Arson of Vehicle Inside Detached Garage Leads to Arrest (Video)

Early yesterday morning, Eureka Police arrested a woman, Ashlee Patton, in connection with a van being set on fire in a garage in the 500 block of First Street. The owner of the van sent us the following video and alleged it showed Patton as she prepared to set fire to the vehicle.

Humboldt Bay Fire released the following information about the fire:

At 12:08am on the morning of Thursday, May 6, 2021 Humboldt Bay Fire crews made their way down a narrow alleyway to find smoke seeping from the eaves of a detached garage. Firefighters made entry and were able to extinguish a fire originating from the rear of a passenger van within the garage.

After investigating the fire, it was determined to be arson.

Eureka Police Department was able to detain a suspect, who was later booked on Arson of Property charges.

Thankfully, Humboldt Bay Firefighters located the incident quickly and contained the fire. There were no injuries, and damage was limited to an estimated $8,000 comprised of the vehicle and garage.

Humboldt Bay Fire would like to thank the Eureka Police Department for their swift response and partnership on this incident.

Oh totally, because there were never any arsons or pissed off women setting fire to some guy’s stuff before the lockdown.

That’s sarcasm.

Who knew, when some 30 years ago, the guy that set our truck on fire was the victim of the 2020 Covid pandemic. Not even anyone we knew (he also set other things on fire, including another car and a house).

Or a friend, upon leaving his crazy wife, had her dump all of his stuff in the front yard and set it on fire. Again, a couple of decades ago…damn that Covid lockdown.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This puzzle is missing a lot of pieces. Obviously, calling you and arms flailing means some type of disagreement and apparently enough for this young lady to set your shit on fire. I don’t condone anything she did but sometimes street justice is justified just not in a court of law. As Paul Harvey would state “now, the rest of the story.”

yep. Violence can never be condoned, but it’s smart to remember that refusal to communicate can escalate into drama.

When someone has something important to say, they WILL say it..

so many incidents with guns, fists, bricks through windows, etc…. could have been prevented by just helping someone to feel heard.

I sort of agree, but violence isn’t just a modality of expression for the unheard “oppressed” or aggrieved.
It’s a mode of expression for all humans, and even other higher life forms like Cats.

Angela, if you think the masking and the lockdown hasn’t contributed significantly to the social insanity, the economic and cultural poverty we see everywhere we go, well what has?
Trumps out now, so we can’t blame they/them/ anymore..
is it Biden fault now that everybody seems to want to draw blood?
Couldn’t possibly be because our planet took a Economic nose dive due to a lab leaked science virus..
Na,
Everything is normal
