The Fish and Wildlife Convoy that included members of Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department’s Marijuana Enforcement Team have moved from Phillipsville to west of Miranda.

Betwen 15 and 20 vehicles were seen going into a property in the 500 block of Thomas Road in the Salmon Creek watershed west of Miranda, a witness told us.

“We saw them cutting the gate,” the person sending the above photo said.

She also said a number of vehicles including those belonging to Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies, Fish and Wildlife officers, and a chipper as well as several unmarked vehicles.

Please note: This is near this reporter’s childhood home and people involved may be known to me.

This stupid plant is nearly federally legal, if they are being a bunch of D bags destroying the environment I could see that.

Does anyone reading this have a d-bag neighbor with environmental violations associated with a pot garden?

There are plenty of good farmers out there (permitted and “traditional market”), but there is also no shortage of bags.

I’m willing to bet that just about every neighborhood or subdivision has a d bag present, permitted or not.

Is a D bag a replacement for the turkey bag?

Keep it coming LEO’s and CDFW. I like they are starting early, hell just keep it going all year long like the “growin” season has become anyway.

There are so many D bags out there, are you kidding me, just drive the County roads and you can see that. This does not even cover the D bags miles behind locked gates. Our environment in the hills is in a death spiral and there are not many people paying attention. The legal process is in place but this “loop hole” about agricultural soils is destroying our Oak woodland landscapes and prairies.

The Federal, State, and local agencies known how critically important these habitats are for wildlife and ecology but we are still permitting large grows on these special fragile landscapes.

Not right, and guaranteed not what we the people voted for, we voted to remove the pressure from the hills and get the grows onto true agricultural land. The valleys and farm land of the river bottoms, where infrastructure, and existing farms are suited.

Not really starting early. Some of these farms manage all yr.. They pull fresh flowers this time of yr. Pretty much anytime of yr.

Thomas Road is an area the enforcement teams should really concentrate on, as is the entire Salmon Creek/Mattole watershed, for many reasons like stream diversions and massive pollution and many other environmental crimes. They need to start at the bottom and work their way up and across and around and out as every possible violation will be found. This problem of commercial grows and anything goes needs to be gone in Salmon Creek sooner the better as the problem there has been getting worse for decades.

Rising Tide, we need you and others like you to get in contact with the Sheriffs office and give them verifiable information on locations, etc. Please it takes all of us in this community to start ridding ourselves of these large illegal grows.
