[UPDATE 9:35 p.m.] Mendocino County Deputies Pursuing Vehicle in Round Valley

Vehicle Pursuit

Scanner traffic as of 9:07 p.m. indicates Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies are engaged in a vehicle pursuit in Round Valley. The suspect has reportedly been driving at speeds in excess of 50 mph on rural roads.

The latest locations of the vehicle and the pursuing deputies are Biggar Lane and then they turned onto Oak Lane. The pursuing deputy reported he had lost sight of the subject on Oak Lane due to dust but then relocated the vehicle. The deputy expressed concern the suspect could bail from the vehicle and flee on foot.

The initial stop on the vehicle was due to a lighting violation, a deputy told the dispatcher.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

UPDATE 9:35 p.m.: The dispatcher told deputies involved in the pursuit that the suspect’s driver’s license is suspended/revoked and there is an active felony warrant for his arrest. They did not name the suspect.

Lets chase cars who don’t yield for tail light or brake light out. What a ridiculous mess: risking everyones lives including the deputies for a brake light is absolutely crazy. Find something real to do you welfare-pension sucking county employees! Is this Sheriff Matt Kendall fighting the Cartel? Insane loss of priorities.

Failure to stop. DUI ? Heroin ? Felon with firearms ? Maybe a ex-girlfriend in the trunk ?

Sure… let them go !

Those who flee generally have something bigger than a dead taillight to worry about, probably well worth pursuing.

or, the cops could just give up the chase, so that anytime you get lit up you can just run, knowing the cops wont’ chase you…BTW, it wasn’t just for brakes lights…he has a felony warrant
