Sheriff’s Office Arrests Man After Finding ‘Assault Weapon’ and ‘Suspected Methamphetamine’ in Vehicle

This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Shannon Henson (24 year-old male from Willits, CA)

On 03-03-2021 at approximately 2:27 A.M., Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported suspicious vehicle in the area of Rancho Grande Drive in Ukiah, California.

The Deputies were advised the vehicle was an old police vehicle, black in color and having spot lights.

Deputies responded to the area and located the described vehicle at the intersection of Rancho Grande Drive and Cabana Court.

Deputies contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Shannon Henson. While talking to Henson, Deputies were given consent to search the vehicle.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch checked Henson for warrants and probation. Deputies were advised Henson was on Mendocino County Summary Probation with a term to obey all laws.

During the search of the vehicle, Deputies located three bulbous glass methamphetamine smoking pipes [11364(a) HS], an assault weapon [30605(a) PC], switchblade knife [21510(a) PC], and approximately 8 grams gross weight of suspected methamphetamine.

Henson was also arrested for a drug user while being in possession of a firearm [29800(a)(1) PC] and violation of his Summary Probation [1203.2 PC].

Henson was subsequently booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.

Come on. This guy looks young and confused. The charges are victimless. (It is not said why he is on probation). Sounds like he needs counseling, boundaries, and minimal punishment as opportunities to change the path he is on.

Oh, Ben. 15 is young, 24 years qualifies as grown up enough to know better. Your suggestion sounds nice and cozy but let’s not coddle lawbreakers. He’s had some years to figure out where the opportunities are.

What the hell is a suspicious vehicle, was it lurking in a dark alley or peeking through windows. Seams like a clear case of profiling to me. And the quickest way to get a cop to rummage through your car is to not consent to a search Probation is the oil for the revolving doors and doing your time or completely clean your life up is the only way out

North west asks “What the hell is a suspicious vehicle”[?]

It can be any vehichle that isn’t a “regular” in that neighborhood and isn’t clearly going to, or coming from a local residence or business.

Perhaps your neighborhood doesn’t have aware people who keep an eye out for potential trouble, but many do, in the city and the rurral areas.

Many crminals profile themselves, no need to defend them.

Oh my. I’m so sorry for the surroundings you live in.
You’re 100% right, I do not understand how you can call 911 on someone unfamiliar or lost on our roads You could be turning in perfectly honest crooks All you have to do is add cops to the situation

Looks like a beatnik that just got teleported through the wrong portal. All that stuff was OK, where he came from.

None of the items found on Mr. Henson belonged to Mr. Henson. Not the weapon, not the knife, not the weight. Probably the pants Mr. Henson was wearing did not belong to him. In addition to not owning anything within a 100 foot radius of himself, Mr. Henson will also declare that he had no personal knowledge whatsoever regarding any of the above-mentioned items. He simply did not know how the gun, the knife or the meth got there. And that’s the honest-to-God truth. He swears. I bet.

Time for the Death Penalty. This bitch has been in the news more than Covid….

Why are we, as a community, supporting this shit?

Because you have never made a poor decision in your entire life, right?! Never broken a law. Ever. Not even once have you ever broken a rule or pushed any envelope. That’s what allows you to look down your pristine little button nose at everyone else and pass judgement condemning that someone be condemned to”death” for a “crime” that leaves no victim behind…? Hopefully you’re not in any type of law enforcement division, we’d read about your trigger happy ass next… just sayin’.

There’s been a considerable uptick in the ratio of sketchy retired autocops as of late.
And they all look like they’re in a hurry to get to, or away from, some ProudBoys shit show.
