I am very sad for the lose of the Yurok tribal member Mr. Taos Proctor. May he RIP. Condolences to his family and friends. A big thank you to the community members, Del Norte Sheriff’s Office, and the Coast Guard for their search and recovery efforts. I sincerely hope that other boaters will take this tragic event as a warning to always wear a life jacket with a locating beacon (light for night rescue), and waterproof radio when boating in that dangerous area. The better you are prepared, the better your chances for survival.
