7 New Cases Reported Today; Capacities Expand for Tested, Vaccinated People
Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Team:
A total of 3,560 Humboldt County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 after seven new cases were reported today.
The State of California has set a goal of June 15 to fully reopen the economy, a date that hinges on vaccine availability and hospitalization rates. Community members are urged to support reopening efforts by scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. Sign up today at MyTurn.ca.gov.
Today the California Department of Public Health announced that Humboldt County will remain in the “Orange” or Moderate tier with an adjusted case rate of 2 and a positivity rate of 1.1%.
Also today, the state updated its Activity & Business Tiers Chart to allow increased capacity limits in facilities for guests who have been tested or are fully vaccinated. This includes concerts, weddings and receptions, private meetings and more. These changes take effect this week with required mitigation measures in place.

“We are administering the Johnson & Johnson (1 shot only) vaccine utilizing our deputy sheriff personnel who are certified paramedics and emergency medical technicians,” the website states. “LASD is working with local community based organizations like ‘Integrated Community Collaborative’ and ‘Disability Voices United’ to connect with LA County residents most in need, go to their residences, and provide them this life-saving opportunity.”

Well the mentally disabled are notoriously make good choices for themselves and they obviously have a high level ability to apply reason to avoid putting themselves at risk. So of course no one should be concerned if they are afraid to get vaccinated in the middle of a pandemic because the fear of needles is more rational than the fear of sickness. (Yes this is sarcasm about people who seem to share an attribute inconsolably afraid of what they don’t understand.)

After finding the footage they’re referring to (you have to click the date at the end of the block quote at the top of the page to be taken to their twitter page which contains the video), it’s very obvious that in every clip one or more of the person’s family or other guardians were present, and legally making a medical decision for someone in their care. The officers were all polite, helpful, and supportive – and anyone who has read many of my posts would know I’m not a big fan of the police. Your link entirely misrepresents what is shown in the video. Try reading less-moronic “news” sources.
