EPD Says Man Arrested Yesterday Morning for Charges Involving Approximately 15 Victims at 8 Locations

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Christopher Flagler

Christopher Flagler

On February 28, 2021, at about 6:15 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to the 100 block of Harris Street to assist Humboldt Bay Fire with investigating multiple suspicious car fires.

Vehicle fires were located at the 100 block of Harris Street, 100 block of Grotto Street, and 2800 block of C Street. All fires were in close proximity and appeared to have been set within 30 minutes of each other.

While patrolling the area, officers located 32-year-old Christopher Flagler exiting the alley where there was an active vehicle fire. Flagler was detained and a records check showed he had multiple warrants and was on probation. Flagler was found to be in possession of a lighter and small bottle of flammable liquid.

Flagler was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for multiple incidents of arson, burglary, vandalism, and outstanding warrants.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. At this time, there are approximately 8 involved locations and approximately 15 victims reporting varying degrees of arson, burglary, and vandalism. If you have surveillance of the suspect on the morning of February 28th in the Henderson Center area or if you are an unreported victim to a similar crime in the area, please contact Detective Corrie Watson at (707) 441-4032.

Why do people start fires, anyway? Unless it’s arson for hire or insurance fraud, there are no monetary incentives for torching a car or a building. Revenge, maybe, if your target has done something to you, burned you (no pun intended) on a drug deal, that sort of thing. Otherwise . . . what??? Don’t ask me to quote my sources, but I once heard that there’s some kind of sexual component to setting fires, the perpetrator getting, er, stimulated . . . Or in some cases the perpetrator, er, reaching a plateau of this stimulation . . .

I was a victim of a very similar arson decades ago. The guy set 4 fires within 4 blocks. He was never caught, though at one point, his wife/gf did turn him in, but then recanted. She said he’d set the fires because they got into arguments. The same thing happened at least once more near the same neighborhood, but a few blocks away from the first set of fires.

Anyway, she said he did it because they were fighting. But, he had a specific ignition source (toilet paper cardboard tubes with some ignition source in them) already made, so I don’t know that that statement was true.

Diversion to keep police and fire busy while committing a crime elsewhere maybe?

Because hes an antisocial personality who should have been put away forever long ago rather than having been granted probation by the bleeding heart leftist society America has created that fuels the development of these personalities. Arson is as heinous a crime as murder in many circumstances. In this case an entire apartment complex caught on fire. The damage to the automobiles was huge. The victims insurance will not adequately compensate them. The costs of fire suppression and police apprehension will be borne as usual by the taxpayers. The peaceful, safe communities of past Humboldt no longer exist. It’s disgusting. These criminals need to be seriously dealt with.

Oh please. Everyone was safe in the past? Really? Everyone? No crime? I grew up in the 70s. There were serial killers all over the place. Many more than we have today. Then there were all the racial killings that were never even prosecuted. How about all the chi mos? The past is not a refuge.

What planet are you on, dude? I have lived in Humboldt County since 1952 and I can assure you that the peaceful, safe communities of Humboldt County never existed. [edit]

everyone that voted in california the last 10 years is totally ok with this or they would not have voted for the most lenient sentences in america!!
i forget how many hundreds of crimes are no longer felonies to make room in jails and prisons.
lots of criminals have been headed here for a while because they know there are next to no penalties for these types of crimes in california.
thanks, i guess voting does actually work sometimes. LOLOLOL!!!!!!!

Yes, Hoopa is a hotbed of conservativism! And the conservative families of Fortuna and Ferndale are the source of most of Humboldt County’s criminals!

feel free to collect your own data on each mug shot. if you ask me, its the level of entitlement parents teach their kids around here that is the ultimate source of the problem. This area is completely run by conservatives, except for Arcata which is only partially run by conservatives.

I used to work at a youth home for disturbed children and a lot of our fire starters had been regularly molested by an adult in their home of orgin.

