Humboldt County Woman Found With Possible ‘Strangulation Marks’ Near LA Freeway
A 33-year-old woman from the Arcata area, Veronica Magneson, was found deceased near the Harbor Freeway (the 110) in south Los Angeles early Friday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman’s body found about 5:45 a.m. had visible facial injuries and what appeared to be strangulation marks.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified Magneson saying she was born March 20, 1988 and died June 18, 2021. They declined further comment explaining that the case was “deferred.” Sarah Ardalani, a spokesperson for the Coroner’s Office, explained, “Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination.”
She refused to provide further information saying, “Because this is an ongoing death investigation, I cannot go into further detail about her death.”
Magneson’s Facebook profile states she attended HSU in 2009.

What exit on the 110? The 110 runs from downtown LA to Pedro.
I got competing information. One report was West 118th Place.
That’s super sketchy neighborhood. Wouldn’t walk around there in broad daylight. Zero reason for anyone to be there. Definitely killed somewhere else and left there.
That was my girlfriend. She was at the greyhound station by the Jail and it didn’t work out. Her dad called me and I told him she got to LA and last time I heard from her

no connection. the woman by the golf course died of natural causes while on a walk and the other looks to be suicide, that being said humboldt does draw in the serial killers and people come here to kill themselves in the forest, but thats not what were looking at here.
In thick or dense brush twenty feet off the side of roadway? Odd place to die of natural causes and kind of odd place to be walking too . They sure it’s not a murder or hit and run?
Hit and run sounds likely to me, though I recall from her daughter’s missing posts that she did have some medical conditions.
