Thanks for the link, Ernie Branscomb! In my 50+ years driving California’s highways I’d figured out a couple of the letters/numbers but this in-depth website is terrific. Like the others, I’ve bookmarked it as well.

Marker 130. How many people out there know where this is located?. Name the nearest town or off ramp maybe?

In the story, it states that the accident location is north of Orick. The mile marker given is off of the HWY 101 Redwood Park Bypass before you get to the summit heading towards Klamath/ Del Norte County.

My apologies. I added the Orick part after reading humbert’s quibble. Then I got called away before I got a chance to state that in reply to him.

In the VERY FIRST comment I posted a link to find any milepost marker in the Caltrans System. If commenters would Bookmark this link they would never have to question where the milepost was again…. Works for me. Thanks Kym.

For Kym: Do you have any information about the guy whose truck was found abandoned near the intersection of Dows Prairie Road and Clam Beach Road?? His nickname is “Hawkeye.”
