How many parcels are there in Rancho? Around 400? If CDFW were serious, they would walk out these creeks repeatedly. They could also easily make arrests if that was a goal. They issue fines (which is a punishment if they get paid), but are these same folks just replanting and firing up their pumps again a few days later?

220 parcels in Rancho, I believe. All 10 acres each. Just got case of two disabled people being asked to tear down their house in the Rancho. That will put one of them on the street if cooler heads don’t prevail.

“illegal cultivation” should read “undocumented cultivation” or “traditional greenrush cultivation”.
more outrageous behavior in a society with few meaningful traditions.

Most likely Hispanics, illegal cartels. You can tell by the methods used and the grow stile. The Dom the creaks and then dump chemical fertilizer right into the pool of water. And they leave trash everywhere cause they don’t give a shit

Are you freaking kidding me? Do you not see all those empty boxes of spaghetti everywhere and pasta sauce jars? This is obviously an Italian job!

If you’re going to be racist, at least get the race correct! 😂

I agree definately seems like Italians. However, could be Israelis they are known to setup other races to take the fall. Like when they attacked the USS Liberty.

This is pathetic, and absolutely disgusting for our community and the environment. Diverting 100% of water from several creeks, inexcusable. We need to start catching these punks and making them pay for all the rehab and the damage they have done.

Thank you LEO!!!

How are you going to make them ‘pay.’? Two wrongs don’t make a right. Make me laugh. Evil number two replaces evil number one. You are worse than they are.

Those ponds like that. Seen them at many abandoned sites pretty common typical trade. 100% agree with above commenter… start hiking up the freaking Creeks looking for that stuff they would start seeing a lot more. Backtracking it from the garden to where it is takes a lot longe. Legit concept just start going up the creeks and find them at the source.
A few years back dude on Branscob Road. Saw no ill… thought he was cute draining the creek not too fat from the fish farm. Soent $$$$$$$ building a place. Cut the forest. Net n poison the birds…they break branches. Poisoned everything that walked. never drilled a well or put in power. But hey everyone in the family had real nice new cars. Wifey had some fine new big boobies. That was most important to dude. Kids swam in the fertilizer contaminated pond he didnt think it could be a issue. 100s like him in the north counties all cut from the same shade cloth.

Sounds about right. The worst effect of the Green Rush IMO was the rapid shift in values here. New everything, plastic boobs and plastic butts, designer clothes and baller bullshit lifestyle came on here hard. Sure some of it was here but most people and growers loved the land, loved the critters. Many rookies just saw $$$ and never questioned their actions just figured “That’s how ya do it. That’s how ya get the stacks of cash!!” It was such an overwhelming push of greed and selfishness that it changed our community forever…even today I see 30 year olds arriving with no sense of country living, little desire to learn country ways or compromise and they just want to blow up a dep scene and grab that cash. And they do it while wearing Grateful Dead t-shirts and espousing their spirituality and yoga devotions. It’s really fucking weird! Guys like the one you described are socially rewarded as being “successful”. We used to pride ourselves on patching together old trucks and living anti-consumption lives off-grid…knowing that the natural world was suffering from our human death spiral. Now we are few and they are many. It’s like LA North around here now with the values…Where is Eco-Dexter when we need him?

The days when 20 plants had to be worked on a few hours a day, that were valuable enough to provide enough income for the year. And provide enough free time to pursue making a beautiful property and piece of land that is able to sustain and live like its own independent system and provide for all the people and animals that depend on it. Leaving enough time to work together building communities that embody those values. Of course, also leaving enough time to surf and fish as much as possible and enable one to afford one nice vacation a year with the fam.

Sure let’s blow up a bunch of deps though and drive the price through the floor so we all have to work our asses off for bottom dollar and never have time to spend any of it. All the while the creeks are sucked dry and the land decimated.

The newcomers really seem to have it all figured out.

