‘My Family Got COVID After Being Vaccinated’–a Guest’s Perspective

Taylor and Daniel Stein

Daniel Stein, who provides fresh produce at the Garberville and Briceland Farmer’s Markets and is a cannabis cultivator, wrote about his family’s experience with COVID. At our request, he is sharing it with our readers here in our Guest Column/Letter to the Editor spot on Redheaded Blackbelt.

Hey all. Myself and my family recently had a bout with Covid and I thought it would be valuable to share my experience with y’all. Taylor and I are both Vaccinated. We received our second dose of the Pfizer vaccine back in April. We continued to do farmer’s market as we had throughout the pandemic and mask and social distance. After June 15th we, like most everyone else in California, started to change our habits. We stopped masking while outdoors and even often while indoors. We started hanging out with small groups of our friends outside our bubble again (thank goodness). At markets we continued to be cautious and sanitize our hands regularly, keep distance when possible, etc. It was Seeming like we were past the worst of the pandemic and on the up and up. People seemed to be over it entirely and back to normal life.

I don’t know where I could have been infected. I interact with a lot of people in my life. From markets to restaurants to grocery stores and the post office. Most places I have been lately either myself or others are not wearing a mask. I never was in contact with anyone who was visibly ill or sneezed in my face or anything like that. The folks I had spent time with indoors prior to testing were all vaccinated and have all tested negative. The fact that I can’t point to an obvious vulnerability or point of contact is worrisome and I think points to the increase in the transmissibility of the variants.

I was the one who contracted it and brought it back to our household. As an essential worker I have always continued to work around people even during the height of caution at the beginning of the pandemic. A couple of weeks ago I worked three long hot days in a row around lots of people. I went from pre-dawn to late at night and didn’t get much sleep at all. I was run down and exposed to lots of folks and I think that is the period of time I picked it up. I really don’t know, that’s just what my gut tells me.

There is definitely some truth to the idea that if you can just stay really healthy you are less likely to catch Covid. The reality for most folks is a bit more complicated than that though. I eat really well, exercise, spend most of my time outdoors, and consider myself very healthy in body and mind. Life has unforeseen circumstances. There are stressful days, and nights without sleep, and the challenges of parenting young children, to name a few. Everyone you see is dealing with unseen challenges. I’m not telling anyone what to do or how to be in the world, but this experience has reaffirmed my own personal commitment to do the things I can to prevent the spread of this virus.

The actual experience of being ill with Covid was relatively mild for me. I could feel the potential of it behind the reduced symptoms. I could feel the difference that the vaccine made. It felt like my body had the virus’s play book. Like every time it went to mount a huge surprise attack it was foiled. I kept having the feeling of the symptoms accelerating as if they were about to get really bad and then just kind of mysteriously disappearing. It was an odd feeling and not one I have been used to in fighting flues (I have never gotten a flu shot).

It felt different for me. Similar symptoms, but a different feeling as well, like standing at the edge of a precipice and seeing how far down you could fall. The loss of smell and taste was super disorienting as well, it was the loss of smell early on that alerted me to go get tested. I never had a a fever.

Taylor and the boys caught it from me before I even knew I was sick. For the boys it seemed like a summer cold. Also no fever, and mostly just really plugged noses and headaches. For Taylor is was worse. She had a few nights of almost no sleep when the boys were sick and it got a deeper foothold in her system. She had extreme fatigue, ice pick headaches, intense aches, brain fog, plugged sinuses and also the loss of smell and taste. The symptoms for her lasted a full week and she is still feeling the after effects of it. Like myself, she feels strongly that it would have been a lot worse without the vaccine.

Taylor’s mother, who is vaccinated and also was staying with us during the time we were getting sick, tested negative and never developed illness (thank goodness). Also our farmhands and other friends who were here during a time where exposure was very likely have all tested negative (all of them also had the Pfizer vaccine).

Now we wait to make sure we don’t pass it along. We are self isolating until the end of the month and then quarantining for another 10 days to make sure that we are not carriers. We have been super appreciative for the friends and neighbors who have helped us with meals and grocery store runs. And we are beyond grateful for our stellar farm team who have been keeping the farm running and the veggies harvested and distributed in our absence.

With any luck we will still like each other after three weeks without going anywhere or hanging out with anyone (stir crazy kids are flipping difficult).

