Press release from the City of Arcata:

The City of Arcata is in the process of creating the Arcata Strategic Arts Plan (ASAP) and is seeking input from the community.

The Community Development Department has been working on this plan since fall 2019 with the goal of supporting arts in Arcata both equitably and sustainably. The ASAP will expand and formalize the City’s support for the arts, and guide the City’s engagement with local community partners in the arts.

Community members who wish to share their thoughts on arts and culture in Arcata are encouraged to take the Strategic Arts Plan survey, which can be found at cityofarcata.org.

For more information about the ASAP, to review the current draft of the plan and learn more on how to provide public input for this project, please visit cityofarcata.org or call (707) 825-2100.

Strategic arts plan=take something fun and make it boring.
Let me give it a shot…find wall. paint it. Mosaic trash cans. Keep them. Sneak in a big ‘vag somewhere disguised as a flower, check. Devote hours of committee meetings to debate the political implications of using teal, vs. flourine green.
