Jackson Parrott, a Humboldt County Inmate, Designed and Painted a Mural Beautifying the Jail’s Medical Center

Yesterday, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department announced the completion of a project in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility’s Medical Unit. The project not only beautified a wall but gave one inmate a chance to develop his talents.

Inmates competed for a chance to paint the wall.  Jackson Parrott, who has subsequently been released, was chosen.

Parrott said it took about four months to complete the mural. “I think there is a lot more people in here that could probably do some cool stuff to given the opportunity,” he said.

Staff are open to the idea of another contest in the future, explained Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, Samantha Karges in a voiceover.

We’re looking forward to the results.

Hard to believe but he can also play music.
If only he would Chanel those talents and get off the dope he’d be doing a lot better.
Awesome job tho.

Ps. You never write/draw on the jailhouse walls, just means you’ll be back to read it at some point