My hope in writing this isn’t to scare people or to warn against coming out to enjoy being together as community. I think it is really important we do not isolate too much. We need each other more than ever now. The farmer’s markets and especially our little one in Briceland have been really heartwarming for me and I want them to keep going. I guess I am just hoping to remind you that this is real and there are simple things we can do to slow and even stop the spread of this virus. It is all pretty easy and painless compared to the virus itself. It is not over yet, but by all of us doing our part, it could be over soon. Mask up folks. Get vaccinated if you can. Let’s put this chapter behind us for real!

Feel free to reach out and ask any questions you have for me. Hope our experience helps inform y’all. Be kind and take care of each other out there!

Thank you for taking the time to write this account.

Whether you believe in the vaccine or not, it looks to me like you did everything you could to prevent yourself from getting sick, and from your family having to go through this experience.

I wish you a speedy recovery, and before the discussion veers off track, be safe, be well.

well if it turns out that Dr. John Cambell on Youtube is correct you have a 25 fold less chance of hospitalization and death from Covid-aids.

So I think that bodes well for you vaxxed. We have our own risks being unvaxxed. A good rule of thumb here is to avoid town as much as you can if unvax.

also, its bad indoors but not outdoors, so if you have to meet with people do it outside.

Best wishes Kym — you run a great site!

Still think the TDAP vcxx ivermectin iodine vitamin D zinc are all a must if you aren’t taking the tequila shot… Praying for both “sides”

What a crock. So you got the jab, it didn’t protect you or your family. You should be pissed that you risked your future health for nothing. But instead of calling out the fraud you double down on recommending it to others, and give us some bs about how you could feel it fighting off the disease. Big pharma is raking in the money and laughing all the way to the bank at the brainwashed masses who are making them even richer. Didn’t anyone notice the commercials about the class action lawsuits for the damage caused to people by many of the drugs prescribed by doctors? These corporations do not have a good track record. I don’t understand how this guy is still telling others to be as gullible as he is. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Thank you Daniel. Plainly said. “Get vaccinated if you can.”
I suppose we are in this all together. Unfortunately there are countless candidates for the 2021 Darwin Awards. (See politico article below)
Hopefully the problem with the unvaccinated may take care of itself. But if not, they may just be the incubator reservoir for increasingly lethal varieties of Covids. They will drag lots of folks down the cliff with them. That is how natural selection may also work out for the entire human race.
Perhaps we finally exhausted mother nature’s patience with us on the planet. Especially in brainless quantity.

There are many indicators that the vaccines are not performing as touted by our lying, evil mainstream media. Read the article. Observe the reprised CDC mandates just released yesterday. Watch Biden’s press secretary bumble through questions asking why the new mandates. Watch Biden fumble through everything in his rapidly declining mental state.

They’re losing their grip on us.

Remove your yokes and rise up against these evil authoritarians! It’s time these politicians and the vermin feeding at the government trough fear us! A free people!

You know who else had medical professionals that made lots of claims? The Nazis. A lot of people believe them too just like they believe the medical professionals that said smoking cigarettes was healthy. But hey, somebody motivated for money and power with a lab coat, is all anybody needs to be subjugated. Very interesting how my fellow citizens fall in line with medical totalitarianism for profit and actively propagandize against any information that doesn’t fit the narrative. But hey you do you go get the experimental gene therapy become a walking GMO spreading synthetic spike proteins within the community!

There are over 100,000 doctors and Scientist out there that form front line doctors that are totally against the vaccine. So do you listen to the government and the people that work for them, that have never done anything in your best interest only their own or too doctors and scientists out there that are risking their careers to protect the people? Remember keep an open mind there is always two sides to every story, Don’t just listen to mainstream media dive deep and look for your own information and make a informed decision.

That’s not being independent. You just promote swallowing whole a different authority. The independent person reads and evaluates before adopting someone else’s ideas. And there’s not much wisdom coming from someone who takes it on faith that vaccinated people are using “experimental gene therapy become a walking GMO spreading synthetic spike proteins within the community.” That’s the same words every other anti vaxxer uses without any evidence and certainly none of them came up with it independently. They are just parroting ideas with the same lack of understanding that they complain about in others.