@Farce…agree with you 1000%! It’s really sad for the old timers to watch our communities, counties, our state, and soon the entire world turn into nothing but a giant ” poop” show, as some have called it. It’s more than sad…. it’s 💔 heartbreaking.

Farce… you are hundred percent correct. As a lady who has traveled in this industry for over 30 years I cut my teeth in it. Another component of it the misogynistic twisted edge. I could admit as a woman I’ve put up with some things over the years that I’m not necessarily proud of to survive. Being lorded over by a heavy-handed Partners or bosses is no fun. Dragged out of the house by the hair to go get a shiny new car. All the ladies at soccer were quite impressed but the story behind it sucked. Running a crew and going up to get the payment from the boss and he decides he’s going to drag me over the back of the couch and have his way with me before he stuffs all the money in my face and makes it seem like I’m asking too much to get the crew paid. The foreigner behind Five locked Gates that the boss sends me out to get him working. Absolutely won’t listen doesn’t give a s***. He’s getting paid fed and housed as he’s on site. When the boss shows up it’s all my fault. That yabo up Fox Rock Canyon yeah the Well story is true. He has so many barrels of money in the hills from the time of 2000 and up prices it doesn’t matter he’ll throw whatever at it. My best girlfriend whose partner promised to build her a beautiful house well he did that but he proceeded to beat her in that beautiful house and pretty much held her hostage. Two babies later she eventually did get away and moved to the east coast never looking back. Her abuser still hangs with the coffee shop crew. Always on the prowl for the next younger chick. Tragically the cycle continues as those girls all have dollar signs in their eyes . Sell there souls for it like we do in out ill advised youths of misadventure. One guy go to do a permit consult with and he wants to grab my tits and ass when I’m standing next to the well site. I tell him dude that is not what I’m here for and he proceededs to laugh. And says…”You know you want it.” No…actually I dont you nasty ass creep…as I bolt away and flee. This is my story this is my truth. I never speak out of neck which is kind of strange anyway how would that even work?… anyway and lots of the other ladies I know that travel in this industry and around have suffered the same BS. We can do better we need to do better. What it has evolved into is just disgusting. Hanging in the hills with the crew being quiet about you what you did is a thing of the past. We killed the Golden Goose about 15 years ago.

Those sound like crappy people. Why would you surround yourself with people of that low a caliber? You know there are a lot of good people who grow reefer that have morals and see that accounting as completely repugnant. Like you said though, I have seen plenty of young women hang around the worst types because they have cash, sounds like you may have fallen victim to the same ploy. I think a good lesson for you to pass on to the younger generation, one you could’ve done well to heed yourself, is something my momma taught me: “Morals are more important than money.”

More like told one thing and reality is far different in closed settings. Like the chick on the thread supporting Chris G. after the father and son were killed. She swore up n down he was…” a stellar human, wouldnt hurt a fly, trust her kids any time with him.” Or the other gentleman in PV the other day. Not always so nice…but to people who are on supeficial filtering status he was great!!! A Consideration for the gentleman…YO the awesome guy with all the heavy equipment is really willing to come and scrape and do the extra work . But then you’re going to get the bill up to five times what it could have cost . And it was never permitted and not properly done in the first place road collapses the next year. The one guy in Laytonville buys the place from the gentleman takes out the loan and then defaults and rather than leaving the property just uses his bulldozer to smash the entire thing house garage etc into the ground F y’all!!! I don’t think the lender had any concept that would come down. They’re many folks running up on the Hills North of Laytonville area doing property flips where they tell people they can grow take a s*** ton of cash up front and then kick them off before Harvest come only to flip and get a new victim next year . The hills are alive of a bunch of assholes and the tolerance for it is just ridiculous. I’m speaking because it definitely is time for something more positive to happen because all of this crap is too much . Folks do not always see the true depth of personality or control issues until the smoke and mirrors clear. Around here the tolerance for it all is an intoxicant in itself. We can do better. Let’s do better! ♥️

The penalty should be severe for this. Forfeiture of the land should be vigorously pursued.
