[UPDATE 4 p.m.] Driver Arrested After Multiple Hit and Runs and a Short Pursuit
According to Eureka Police Sergeant Eddie Wilson, officers received a call reporting multiple traffic collisions by a black Jetta. An officer located the vehicle turning south on N Street. A short pursuit followed.
Finally, the vehicle looked like it was going to stop but ended up colliding with a parked vehicle, Wilson told us. DUI is suspected.
Wilson said that he anticipates the man will be charged with DUI, fleeing from an officer resulting in a collision as well as two other hit and run charges.
UPDATE 4 p.m.: According to Brittany Powell spokesperson for the Eureka Police Department, “We received the report of a hit and run near H and Oak streets. One victim followed the suspect and provided his updated location.”She told us, “I believe 2 occupied vehicles and 1 unoccupied vehicle in total were hit…The driver Justin Lindahl (30) was arrested for DUI, hit and run, and fleeing from an officer.”
No injuries have been reported, she said.