Hello Jim: It does seem that “We The People” Have been lied to by the MSM. Everyday you read conflicting stories Usually out of Israel, Japan, the U.K. ETC. that are way off from each other than our own news and internet sites. Do I personally trust Fauci at all—-NO, do I like Google, Facebook, Twitter etc suspending accounts because THEY/THEM don’t like the content of the message; NO. I go by the time I’ve been on an internet site or T.V. and remember what they said and see how truthful THEY/THEM were over months even years. Some of the commenters are not going to like my next message BUT that guy in Texas to me has one of the most TRUTHFUL sites out there. And yes I listen to CNN and MSNBC and about 30 other sites. One other internet site that I like is RENCE.com—–That site has doctors and nurses coming on and telling it like it is. Shows pictures of blood before the shot and then after the shot. If you haven’t seen them they are still up, you just have go down a bit. But there is a good one today. If those pictures are real WHY would anybody take the jab!!! No wonder people are getting blood clots and dying. “THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE”

Obviously and fortunately you have recovered from a Covid bout.
Alas….

“Almost 20% of Covid patients who recovered were diagnosed with mental illnesses within three months. Harrison, the lead author for both studies, said that the findings lay bare the need for mental health services for the large number of people who may be experiencing symptoms.”

As a prime candidate for the mental health services referred to above you may proceed.

Chances are that many of those 20 percent finally saw a doctor that could diagnose their mental illness that had been inflicting those persons for years.

I don’t know what kind of magical physician you’ve been seeing, but the kind of Dr’s treating Covid aren’t psychologist and do not diagnose mental illness. Most of those people were quarantined at home with no Dr supervision. Come up with some logical BS if you want intelligent people to believe it.

Mostly it is not doctors coming up with the allegation of mental issues. The doctors are just trying to figure out what causes the complaints of their patients who are the ones alleging mental issues. Most of them don’t have medical degrees either.

Show me the studies on mental illness after vaccination.

Somebody is about to say that, that is only possible if they were crazy to begin with.

And I would agree wholeheartedly.

They got the vaccine, didn’t they?

A lot of crazy people got vaccinated.

Like all the other co-morbidities, it probably just made them worse.

Next thing someone won’t address is not getting mental illness, from not getting Covid19 or from the vaccine.

The vaccinated will say that’s crazy, and that will prove they are ones who are crazy.

In order to qualify for a Darwin award over must die before procreating. Given the age of the people in Humboldt who died from complications related to the corona virus it is unlikely any of them were eligible for said award.

That seems to be as much a product of time as anything, and should not be overlooked.

Not to discount the issue of waning efficacy, all things being relative, someone vaccinated for twice as long as someone else will be twice as likely to have developed Covid19.

That seems elementary.

Also, if the oldest ,most vulnerable were vaccinated first, that will make a difference too.

How is twice as long not result in twice as many?

Sounds like they might be jumping to the wrong conclusion, or at least not taking something obvious into consideration.

Probably very few of those that have only just achieved full vaccination for a short period have gotten Covid19.

Stands to reason.

I think the over 65 crowd wasn’t even included in the trials.

Now that it is becoming clear that the efficacy is much lower for the older crowd, they are trying to correct it after the fact.

I believe the mixed message to this story are the lack of actuality’s. Vaccines in general have a low effectiveness rate. Pfizer being among the lowest of the 3 Covid options. Give or take a 50% chance of working. You had the same probability contracting the Virus with or without the shot. Another example would be taking all the money you would normally use to grow weed and place it on Black at the Roulette Table. Instead of losing 100% of that money on weed that is only worth $300 a pound now, you would have a 50% chance of doubling it. Far better odds.

It certainly lacks scientific rigor. But they stopped teaching core science in high school years ago. It took me years to learn as an undergrad. Now I see the mix of politics in the “pandemic science” and it’s deeply disappointing. Never trust a politician and definitely never trust a scientist acting as a politician.

I looked for myself. Pfizers placebo group got vaccinated in March of this year it seems. They began trials in September (?) of last year if memory serves (bold proposition). So we really only got about 6 months in this trial (let’s be generous and call it 9 and assume that I’m wrong about when the trial started).

Those of us who have chosen to avoid these novel injections are doing a great service to humanity by risking our very lives to serve as the control group in this experiment. Hopefully we are relatively evenly dispersed demographically but either way we are all that is left for true science lovers to turn to if they wish to assess these novel pharmaceutical platforms for safety and efficacy

You are right, to the extent that getting vaccinated doesn’t stop Covid entirely. But it greatly reduces your chances of catching it, and is even more effective at preventing hospitalization and death. About 67% of Americans are vaccinated–the other 33% have accounted for 99% of deaths.

Another series of stats without citing a source. Love it. It’s all so scientific that facts no longer matter. Bullshit. The people with natural immunity are doing the best. Delta gamma theta zeta alpha and omega don’t have shit on natural immunity! But my group is not included in the statistics, we literally don’t exist, get vaccinated or else! That’s why all numbers that only contain three groups: vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and not immune at all, are completely bs because the fourth group, natural immunity, is not included.

