‘All Fired Up!’ a Fortuna Sunrise Rotary Program Raised Over $20,000 for the Fortuna Fire Department

Good News iconOn Wednesday, June 23, at 12:30 p.m., the Fortuna Sunrise Rotary will present the  Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department with a check for over $20,000 at the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD) at 320 S. Fortuna Boulevard.

According to Rotary president Simon Rios, “The Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department has been a vital part of our community for well over 100 years. They are modern day heroes that not only work on the front line as first responders, but they are also a catalyst for bringing people together in our community.”

He noted that the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department website sums up their mission, “We are committed to active participation within our community, to serve as role models and to effectively utilize all of our available resources to provide the highest level of service possible.”

He added that the “All Fired Up!” fundraiser came together because of the local community.

“We want to thank every sponsor, every supporter, every business, and every individual who lent their expertise to this successful undertaking,” he explained. “[W]e couldn’t have done it without them.”
