We drove past this about 30 minutes ago. It is about 1 mile west of DC, where the bridge work is going on. There is currently a traffic light there, and only one lane flowing at a time, because of the bridge work.

That’s just a horrible country to be stopped in. No radio or phone reception. Only two more towers would help a lot.

I have heard you can call 911 even out there, dose anyone know if this is true?

Sounds like some ones vacation plans just went up in smoke. Glad the person(s) in the vehicle are fine. The Dodge 3500 has some really heavy duty axles that don’t break very often. Hope the fire did not spread to their 5th wheel trailer.

Keep the tires properly inflated!

Low air tires create heat and can set a rim on fire, it’s over after that.

Keeping tires properly inflated is correct, but what does that have to do with a broken axle?

Nothing.

Just putting it out there as a preventative measure.

It was a very good comment about keeping tires properly inflated. I thought I had missed something in the article, and it made me wonder. Think I will go out an check my tires while they are cold. Have a nice day.

Obviously they should have driven faster. That fixes everything.