“Why get vaccinated if it doesn’t stop covid?”

Because it significantly helps prevent it. Why is your standard 100% efficacy?

“It’s called untested medicine it’s moronic to even think about getting shotup with a random slurry of gene altering substances.”

It is not gene altering and not untested.

My thought too. If we get vaccinated. We are not sure it’s safe in its self. Also it makes people get careless about exposure. Then we carry to fragile humans that really get sick. We need to step back and see how these things work out. I will continue to wear my mask and be careful. Not just for myself but the people who are around me.

I’m glad you and your family are getting better now, but why doesn’t anyone wonder why after two years the vaccine has been around and tens of millions of jabs given fda still hasn’t given final approval of any of the vaccines? Why are they waiting till 2022 and only one of the vaccines might get approved then maybe? Simple questions nobody ever answers.

Magical Thinking

Do some digging.

These are front line attempts.

One account I read stated it would take 50 different incarnations of these vaccines until they “get it right.”

If we could devise a effective vax against the corona (read: common cold) we already would have. Use logic.

FDA approval for vaccines involves time. Typically 5-10 years. Or longer.

The polio vax was in research /development over 25y.

Of course science has advanced its techniques but time is the only measure for unforeseen long term impacts.

Keep in mind there are over 6000 medicines and products previously “approved” by the FDA, now recalled or banned.

Their track record sucks.

While I appreciate Daniel sharing this, my hinky meter also went off when I read this :

“could feel the potential of it behind the reduced symptoms. I could feel the difference that the vaccine made. It felt like my body had the virus’s play book. Like every time it went to mount a huge surprise attack it was foiled. I kept having the feeling of the symptoms accelerating as if they were about to get really bad and then just kind of mysteriously disappearing. It was an odd feeling and not one I have been used to in fighting flues (I have never gotten a flu shot).”

Sounds a little too full of bs.

“after two years the vaccine has been around “.

Uhm, Covid-19 wasn’t even known 2 years ago. First known case in November of 2019.

The first clinical trials started last spring, 2020. China and Russia had their versions of a vaccines in the summer, but the first person to get one of the vaccines available in the west was in December of 2020.

We got ours as soon as possible and that was in March/April.

I know it feels like years, though. 🙂

The info has been dubbed conspiracy nonsense.

Much of it is very convincing.

When I proposed a lab leak 15 months ago everyone thought that was nuts.

I really appreciate the writer of this letter sharing his experience. I will continue to mask and distance til I see solid information that says it isn’t necessary. That’s total speculation and the more likely scenario is that the virus affects each person different. Why are the vaccinated husband, wife and mother in law all experiencing different levels of sickness when vaccinated? Provided the shots they received were the same and during a like time frame I think this suggests the shots are not stopping the pandemic and the efficacy of the shots is very suspect.

IMHO: Probably the ‘Delta’ variant of the virus.

(Sighs) Just like the ‘original’ Flu vaccines.

Absolute effectiveness. No.
Everybody gets the same sickness ? No.
Vaccine ineffective ? No. (Original Vaccine for Covid = 95% effectiveness. Delta = 65%.)

But the vaccine ‘typically’ reduces the severity of the symptoms (in most people).
Updated Vaccine for Delta is probably coming out in September.

Moral of the story for me is, being put in stressful situations around a multitude of different people, has consequences.

Intelligent Health security management is understanding where this could have been avoided.

No. Oh my… comprehension lacks. We cannot become immune to a virus without either catching it or being vaccinated.
Antibiotics are for bacterial infections that come from solid sources. Water, wound/puncture/ inhale dust etc.
Virus requires a HOST to build numbers then can spread to others. Viruses are not real stable outside the body for long.
Viruses do not respond to antibiotics. That is why vaccination is the go to to prevent the virus from proliferating in folks for spread to occur.
Not many ANTIVIRAL ANYTHING for treatment out there. Viruses are wicked trickier than bacteria to treat.

Sounds like the vaccine made you feel like your immune system is tougher, that’s good, being positive is the second most important thing you can do in life. Number one is ,wash your hands, 90 percent of the people I see don’t, and will not no matter how much I tell them to wash their hands. Then they claim they do ,all you have to do is look at their hands,90 percent filthy, wash them hands bud.

