[Tour Now Filled] Tour of Kelly Paine’s Mill in Piercy Rescheduled for This Friday

This is a press release from the Institute for Sustainable Forestry:

UPDATE: The TOUR IS NOW FULL.

The Institute for Sustainable Forestry is very happy to announce that the tour of Kelly Paine’s mill in Piercy has been rescheduled, after it had to be canceled last year as the pandemic deepened.

KP and Sons Custom Redwood is a great example of a family-owned, small but growing, quality lumber mill. We’ll see the different machines and what they do, and learn a lot about how a log becomes lumber. They can cut boards, two-bys, four-bys, everything from 1 x 1″ up to massive 16 x 16” beams 20’ long. The mill produces lumber for sale in their new store in Santa Rosa, as well as custom orders, milling local logs for local people.

This event will be Friday, June 18, at 1:00. Space is limited, so f you would like to join us, please send an email  to [email protected] to reserve a spot and for full directions. This event is free.

Fir and pine is what needs to be milled, if that dies and burns there is nothing sustainable there. Redwood will always have incredible value.

Dear Kelly: I would love to take the mill tour on Friday at 1 P.M. I have been meaning to contact you about milling several redwood logs for Singing Trees. Please put me on the list.
Thanks,
