Sheriff’s Convoy Gathering in Benbow This Morning
A convoy of Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department vehicles, Fish and Wildlife vehicles, a trailer with a Kubota, several unmarked vehicles and two Cal Fire vehicles began gathering this morning in Benbow around 6:30 a.m., reports several local residents
According to one reader, they were last seen heading onto South Benbow Drive.

Awesome, good news!!! I really hope they bust a ton of grows this year. But what would really be great is if they actually caught the people that were doing the growing illegally.

Is the building and planning department still using the eye in the sky and sending abaitment letters.
The status of abatements is definitely interesting, haven’t heard of any this year yet. Is the program suspended, doing pre investigations, are there lawsuits challenging it. Does anyone know?
I read somewhere that the methodology of prior abatements has gone to court. It is illegal to act upon satellite imagery alone, which is why cops still fly helicopters.
Are they going to use helicopters to abate homes under the Safe Homes Act?
Beware of the “Safe Homes Program” aka The Humboldt “Amnesty” Program. The way that the current Planning Dept is being run this Program should be called “The Bait and Switch Program” or maybe “The Humboldt Entrapment Program”….. John Ford was brought here to “clean up” this County, but in the end his Draconian Tactics will be the ruin of our back to the land legacy. Green Rushers be Damned!
Only masters can abate is all I’ve known since middle school.
Sometime back this spring, the Independent published a interview with Ford who said that they were going parcel by parcel with their spy cam looking for illegal grows and dead car “lots”(my word), he said that they weren’t looking for code violations. Then, as I somewhat recall, he said that they were going view the parcels again at a later date as part of cracking down on building code violations. Please do correct my recollection anyone!
The Planning Dept is definately still collecting DAILY intel with the Satellites that John Ford employs to Spy on EVERY ONE of our Private Properties. Beware of this Rogue “Ruler” of Humboldt County. John Ford has been granted way too much power and is here to tax and pillage. Once his methods are proven to be unconstitutional and inhumane he will be gone just as quickly and quietly as he arrived. Good riddance!
