Thousands of Vaccines Available

  1. Covid-19 vaccinePress release:

There are currently thousands of vaccine doses available at clinics this week with walk-in hours every day starting Wednesday.

Clinics are held at the Arcata Community Center, located at 321 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Pkwy., with walk-in hours from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. These availabilities are for those seeking their first or second dose.

Walk-ins are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, although booking an appointment is the best way to ensure a vaccine is available when you want it. Spanish and English speakers are available at every clinic.

Appointments for Moderna and Pfizer clinics this week can be made at MyTurn.ca.gov. When prompted to “Enter your address or ZIP code,” county residents should enter only “Humboldt County” on the “Let’s Find an Appointment” page of the My Turn website, the third page of the appointment scheduler. This means residents will input “Humboldt County” in two different places.

All county residents age 16 and older can register, but 16- and 17-year-olds should sign up only for the Pfizer vaccine. Minors must have proof of age and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The following clinics and vaccines are available by appointment and for walk-ins:

  • Wednesday — Moderna (18 and older)
  • Thursday — Pfizer (16 and older)
  • Friday — Moderna (18 and older)
  • Saturday — Pfizer (16 and older)
  • Sunday — Moderna and Pfizer (16 and older)

Ten New Cases Reported Today

Ten new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Humboldt County today, bringing the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus to 3,631.

Humboldt Remains in the ‘Orange’ Tier

Today the California Department of Public Health announced that Humboldt County will remain in the “Orange” or Moderate tier with an adjusted case rate of 4.6 and a positivity rate of 2.3%.

To move into the “Yellow” or Minimal tier, a county must have an adjusted case rate of less than 2 per 100,000 and have less than 2% positivity rate for two consecutive weeks.

Get the vaccine if you want , don’t get it if you don’t want to. Drink if you want but don’t drink if you don’t want to. Pretty simple , apparently alot of no drinking if you already got a surplus. If counting votes was only as straight forward.

I still say we should put the Mexican cartel in charge of vaccinations. Every heroin addicts needs are filled every single day without fail, 24/7. Everyone would be vaccinated and there would be a surplus in a week. No need for a appointment, no walk in hours just jab, jab, jab.

My mom got the covid shot in Vermont and died a week later and my aunt got the J&J one in New Jersey and now has been having severe seizures and had a herpes outbreak. I am devastated now and I wish to God they would of listened to my cousin who was telling us over and over not to get the shot. I had an appointment until my mother went to the hospital. They wont even let you see your loved ones in the hospital and my mother died alone. I am begging everyone do not get the shot. I don’t think its really a vaccine and my cousin who everyone was making fun of and calling a “conspiracy theorist” is so devastated. This is a total nightmare. My life has been destroyed.

I took the shot and my eyesight and hearing improved.

My HIV was cured, scoliosis straightened and my 8 pack turned to a 12 pack.

My weed got frostier and the redwoods in my backyard grew 2 feet in one day. My light does even close themselves now!

After the vaccine my car didn’t need oil changes and cops don’t mind if I speed.

After the vaccine I get my money for nothing and chicks for free.

Everyone’s medical issues will disappear after the magicjab.

Your totally not made up family members must have ingested hydroxychloroquin, because everyone I know who got the shot reported EXACTLY the same effects I just described.

dementia? from your post, it seems like that was the effect on you. or maybe the dementia is from all the aluminum in the chemtrails. (jackie gleason did it.. ha!) did you know the guy who just died in the hayfork area? felt ill after getting his second shot and then died.. there’s a post on the hayforkers fb page. did you ever think about the possibility that this post and the person and their pain might be real? if so, what a stupid, callous comment.. talk about a troll! but no, trb is always so sure he has all the answers and everyone else is really one person using multiple names, right? no debating facts for you, never any open mindedness to new info.. that takes some intelligence. the following really applies to you.. guess which group you’re in..

Treehugger, I love your meme. A suggestion, though, for you and everyone else on here who seem to be perpetually frustrated, pissed off and angered by certain people, regular posters whose comments provoke you (I name no names). It’s simply this: starve them out. Do not respond. Trolls and other psychic vampires feed on the negative energy they receive from others who are disgusted by their remarks. These reactions make them feel powerful in their otherwise closed down and pitiful lives. I understand it’s really tough to hold your tongues, but trust me, take a tip from the Amish and SHUN THEM. If you really want to devastate these types, leave them with windless sails. Everyone. Let them get as puffed up and nasty and swollen with bs, let them do it, and do not reply, if it kills you. Just ignore them, it’s absolutely the best way to deal with them. If you ignore them, and deny them the opposition they crave, after awhile they will just shrivel up to a sad little husk and blow away. Try it, it really does work. Unless, of course, you’re enjoying the game. Waste of time and energy, in my view.

