[UPDATE 7:33 a.m.] Trailer Burns on Redwood Valley’s Tomki Road

Structure Fire LaFeverAt approximately 6:00 a.m several firefighting agencies responded to a structure fire near the 16000 block of Tomki Road regarding an engulfed trailer. As of 6:30 a.m., scanner traffic indicated resources have been reduced and personnel at the scene reported the fire was under control.

Several Redwood Valley residents reported seeing a column of black smoke in association with the blaze.

A Redwood Valley resident told us at least two Cal Fire engines responded to the incident and one water tender, as well as Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office vehicles.

Redwood Valley resident Eric Boyle watched resources respond to this morning’s incident and said he was “feeling very blessed that those staffing our agencies recognized the danger to the dry wildcards and rolled so many resources so quickly.”

UPDATE 7:33 a.m.: Redwood Valley Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Pete Brown told us via telephone that when firefighters arrived to the scene they found “a fully involved fifth-wheel trailer with minor spread to the vegetation.” Assistant Fire Chief Brown said the original dispatch reported there was no one in the fifth wheel and no injuries resulted from the fire. He added that firefighters are currently in the mop-up stage and the fire is under control.