I advised my liberal friends to stay at home to save lives when the systemically racist american government lifted its mask curfew, but liberals and urbanites insisted on going on vacations, river rafting and going to superspreader events like farmers markets.
there is no excuse for anybody to be out and about in public, enjoying themselves at others expense.
As this scientific virus adapts to continually update its human software, it is imperative that progressives hide out on their rural estates wearing their flowing linens and eating fresh fruits and vegatables.
undoubtedly some will have to venture out to town, but be warned, strange faced tourists are about terrorizing small towns with their thrill seeking stupidity like never before.

all satire aside, what a drag to think of going back into the faceless world and the continued imprisoning symbolism of it all.
now more than ever, is a good time to keep everything local.
people never should have been traveling around wantonly like we do with cars anyways, for the past 50 years.
if you cant walk there, dont go there.
forget about cars except for getting around your community.
people are moving around globally way to much, and thats a reason this bug has spread so well i think.
my standard arguments against immigration apply to vacation as well, and work as a theoretical bulwark against invasive plant as well as invasive virus spreading.

Just my two cents (not that it means anything Lol)

Both my children are unvaccinated as is the rest of my family. My children, 16 and 21, both got COVID and my husband and I did not. My youngest had a sinus type congestion for half a day and that was it. My oldest had a headache and congestion for a day, then lost her taste and smell for about two weeks, and had a deep cough. My youngest felt completely normal the whole time and my oldest was just mad because she couldn’t taste her food (lol). Both have fully recovered and my husband and I still never contracted it (we all live in the same house). Super happy that you and your family are recovering.

Daniel – thanks for sharing your story. I am glad you and your family seem to be recovering well. I look forward to seeing you at the Farmers market.

This week, I lost 2 cousins to Covid in Brazil. They were brothers, the oldest and the youngest of 03, aged 40 & 32. Their middle brother was hospitalized, but have been released & is recovering at home. None of the 03 had been vaccinated because there was no vaccine available to them in Brazil.

At the same time, 3 vaccinated, older family members, also in Brazil, were infected with Covid. All three vaccinated people have been recovering at home without requiring hospitalization.

Thus far, in Brazil, one of my brothers has lost 15 friends, all younger then 40. My cousin, whom is in the Brazilian Military Police, in Brasilia, has lost 40 colleagues, all aged 40 or younger. None of these individuals had been vaccinated, and most of them were in prime healthy conditions. All of them left wives & children behind.

Check out How COVID vaccines are revolutionizing medicine | Adrian Hill

This past year, scientists racing to stop the novel coronavirus delivered vaccines at a pace and scale the world has never seen before. Adrian Hill, director of Oxford University’s vaccine research institute, recounts how he and his team developed the AstraZeneca vaccine. He explains why the challenges were as much about logistics as science, and predicts how the rapid creation of all COVID vaccines could change the pace of medical progress—even in realms beyond vaccines. This episode was recorded on March 8, 2021.

I caught COVID in February of last year, it was not horrible. It took me about 2 weeks to fully feel back to normal. I have only masked since when absolutely nessisary to enter a business. I have never used hand sanitizer or restricted being around large groups of people since. I did not get vaccinated and stilll haven’t. I fought the sickness on my own and my immune system did exactly what it’s designed to do. I’d love to see a real study on those that have caught it and how many caught it again. They don’t like to talk about that because there’s no money to be made if you beat it on your own and become immune. It’s like you wrote the play book , except it’s one where you don’t catch it again…….unlike the vaccine

The vaccine is not as strong as they claim. Data is indicating that if you are vaccinated your symptoms are less severe and have a higher survivability rate but people still die. I strongly feel they screwed the pooch on the vaccine by having law enforcement involved in the covid media tangle.

That in itself guaranteed a instant negative outcome amongst a enormous growing populace that loathe anything whatsoever associated with police.

I can’t imagine if the police chief was touting the polio vaccine in Oakland when I was a kid. Polio would still be everywhere.

I blame the government and law enforcement for not sitting at there desk where they belong and letting health care professionals do there job of convincing people of there imminent health issues.

I’m glad this family is okay.

Health care professionals did try to get the info and the shots out. Funny story. It took Elvis in 1956 getting the shot to great fanfare to get more jabs. After he did, the numbers of vaccinations jumped by 80%.

Doctors and other healthcare professionals did try to do their job, but it took a pop star to get people motivated.

Oh, the nun. 🙂

I remember standing in line in the school lunch room to get some jab. Though honestly that would have been the early 60s, so it must have been some other shot which all the kids in school were getting.

