I’m guessing she’ll be in jail two or three years with no trial, then following the trial she’ll be released for time served without ever stepping foot in prison (it’s California’s clever way of keeping criminals in county jail rather than state prison)

Right… you’d think that with “feminism & equal rights”, women would get the same punishment as a man considering men get 60% more punishment for the same crimes committed by women. The irony.

I fail to see the significance of providing her 2017 booking shot . Unless it’s to illustrate her physical demise?

Based on her previous arrests (dui and vandalizing in pursuit of alcohol) and also banter on the interwebs it’s maybe safe to assume this woman clearly suffers from addiction & or alcoholism, and the mental and emotional instability, and gross physical decline that accompanies that.

Alcoholism is a fatal, progressive disease.

That her behavior, mental state and physical health /appearance are in decline are symptoms of alcohol use disorder! Not news!

But it’s your news piece. You set the tone.

I just know that no one is immune to addiction, it touches everyone’s life directly or indirectly and in my opinion sensationalizing her state, by dredging up old mug shots ,(which the curious could find pretty easily) is akin to posting the details of the physical and mental decline of a terminal cancer patient. Dehumanizing.

Any adult with mental health issues has full access to help, no excuse for an adult to not get therapy or whatever they need to get them healthy. The public does not deserve to suffer the consequences of an irresponsible or selfish adult with mental health issues not getting professional help. Zero excuse, hold her accountable.

While I agree that we should all have to face the consequences of our actions, it is ridiculous to claim that we all have “full” access to mental health help. In this, as in most rural areas, mental health practitioners are few and far between. It can be extremely difficult for even a high functioning patient with strong support systems to access and maintain mental health treatment. Remove the support systems and/or the ability to cope with the myriad hoops and hurdles required to obtain and maintain treatment and it is easy to see why untreated mental health patients abound.

That’s absolutely insane to say everyone has full access to mental health care, most mental health care providers covered by Medical are ill equipped to deal with a variety of issues including severe or unique mental disorders. What needs to be normalized and encouraged is addicts and the severely mentally should not have or keep children. Ever. And I say that as a mentaly ill addict, I can not properly care for a child and I’m not a disgusting self absorbed person that has a child regardless. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO CANNOT PROPERLY CARE FOR THEIR CHILD DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO RESCUE THAT CHILD.

Adults are RESPONSIBLE for their mental health, no excuses. Take accountability, if you have an issue or problem, don’t be subjective and full of excuses. You think those getting professional help are better off than those not attempting to. Grow up & hold adults responsible, this isn’t a child. There’s plenty of access to mental health in America, my Mother is a retired psychiatrist & my Step Mother currently works with a Master’s degree in Mental Health. There’s support for those with mental health issues in this Country & those not at least taking the steps towards that ARE BY CHOICE. Nice try. This isn’t the time or place for excuses, she nearly killed 2 children.

Bad CHOICES lead to bad consequences… as an adult, this should be obvious. Living a life full of constant bad CHOICES, is the road you paved. Not an opinion, this is a fact. Accountability. Learn from your mistakes or suffer the consequences along with society taking the brunt of an adults bad choices.

It’s a disease, which the primary symptom of is a craving for alcohol.

But you are right, to a degree. The first drink, and early use, and abuse- like binge drinking – or daily doubles – are “choices.”

But somewhere after regular use, and some abuse, it turns into dependence, and addiction. And it is extremely physically addictive! The alcoholic, barring a medically supervised detox, which is very difficult and expensive to get in to, physically needs alcohol to function.

And at that point they are in the hands of dark forces. Then after many miserable years of swirling the drain, with no recovery
it ends in incarceration, institutionalization (from stroke or accident) or premature death.

So, to the dismissive eye-rollers, you’re so damn lucky if you have no intimate knowledge of the gross decline of someone suffering from alcoholism! It steals everything..

Also noted, I see it’s a press release, which in catching it elsewhere, evidently LE chose to attach the old mug shot?!? Uneeded shaming. 🙁

Our system gives no help. Only shame and punitive measures. And usually , like in this case, once it’s far too late .

It’s people like you that allow this to go on happening by coddling drug addicts. Lock up the drug addicts then there not out doing dope and robbing and abusing. The drug rehab therapy crap isn’t working. Nice try though . I rather see our prisons be filled with drug addicts. Over population of prisons my ass build more and throw more drug addicts in there I won’t miss them . It’s worth the “money” . Keep there dirty asses away from me .

Our prisons are filled with drug addicts. Bursting at the seams with them actually. And where is this “drug rehab therapy crap” being tried and not working?

It’s fine to call it a.choice, but you need to also recognize that peoples choices are informed by the community they grow up in and impact the communities they live in. As long as we, as a community, don’t address the systemic issues that create the abundance of circumstances that make the choice of addiction appealing, then we as a community need to shut the hell up and embrace the impact that it has

Somebody commented that the accused was let out early due to covid for the last arrest, that otherwise she would have been in still. Are they discontinuing the early release in general by the end of June?

Addiction is a choice. If you get hooked it’s your fault because it’s been around for decades. If you do something knowing it can be bad and you continue to do it, that’s your fault. Enough with the sympathy, this scum is a train wreck.

Just curious, what about a pain management patient who follows doctor’s instruction to the letter, then after 5 years of pharmacological treatment, has finally convinced their insurance carrier to go ahead and fuse that pesky area in his spine that is missing a disc. Things go well, except they are hopelessly addicted to opioid medication?

If you’re in serious pain then narcotics don’t even really get you high if you titer the doses to the pain. There’s just a physical addiction- not a psychological one. It’s not hopeless. If you have insurance try and get treatment.

Is this even news in Humboldt or Mendocino counties? Just a typical citizen doing typical things in that part of the world.

Google “mother stabs children.” You will find stories from Los Angeles, Pennsylvania and Georgia in the 2021 alone. And in New York and Tennessee…

Did the voices tell her to pick at her face and make sores? Because that’s usually a sign of drug use.

I don’t think whomever gave her the black eye picked at her face. There are like nine sores around her mouth and one looks infected. I know it seems mean, but… I really think the voices won’t seem so loud if she sobers up a little bit.

Hey come on now! Maybe those children were possessed and the evil needed to be exorcised? We do not know the underlying cirmumstance. Turn her loose, you know you want too. 🙂

Perhaps this is not the end but the beginning for you Daisy. This is a very hard bottom to reach but Daisy you are loved and worth it. Your children are safe and now you are too.

Know we are praying for your family. And especially rooting for you. Please accept the help that will be offered you and fully work the steps so you can live a long life. I believe in you sister. Surrender and let go. You now have the time to undo the harm that has been done to you and the harm you have created. Break the cycle Daisy for you and your beautiful sons. The world needs you.

She said stabbed her two children! Breaks my heart to think about how horrible of a situation to have the one thing in a child’s life they can trust for safety, turn on you and try to kill you, with a knife. “This is a very hard bottom to reach”, this isn’t a bottom. Her situation is an endless, dark pit. “Break the cycle”, I’m sorry but this is just crazy.

Alcohol is the only disease you can yell at someone for. You don’t yell at some with lupus. I would give anyone 1000 dollars if they would French kiss those disgusting lips. Zoom in. Ugggggg

Cancer doesn’t make a person stab their kids. Alcohol will contribute to that. So will what ever she’s been getting all those wee burns all over her lips with. No excuse, maybe a factor, but no excuse. And yanno, nobody runs out and yells “Whoopee! I’m gonna drink me up a shit ton of happy cancer juice ‘cos I wanna get all cancered out!” My Mom was an alcoholic. Her choice not to even try and quit, her choice to gurgle on.