Hmm… That quote sounds like internet fodder. Not really Socratic in that as far as I remember Socrates never acknowledged meeting an intelligent man. In fact his goal was to deflate those who thought themselves intelligent.

https://factcheck.aap.com.au/social-media-claims/no-evidence-that-smart-people-quote-is-socrates

On the other hand Eleanor Roosevelt was more appropriate to internet commentary when she said
“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”

There are people out there that believe Covid19 is real, that it is capable of making you very ill or worse, yet do not feel safe getting the available shots.

It feels like we are caught in a crossfire.

Will these shots they call a vaccine ever be FDA approved?
If so, how much longer until they are?

Or is there no incentive to do that now?

Lol. You haven’t even given it a year to see if any side effects show up. A lot of times it takes 5, 10, even 30 years for long term effects to manifest themselves. I’m young and I’ve already had COVID, smashed it by the way, barely slowed me down. Anyway, there will always be another disease that shows up and tries to kill us. This vaccine won’t put an end to that. This is the 3rd coronavirus outbreak in 20 years. Chances are very high there will be another coronavirus outbreak in the next 10 years that will render this vaccine completely obsolete. So taking the vaccine is a zero sum game for me. Either I don’t take it and nothing changes, or I do take it and still nothing changes, except now I have to wonder if that shot will cause long term side effects ten or fifteen years down the line.

Now if you are old and have been imprisoned in a long term care facility for the past year and that shot was your ticket to freedom, it’s a different story. If that were my situation I would care less about what was in the shot if it meant I got to leave that facility and see my family. Different strokes for different folks. Everyone needs to respect that otherwise your a damn child, it’s that simple.

Viruses themselves have long term effects that may only show up in later years. An infection you might not have noticed may have wreaked much harm. Heart valves weakened, cancers started, inflamations leading to chronic illness… Everyone chooses the best they can but there are no guarantees. But the chances are worse of damage with an unchecked virus whether short or long term.

If that’s your opinion, sure. I think vaccines are great, i also know that most vaccines are pretty rough for the first decade or so they are in use, and that’s usually after 10 years of testing for traditional vaccines. This is brand spanking new mRNA tech. We won’t know till we know though, will we? Here is the thing, after 5 or 10 years, if COVID is still a thing and ya’ll are doing fine, I’d probably take it.

When Fauci can’t figure out yet when shots will have to be readministered, ( his estimates have varied from six months to two years ), and he can’t say with certainty when we can stop wearing masks, even after vaccination, and new studies are still being conducted to determine transmissibility and whether or not the vaccines cause blood clots or shingles, or whether maybe they just trigger them, etc., etc., and FDA approval is still pending, I’d have to conclude that the vaccines and it’s recipients, are still very much in the experimental stage.

That’s the reality of it.

Taking the shots doesn’t make you a vaxxer or an antivaxxer, or a Covid19 believer or denier.

It makes you a volunteer.

568,000 have died from Covid19, that’s just the USA. Brazil is going through it big time and India. I’m happy I got the Pfizer , both shots. I know people that have died from COVID-19 I know people that were taken down seriously sick and have long-haul symptoms. Ted Nugent, Was not a believer of this pandemic, didn’t not like to wear a mask said it was all a sham. However now that he’s been sicker than a dog from Covid, he is singing a different tune. Get vaccinated if you want to don’t get vaccinated if you don’t want to, pretty simple. And remember when you step on a rusty nail you may want to go to the doctor to get a tetanus shot either that or get lockjaw. Oh that reminds me my dogs are due for their vaccines too. Can you imagine if rabies got out of control, or distemper. Yes it is a world full of medicine. Let us remember smallpox and polio, Can you imagine if there was never a vaccine for those illnesses? Chances are we may not be here.

Yeah I agree with you. My dogs are due for their vaccines. Only thing is, the polio vaccine was tested for 10 years before they used it on the public. Polio was very contagious and more deadly than COVID, with actual long term side effects, and the kicker was that it messed up children badly, which COVID does not. Also people like to conveniently forget that the first decade a vaccine is in use is usually really rough. Refer to the Cutter Incident. The first mass vaccination trial in which 200,000 children were vaccinated against polio and 40,000 of them came down with polio from the vaccine. 200 were left paralyzed and 10 dead. These were kids. But yeah keep brining up polio and all those vaccines like it somehow proves your point about these brand new mRNA vaccines being “safe and effective” when they have only been out a few months.

Someone took the first antibiotic and survived because of it. Someone received the first vaccine, the first blood donation, the first almost anything you can think of… But few of those things just sprang into existence fully developed. There were steps leading up to them and mRNA has had those first steps to use to evaluate its safety. It isn’t magic.

You should do your homework first.

Here is some info regarding penicillin…

“In September, 1940, an Oxford police constable, Albert Alexander,48, provided the first test case.
Alexander nicked his face working in his rose garden.
The scratch, infected with staphylococci, spread to his eyes and scalp. Although Alexander was admitted to the Radclffe Infirmary and treated with sulfa drugs, the infection worsened and resulted in smoldering abcesses in the eye, lungs and shoulder.

