Pavement Overlay Project Upcoming on State Route 3 in Trinity County

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2), in conjunction with J.F. Shea Construction Inc., is preparing to begin work on the Minersville & North Trinity Center Overlay Project State Route 3 in Trinity County. The $1.8 million project will replace asphalt concrete and overlay the roadway at two locations along State Route 3:

·      From just north of Cedar Stock Road to near Estrellita Heights Road.

·      From south of Buckeye Creek Road to near Groves Road in Coffee Creek.

Also included in the project will be the removal and replacement of pavement markings and upgrading guardrail to meet current standards.

Construction activities are currently planned to start on May 10 at both locations. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 14-minute delays at each location, Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of June.