I did somehow wind up being one of the few in my generation that didn’t have the little circular scar from the smallpox vaccination. We were moving a lot. From Missouri, Arizona, California, back to Missouri and then back to California. Just missed the schools timing. Mom certainly wasn’t and isn’t an anti-vaxxer (she had polio before the vaccine), it was just timing.

My husband got the Sabin vaccine, with the sugar cube, lucky boy.

If there was ever any question as to whether or not the vaccine was lining the pockets of big pharma: Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine generated $7.8 billion in revenue in the second quarter. That’s a 3 month period. Each quarter is different, but on average, that’s $31.2 billion by the end of the year. All responsibility-free money. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make an untested, unguaranteed product like that and have the fed advertise, promote and push for you for free?

I knew big pharma stock was going to be a good buy last year, especially during the dip, but, I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it in good conscience.

If you consider the billions of dollars spent over the 40 years they’ve been researching mRNA vaccine technology. Then consider that a dose of this vaccine goes for around $30. It’s going to take a long time for 40 years of research funding to be recouped. At the same time a lot of these funding streams are from research grants and that money was not initially costing anyone else and it wasn’t ever going to be recovered. The grants run, funding spent and that is the end of that funding stream.

If science and medicine did not care why treat diabetics there are millions of them? Why help a Mom having a difficult birth with a C-section? Why treat someone with a heart attack when they show up at the ER?
If medicine/ research wanted to KILL MASSES WHY TREAT THE MASSES that suffer or are ill AT ALL IN THE FIRST PLACE?
Hmmmm.

HotCoffee

Most of the medical proceedures and drugs people trust were developed before the introduction of mRNA and was funded by taxes through grants.
Now much of the funding isn’t from grants, it’s from foundations owned by people not generally trusted, nor experts in medical knowledge. They do have however very specific goals as to how the world should operate.
Zuckerberg, Gates, Warren Buffet, Clinton Foundations come to mind.

Like many people that grow weed you keep crossing strains in hopes of a better plant.
In my opinion, mRNA is the first step in the process of doing that to humans, adding a bit of a bug here,
a bit of pig there, some who knows what wherever to ” improve humans”.

I think their intent is eventually to redesign humans to what they believe is “Better”.
Designer babies is becoming a reality, and I posted a comment not long ago here why I think an Autistic child that could be altered ” to be normal” would have denied us the wonders of Mozart.

To me the jab is the precursor to GMO ed humans.

Much of the world food crops are failing due to weather extremes.
The same Foundations are determined to change the food we eat. Hence, the highly processed Beyond Meats, etc.
I expect China who owns many of the hog plants and other food manufacturing companies in the USA to do as they did with the masks and try to buy up our food as people realize what’s going on.
China had to slaughter most of their pigs, and mush of their farmland is flooded.
I recall Truckers in the Beginning of BLM riots declaring they would not deliver in rioting areas.

Actually I just read an article in Goats and Soda about exterminating mosquitoes by gene editing to put a destructive gene into the mosquito’s genome. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/07/28/1020932493/how-an-altered-strand-of-dna-can-cause-malaria-spreading-mosquitoes-to-self-dest

It is not that those conspiracy theorists are making thing up wholesale. Such things do exist and will be possible in the not too far future. It is just that they are so afraid of these ideas they are no longer capable of being rational. Thus does here the words “vaccine with DNA altered spike protein” become in their heads “Bill Gates is injecting infertility to start agenda 21.” They are the same sort of people who obsessed over alien abductions after seeing movies like the War of the Worlds” or built bomb shelters in their back yards after Sputnik flew over the US.

hey are among the most famous names in the world, from tech billionaires and celebrities to doctors and lawyers, and countless corporate titans. All of them have one thing in common: outrageous underground bunkers with luxury amenities, including swimming pools, bowling alleys, and gun ranges.

Considering the current world crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic, bunker owners are at code red in preparing their families for at least six months in their bunkers. They are not worried about nuclear wars or asteroid hits at the moment; they are primarily concerned about civil unrest.

For the last five years, these bunker owners built their luxurious shelters with one goal—to protect their families. Some have safe rooms with escape hatches leading through a tunnel to their bunkers, while many others have underground bunkers hidden on their extensive land holdings, away from their main residence.

Or these?
Billionaire bunkers: How the 1% are preparing for the apocalypse

Say “doomsday bunker” and most people would imagine a concrete room filled with cots and canned goods.
The threat of global annihilation may feel as present as it did during the Cold War, but today’s high-security shelters could not be more different from their 20th-century counterparts.
A number of companies around the world are meeting a growing demand for structures that protect from any risk, whether it’s a global pandemic, an asteroid, or World War III — while also delivering luxurious amenities.
“Your father or grandfather’s bunker was not very comfortable,” says Robert Vicino, a real estate entrepreneur and CEO of Vivos, a company he founded that builds and manages high-end shelters around the world.