Florey and Chain heard about the horrible case at high table one evening and immediately asked the Radcliffe’s physicians if they could try their purified penicillin.
After five days of injections, Alexander began to recover.
But Chain and Florey did not have enough pure penicillin to eradicate the infection, and Alexander died.

So yeah, there is that.

I happen to be allergic to penicillin.

I don’t discount the fact that it was a miracle drug.

My life was saved by penicillin when I was eight years old. I had bacterial Pneumonia. I break out in a bad rash if I take it now.

Again, I agree with guest… Penicillin is a miracle drug.

Also, Aspirin is a miracle drug. Aspirin has probably saved more lives than many other drugs. It helps to eliminate the risk of heart disease and strokes.

As my grandfather used to say, “we all choose our own poison”.

Interesting , Ernie,

I don’t remember why I was given penicillin, or the reaction it caused, although I vaguely remember getting hives.

I was 16 months old when JFK was assassinated, I can clearly remember that.

My mom flipped out.

RFK’s assassination as well, but since I was almost 6 yrs old at that time,
it isn’t that remarkable.

I know no one will believe it, but I don’t care.

I’d rather hear from someone that can recall something from that age.

Giving Thanks, you mentioned tetanus

do you know anyone who ever got a tetanus infection? neither do I
I ended up in the emergency room a year ago and was due for a tetanus shot………They wanted to stick me with TDAP (tetanus, diptheria, pertussis)…………..seems ludicrous that they combine the (3) when only the tetanus is prescribed.

I didn’t take it……….my jaw isn’t locked……….

That’s because of -ta da- widespread use of a vaccine. Mostly tetanus used to kill small children and mothers. 30 years ago it was still killing hundreds of thousands. With the vaccination push world wide, it is now down to 50, 000 per year.

“568,000 have died from Covid19,…”

And how do you know that, Giving Thanks?

According to the [questionable] cdc it would be: “All Deaths INVOLVING Covid”. That number also includes “presumed covid”. Now how could they “presume” someone died with covid? Why not pneumonia? Influenza?

Here’s a start: “State-by-state breakdown of federal aid per COVID-19 case”.

https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/state-by-state-breakdown-of-federal-aid-per-covid-19-case.html

See that $145,000 per “case” in California? How many “cases” has Cali had? That’s a lot of $. Big business, this covid thingy. VERY profitable for some.

Then of course there’s the bs rtPCR test that has a potential for shooting out false-positives at 97%. (That’s 3% accuracy btw).

https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-article/doi/10.1093/cid/ciaa1491/5912603

“Your Coronavirus Test Is Positive. Maybe It Shouldn’t Be.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/29/health/coronavirus-testing.html

Just pointing out the obvious. If you are getting your information from msm, consider it suspect. Check their sources.

I’ve now been turned away 3x by public health professionals on absolutely absurd grounds for my Pfizer shot. Got one in me. Trying to get my second has proven to be nye on impossible if you aren’t exactly who they want to be injecting. Makes a skeptic, even a pro vax skeptic, wonder where the motivations lie and why.

From where I sit, the biggest impediment to getting access to the vaccine is the bureaucracy put in place to deliver it.

This vax injection effort should never have been given to the states to run. This should have been a military run op from start to finish.

True enough. But that’s the dilemma of valuing free speech as a business model. The concept may feed the power of the press to say what they want but the press doesn’t like hearing negatives about themselves any more than anyone else. The usual response is to never publish that criticism.

This site is the only one that I know of that tolerates it. The people that use this place to voice their opinions are also in the same position. Or should be. They don’t get to filter out what they don’t like if they want the freedom to say what they want either. Because the only thing that permits it is a principle that all get their say. I do find it strange that TRB doesn’t see that.

The Real Brian

I do see that.

Should I assume that you still don’t know what trolling is, that it exists, and it proliferates with less rules?

Because it seems like it’s a word that some dareth-not-discuss or mention.

I have brought that discussion up, and I find it more worthwhile than debating if Covid is real, endlessly, with strict anti-vax trollers.

Or, should I say, “the ‘T’ word”. So not to offend or encourage toxic emotional reactions…

I chose to take the J & J jab (lucky to have had a choice)…because I’m surrounded by Covidiots. My chances of harm from the vaccine less (my estimation from what I’ve read) than the infection.

The ‘variants’ are gaining ground…this isn’t over. Younger people are being affected and Long Haul Covid is a thing for an estimated 20% of cases.

But y’all will put you fingers in your ears and scream ‘la la la la lalalalalala’ — I’ve done what I can to protect myself from you (and thus, other people in my community).

So no one is forcing you to get vaccinated. So you shouldn’t care either.

Amazing how life is so full of risk.

The risks if you take the jab.
The risks if you don’t.
The risks of catching it.
The risks that you won’t.
