Robert Allen Moore: ‘Always there for his family’

This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and your memories to [email protected].

Robert Allen Moore
May 11th, 1958 – February 24th, 2021

Robert Allen Moore was born May 11th, 1958 in Fortuna California. He died suddenly while working in Alamo Nevada on February 24th, 2021.

As a young child, his family lived in Bull Creek, and later moved to Fruitland Ridge where he grew up. He graduated from South Fork High School in 1976 and went to work in the logging and construction industries, where he found his calling running heavy equipment. He spent many good years working for Van Meter Logging. He also worked at Pacific Lumber Company and was currently working for Steve Manning Construction. He was an excellent equipment operator and skilled diesel mechanic, who could drive and fix almost anything. He enjoyed everyone he worked with over the years.

He married his wife, Judy, in 1983, they had three children and six grandchildren. They built a beautiful home together in Fruitland Ridge where they raised their family. He was a loving husband and father who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was always there for his family, whether it was to help us solve a problem or celebrate an accomplishment. To us, he seemed like the most knowledgeable man in the world as he had a helpful answer for everything. It seemed like there was nothing he could not help us figure out. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed exploring new places. Over the years, Robert and Judy went on many road trips. Niagara Falls was especially impressive to him. In the off season he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. We will always cherish the time we spent with him in Ruth lake, Clearlake, on the Lost Coast Trail, and at our home on Fruitland Ridge.

He is preceded in death by his father Edgar Moore, his mother Marie Moore, and his two brothers Larry Moore and Gary Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Moore, his children Katrina Holtzclaw (Justin), Alisha Putney (Jim) and Allen Moore. His grandchildren Joshua, Jeremy, Mason, Roger, Hannah, Liam, and bonus granddaughters Avalon and Lilia. He is also survived by his sister Linda Hilburn (Ray), sisters-in-law Mary Moore and Laura Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be dearly missed by his family and the many friends he made along the way.

A heartfelt thank you from our family to Steve Manning and his crew for all they did for Rob at the end of his life.

One of the finest men from one of the finest families I’ve ever know. Truly a legendary Equipment operator who was also a tremendous leader. Rob had the ability to gain the respect of people in the shortest period of time His influence on me cannot be stated in words and I’ll be forever grateful for the time I’ve spent with him. It will never be forgotten. The obituary is correct when stating how proud he was of his family. His life has been cut short but his success and legacy will live on forever

I appreciate the time I was able to work with Rob. I wished I had been notified earlier so I could have payed my respects to his family . He was fun to work with and hard to keep up with his pace. Old school! Good people are hard to find and when you do , you sure miss them when their no longer but the things you learn from ones like Rob are very valuable !
I brag about the Manning operators all the time here in New Mexico and tell how skilled they all are and when I’m speaking of them I am thinking of Rob and of course his buddy Steve Mannning. They are 2 of the best operators I’ve seen.
Great to have known him !

Judy& family,
David and I are so saddened for you and you entire family. Rob was such a kind man, a true friend, an amazing worker , loyal to the core.
Every Christmas or birthday he would come to the store
“ I need a purse for Judy, she’s gonna doll it up , you know she does amazing things with
Rhinestones “ we will miss talking with him. Running into him and him saying “ well I haven’t seen ya, what ya been up to?” He always made us feel that he was truly interested in how we had been passing our time. We send our love and hugs to the entire family. 💚

I cannot even believe this, Robert and both of his brothers are gone. Larry, Gary and Robert were my heroes growing up and I just can’t believe they are all gone. They were all men that were incredible people always ready to help anyone and they were all very talented. All of them also left a huge void in the local community it feels like an era has come to an end. Cassi and I will be praying for Judy and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Rob.

Judy and family- I am sorry, so very sorry for your loss. Robert did not age like most people. He remained “boyish”even tho he was a mans’ man indeed. The photo above is so wonderful. Whoever took it captured him perfectly. The “boys” were like rock stars to me when I was young. Rob and his Jeep, Gary and his green step side, and Larry with his trans-am. My goodness they were cool! Robs’ voice was his fathers. The way he laughed, the way he greeted me was so Uncle Ed and will be missed beyond words. This old world needs more people like Robert Allen, not one less. A truly sad day. Sending his family what strength I have and wishing it could help. Kristina Marie moore

Dear Judy and Family; Dave and I are so, so sorry for your loss and our hearts are saddened with the loss of one such as your Rob. Always the kindest of men with the best of conversation listening to his wonderful voice. Nothing we can say will ease the loss, but it sure warms our hearts to remember him and read all that the others have to say about a man well loved. Dave and Donna Anderson