He is clearly just reaching out. Just a hurt and misguided soul who is not being properly understood. It is obviously somebody elses fault. Perhaps a male figure from his past?

Hey you just want to whine? Or hear why some folks do crazy shit? For whatever reason this guy went off setting fires, it’s a good idea to figure out why, and recognize what kept him from burning everything the rest of the time. That’s just better police work. There’s a reason he set a fire the other night, and you didn’t. Even if you believe California is so different from anywhere else, shouldn’t an arson investigator learn what makes an arsonist? Do you just recommend just sucking it up and getting molested like a man?

What a way to ruin my vibe.:-) I was trying to get in touch with my liberal side…. now i am back to the mind set of throwing his carcass over a fence and letting it rot, as a reminder to any other would be arsonists.

Kudos to Humbolt County. At least they arrest the shit people. Mendocino literally “interviews” rapists, arsons, thieves, concealed loaded weapons thugs, gang banging assholes, hundreds of parole violations too vast to list. They all have been given literally a free pass. NO BAIL Nearly ALL court cases will BE DISMISSED. I can’t wait for every meth maggot POS to be caught and released 20 times each. THE COPS HAVE NO AUTHORITY ANYMORE. They should quit and get their life-pensions. Of little to no use anymore. THE police have no authority. All the criminals KNOW DAMN WELL they will have their free pass to do whatever, to whomever.,

Let everyone out of jail. No, instead let them get covid most poisoners literally are trying to get it to get their gov. free pass out of jail. Step One: Who cares if prisoners get covid. Use them for vaccine trials, instead of using monkeys or mice. Mice are more respectful. STEP TWO: Any prisoner attempting to get covid gets an additional 5 year sentence. No jury either. That would be a waste of time. Whats wrong with prisoners breaking rocks, or being forced to work viciously for 16 hours a day. If they are so tired from breaking rocks or picking up trash, maybe they will be too tired to plot their next crime from jail. ITS TIME to make things uncomfortable for the criminals, not make it easy or a free pass while citizens get robbed, raped, beaten, stolen, coerced, etc. etc. THINGS ARE UPSIDE DOWN, ladies and gentlemen. Beware !

It seems our OWN GOVERNMENT refuses to handle the problems with California criminals. The majority arrested will never be tried, or even given a fine. Fines are for good citizens to keep them in-line. The criminals are let go by the police, so they can do it all over again to you and I.

Actually letting the prisoners go is as stupid as can be. Do you think anyone on meth, or carrying their Loaded UZI will be wearing a mask around town. These are the fuckers you see coughing all over your kids as they refuse to even wear a mask. Our government let them go to allow the criminals to continue. WTF?

If we can focus one thing it could be on the victims. One person has two cars gone. In a local group the victim of the two burned cars stated they had let their insurance cancel due to non payment. Can you imagine being in their shoes? They have a go fund me.

I think every victim should get a no cameras visit with the arsonist in the interrogation room. Choice of pliars, baseball bat, or golf club.

Meanwhile Biden wants to eliminate our gun rights, and invites the cartels in, that Eric Holder will gladly supply more guns to.
He (Biden) will even fly back the MS13.

And You Can Kiss The State Of The Union Good-Bye

It’s hard to believe but it’s only been a little over a month since Joe Biden took office. During that time, he’s signed a stack of executive orders that have resulted in everything from exploding gas prices to a surge of illegal immigration at the border, loss of untold thousands of jobs, and never mind his bombing of Syria.

Joey boy promised us via Jen Psaki we’d have the State of the Union by February 23. Did she mean February 23 2024?

I was looking forward to the guy bloviating to a world-wide audience. It would have been like a combination of Rodney Dangerfield, Buddy Hackett and Foster Brooks if you know what I mean.

Add comprehensive coverage to your limited liability insurance, people. It’s cheap and it covers theft, vandalism, animal strikes, broken windshields, etc.
