No Green Waste Drop Off at HWMA’s Hawthorne Street Transfer Station May 21, 22

This is a press release from Humboldt Waste Management Authority:

Humboldt Waste Management Authority HWMAGreen waste drop off will be unavailable at HWMA’s Hawthorne Street Transfer Station starting Friday, May 21st through Saturday, May 22nd. During this two-day closure, HWMA will perform necessary repair and retrofit at our green waste drop off area. 

In the interim, HWMA encourages customers to direct haul to Wes Green Company located at 6360 West End Road, Arcata during this two-day closure period.  HWMA apologizes for the inconvenience this causes our customers and expect to resume regular green waste drop off services on Sunday May 23rd.

What’s the deal with recycling when will that resume

It’s open again. I guess they dont want to publicize it and get flooded with vehicles.

Until that happens I make trips to Crescent City where one can recycle most everything, then cash in my CRV containers at Hambro before going to Rumiano for great cheeses and butter and then to Alexandre Dairy Store for milk, eggs and yogurt. (Worth dealing with delays at Last Chance Grade.)