Is it so crazy to believe that people who have made money and are giving it back for the better of human health and society are doing it for good reason? Gates, zuckerburg, etc, could be like other selfish rich billionaires and not give a shit about humankind and spend their money on their own selfish endeavors. Why do they reinvest in human health, why do they bother with acts of philanthropy? Oh, just to make more money, news flash- they don’t need more money, but they still devote their time and money to causes that will advance climate change solutions and human health, beyond their lifetime!! They are thinking about the next generation, and using their wealth to better healthcare, food systems and human welfare. More than I can say for all the other selfish rich people who could care less about YOU! It seems that the survival of the fittest is on- in a world that is overpopulated, I guess population control can take many forms- a virus, or more a bunch of ignorant people who want to bash people working to make a difference and sit in their dwelling to demise the hard work of those who are trying to make the world a better place. These comments made by idiots spewing conspiracy theories are tiring. Do your part- go get an education, and think about someone besides yourself. Ugh….

You might want to investigate the claims of these foundations beyond their marketing material. Much of “philanthropy” in the modern era is a tax haven for R & D and/or a tool to pedal influence in emerging markets. There are wealthy people who do good things (see the tale of Mr. Chuck Freeney) but these marquis foundations are not the beneficial force their sales pitch purports

Like vitamin supplements are not a multibillion industry or self help books don’t sell . The trouble not doctors encouraging obesity in their patients (because they certainly don’t) but a society that eats like they were farmers in the 1800s but thinks playing video games is exercise. Effortless sells everything from marijuana to fast food to computers. And that ultimate effortless solution- Amazon is there to sell it.

But about covid? That’s misplaces delusional smugness for reality . The mortality for the obese is about 5% higher that their population demographic in every country. Deaths rise when more infections happen no matter how thin the populace.

Primarily better sanitation, increased access to clean water, and increased access to caloric sufficiency.

Preindustrial society was full of nonviral ways to die. My great grandma was one of 16. Only 7 survived to cold bearing age. One of 9 died of a sickness, the other 8 died in accidents involving farm animals or sketchy ass first generation farming machinery

“life expectancy in the USA in 1776 was 33 for men and 36 for women”.

Wrong.

That may have been the AVERAGE lifespan. Go to an old graveyard and you will see that many people lived into their 80’s. You will also see that children routinely died in their first few years. That brings down the average.

Plato was born in the 5th century BC and lived to be 80.

On Redheaded Blackbelt, I see nothing like the hateful, spiteful put-downs common on that other local blog.

I recall before Covid and before they built the new Geigers, people in the winter gathering around the stove in the entrance gabbing, sharing the local news, catching up on their kids events, smiling, hugging and just getting warm.

I miss that.

Now people go in with their mask, walk past people they would have hugged and get out ASAP.
People are being dis associated from each other and that ain’t good. People have more connection to their phone than they do with each other.

Only by reading the comments have I learned about the area in times of trial and confusion.

I’m amazed how differently we treat each other during a wildfire, then during Covid.
Thank you Kym for providing that, as well as the wildfire and other important issues you cover.

Last winter..in our residential neighborhood…. every other house had COVID with symptoms. Passover. If your of a risk group… weigh the vaccine option. There are risks to the vaccine…. my wife had a 105 degree temp after the 2nd Modura… almost broke teeth with the shakes, younger lady friend got hives that turned to boils… retired guy down the block now has menopause like hot flashes 4 to 6 times daily after jab. Others… no adverse effects at all from jab.

I do some morgue work for the police agencies and a local funeral home. You want to stay off one of our metal tables? The number one thing to do ….is DO NOT BE 100 POUNDS OVER WEIGHT. It’s called morbid obesity for a reason. Take care….

I have seen serious adverse effects in friends and aquaintances. Lots of people don’t think I’m telling the truth. One man stated here that his 200 coworkers had no problems. I found that truly interesting because the ratio I’ve seen makes me very uneasy about the vaccine. These were not the flu symptoms that lasted for 3 or 4 days which isn’t unusual for the vaccine side effects. I’m waiting on it. I mask, sanitize, and only go to the store once every few weeks.

