS Director Connie Beck why she thinks it is now safe to take this action to bring employees and clients back and just wear masks with the new variant being so much more destructive and contagious. Does she plan to take personal responsibility for those possible deaths caused by this seemingly unwise decision?

She/”they” are reading from a script to continue getting a paycheck – those who don’t need their paycheck all that much have left/are leaving. (CAO, Sheriff, HR, Auditor, many departments.) They’re oppressive environments to say the least.

The county simply does not care about the health of the workforce one bit.

Gavin Newsom, under a recall, just invited all homeless in the USA to come to Ca.
I didn’t hear him say they had to be jabbed and tested.
Does that include everyone that has crossed the border?
Where will we get the water for the home/apt. hookups?

anyway….

If you can’t ask questions, it’s propaganda.

Great idea! A corporate lawyer-turned-right-wing-radio-host will SURELY be less friendly to corporate interests than well-known Marxist Gavin Newsome! And look how well the right-wing populist governments of India, Brazil, England and Indonesia handled coronavirus! We can’t lose!

Seriously, though, unless Schwarzenegger wants to run again, no republican candidate will stand a chance in hell of getting elected in California. Nor should they.

Right wing populist countries opposed to left wing populist countries like Italy, Spain or Sweden, Cuba or Venezuela? Or do you mean just right wing countries like Singapore, Japan or Isreal? Or will you just admit that populist countries of any stripe always would have a harder time with things like lockdowns, border controls and public health mandates because- ta da- people want different things and resist being restrained. Otherwise they would just be like China or New Zealand where lockdowns are enforced by hauling off recalcitrant citizens to jail? Most people just want feel safe and only in places without diverse competing populations who worry about rights can impose restrictions without worrying about dealing with those who object.

It’s called a mnemonic device

Mnemonic devices are techniques a person can use to help them improve their ability to remember something. In other words, it’s a memory technique to help your brain better encode and recall important information.
