52-Year-Old Man Received Major Injuries Yesterday When Struck by a Semi in Eureka

Major InjuriesPress release from EPD:

On April 21, 2021, at about 4:00 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the intersection of Broadway and W Clark Streets for the report of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. The 56-year-old male driver, a resident of Woodland, was traveling southbound on Broadway in a semi-truck when he struck the 52-year-old male pedestrian, a resident of Eureka, in the roadway.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance responded and provided emergency medical care and transportation to the hospital.

The driver was evaluated on scene and DUI does not appear to be a factor. Video surveillance from the area is being collected and reviewed and the cause remains under investigation.

Interesting, somehow you were able to convey the exact same information without providing a photo of a person in a very private moment at their worst. Weird, it’s almost as if there’s no reason to invade a person’s privacy and publicly display them injured or dead.

As long as the picture is of what’s happened or happening, it’s news.