We are in a war to stop covid-19 so who is willing to step into that roll of “soldier” and take the vaccine risks that must be taken to stop the invading virus? Do we attack our citizens who join the US armed forces as lemmings? Do we expect everyone else but ourselves to fight this virus war to protect our country/world? So the FDA has yet to approve the vaccines. Know that fighting a war is not guaranteed to be 100% safe. But to surrender is not an option we can afford to take. This war needs to be fought with everybody getting involved in the effort.

Except for the extension Nixon requested and got. It was supposed to end in June 1971, but was extended to sometime in 73 (I think). My husband was one of the “lucky” ones caught up in that extension. He got to spend some of his 4 years (Marines) trying to avoid being the last guy killed in Vietnam.

I also remember Nixon’s “Peace with Honor” ’68 campaign slogan. So good he used it again in ’72. Not really, but it was a joke my husband told. Also, the campaign slogan in the Marines was “Vote for Nixon in ’72, why change Dicks in the middle of the screw”. 🙂

Correction, you ask “Where have you seen “what’s on Hunter’s laptop”?
But I said, “And I’ve seen what’s been SHOWN on Hunter’s laptop.”
Interesting you left that out since the meaning of the two statements are quite different.

Pick a source. There are good and bad ones here.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=hunter+biden+laptop+content+download&t=ffsb&atb=v208-1&iax=images&ia=images

I chose this one, thought Au would be more impartial. I don’t remember each and every article I originally looked at, wasn’t expecting to identify them.

The people 100 plus pounds over weight…. they get respiratory distress from the flu…. and they really struggle. End up in the COVID unit on a respiratory pump…your odds are way down. There are many good weight loss plans/food systems available…as well as harsher options such as surgery. Swimming is good… walking…

Probably help if everything wasn’t full of corn syrup and the fast food calorie culture.

You look at some person’s date of death… you see they died 40 years before their time…and there is a row of cadavers….. decedents….. every one of them…. 100#s over weight. It’s preventable… if you care for people…help them live healthy lives. Hard COVID….. it slays them. Really hard to watch it happen to good people.

You can’t defend obese people, when they are a massive drain on resources and they will be held to account, when pushing medical propaganda for people who know how to maintain optimal health, and we start calling out EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATE OFFICE THAT ENABLES POOR HEALTH, to the detriment of the social contract.

Especially because conservatives are much more susceptible to buying into misinformation, as study in Scientific American showed. We are all more likely to believe information that aligns with our point of view– however as the study also points out the sheer amount of misinformation that presents conservatives favorably puts them at a real disadvantage in terms of believing fake news. It all kind of sad honestly…and dangerous

No. Oh my… comprehension lacks. We cannot become immune to a virus without either catching it or being vaccinated.
Antibiotics are for infections that come from solid sources.

A few. Nothing great for after COVID INFECTION AT THIS POINT. But yes…there are a few very specific anti virals…more like viral reducers and results vary widely. Herpes is a virus. Letter writer expressed being vaccinated helped him recover faster. Thank you for sharing your experience.

That is his opinion. We got covid in our home and beat it back with natural remedies… Anecdotal but still our truth. We also eat well and take care of ourselves.

I have vaccine damage from when I was a child.. never finished my regiment because of adverse effects. But now I’m the bad guy in the world because I personally won’t take the risk of a pharmaceutical. The only pill I’ve popped in 15 years is Advil and I hate doing even that.. pharmies aren’t for us all people. Live and let llive.

So, with your knowledge of virus you would acknowledge most masks worn by humboldt people do nothing to prevent the spread of the wuhan Chinese bio weapon virus except make people feel comfortable. Only n95 and above are proven to work if protocols are followed. Qualifying statements that masks may help reduce the potential are unproven and going the other way given the relative size of virus to receptacle to block.
As for the mRNA experimental shots, it appears they do not work because those who have been Shot are still getting the virus. In fact, a recent published paper by a well acknowledged virologist suggested that by getting more people shot with an experimental mRNA shot is potentially a major scientific mistake, as those shot have created more virulent strains while natural herd immunity has always burned out the virus over time as seen in Sweden. One of the inventors of the mRNA, Dr. Malone, stated that those uncomfortable with the mRNA will have a resource soon with an actual one shot VACCine, like those given to us all in childhood. He also suggested those under 18 to not get a shot as the potential downsides as of yet are not established. This is good.
We will see. Hope for the best but it’s weird how predictive programming foretells future events. Get a German shepherd, a lot of food, and guns.Legend. Ha ha ha.

Well it might be better to debate the policy and crazy rules that debate the family and their illness.
