Sheriff’s Office Shares Details/Photos After Arresting Florida Men with 24 Pounds of Marijuana/Cannabis

This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

MCSO Case# 2021-9260 (24) 1-pound bags of marijuana/cannabis for sale with packaging material Photo Date 04-16-2021

On 04-16-2021 at about 2:30 AM, a Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on vehicle at the intersection of North Highway 101 at Black Bart Drive in Willits, California.

The Deputy made contact with the driver, Tomas Valencia, and three other passengers in the vehicle.  The passengers were identified as Camilo Valencia,  Ali Khan and Alvin Valliaril.

The Deputy detected the odor of marijuana/cannabis coming from inside the vehicle and visually observed loose marijuana remnants in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and the Deputy located twenty-four (24) one (1) pound bags of processed marijuana/cannabis and packaging material to ship the marijuana via United States Postal Service.

None of the occupants had any sales invoices or shipping manifest allowing them to lawfully transport commercial quantities of marijuana/cannabis.

All four individuals were arrested for the listed charges and transported to the Mendocino County Jail.

In accordance with the COVID-19 emergency order issued by the State of California Judicial Council, bail was set at zero dollars and all four individuals were released after the jail booking process, on their promise to appear in court at a later date.

Alvin Valliaril (22 year-old male from Seffner, Florida)

Ali Khan (22 year-old male from Tampa, Florida)

Tomas Valencia (22 year-old male from Riverview, Florida)

Camilo Valencia (28 year-old male from Riverview, Florida)

Can anyone explain how the scent and visual confirmation of loose cannabis in the vehicle is still grounds for unauthorized search and seizure, as cannabis is legal for any adult over the age of 21 to posses an ounce of flower on their person? Is it because it was “loose” and not secured in a container that was out of the driver’s reach (open container)?

Childproof containers are required by law for retail sale and transport of retail sales. Four out of state dudes at 2:30 AM reeking, with little baggies of black market herb. This was a no brainer.

The only explanation is that lawsuits have not been filed to end this ridiculous and unjust practice.

Stay up on the case law. It helps you avoid embarrassment. Like arrest. Or asking a question like that on RHBB.

So it’s embarrassing to ask questions about topics I’m ignorant of? Where do I read up about this case law [edit]

That didn’t break your rules. I didn’t call him a troll; I asked if he was trolling. There’s a difference. Please quit editing or deleting comments that don’t violate your rules. Thank you.

Don’t like what I do…then don’t post comments. Unfortunately, I’m just one person in charge and don’t have a committee to review decisions. It is probably inevitable that I make mistakes, but you’re stuck with me. (Also, I don’t remember the deleted part the same way you do.)

From me:

“Where do I read up about this case law, or are you just trolling? Jesus, you’re a peach!”

Didn’t break any of your rules. Not going to quit posting. Still going to ask for equal treatment “under the law.” I am stuck with you, but I’m going to hold you to the same standards you hold others to. 😉

When you call someone a “peach” or a “genius” but you actually mean the opposite don’t ask me to pretend you aren’t being insulting. That’s ridiculous and an adult should stop playing those kind of games.

And, since this is twice you’ve wasted my time with this ridiculous stuff, next time you are on moderation.

It’s not ridiculous to me. I’m not stoked on the censorship in news media at this time. I believe you’re participating in the game of censorship. A microcosm of the macrocosm. I didn’t call anyone a “genius.” Please don’t put words in my mouth. I don’t put them in yours.

So is facetiousness against your rules? Maybe you should explicitly state it instead of letting us guess what you want? I didn’t violate your written rules. All I’m asking for is equal treatment.

One person gets censorsed, it’s a tragedy.

A million people get censored, it’s a statistic.

Call me crazy, but there’s a historical
precedent to learn from.

My apologies, it was I Like Stars who did that. https://kymkemp.com/2021/02/08/sheriffs-department-takes-custody-of-pit-bull-responsible-for-friday-night-dog-attack/#comment-1281155

Insulting someone is against the rules. Do it and get put on moderation.

Glad to see the cops waiting till the deal is made so the cash can stay in Humboldt. Most will be spent right here at home. Cash from weed is what keeps this county and Mendo rollin. Thank you for proper planning.

Why do you think it was stolen weed?
What I want to know is, who comes all the way here for 24 lbs?..split 4 ways? What happened to their cash? is a better question

Commerce, which is what these men are accused of, is the business of America. The continuing persecution of people doing business is pure insanity on the part of those who make and enforce the law.

Those that make and enforce the laws have always had their own “commerce” racket that they dearly hang on to..

Let these be cautionary examples for any who might dare conduct commerce on State turf without giving the man his due.

Did anybody else notice one article says 24 pounds and the other article about this exact incident says 22? Just saying.. seems kind of strange to me.

Ain’t weed legal in Florida? If so, what the hell just grow your own for that amount. Just release them and give’em 12 seeds each and tell’em not to come back. These kids ain’t criminal.

What do you think would happen to these men if they were caught with 7 pounds of heroin like the young couple from Humboldt that were given a ticket?

Do you think if it were the same people/look/situation etc but they were white they’d have even been pulled over in the first place? I bet not if they drove a clean lexus or something. I’m glad they got caught and glad others are caught but I wonder how many just skip on by. I remember some indignant Arcata Sq kid complaining so loudly after it legalized no longer able to make bank doing jack on the grey market medical like it was his own personal entitlement. Oh well sorry slacker. Anyone know what the numbers are of out of state peeps even showing up to court?..I mean real numbers not grumpy ass speculation

Everyone shows up for a felony, eventually.

I have 6 cases from the 80’s still on the docket.

Worst decision made usually is allowing the eastern state to take over the case. I have seen this done only with defendant in agreement. It is insane.
