Eureka Mayor Susan Seaman Talks About Moving into the Red Tier

This is a press release from the City of Eureka:

Hello. I’m Mayor Susan Seaman.  As I have mentioned in previous addresses, the City of Eureka is continuing to work tirelessly in support of the health and well-being of our citizens, our community, and our economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This week, Humboldt County moved back into the Red Tier. This is great news for our local businesses, many of which now have the ability to expand their capacity. Some of those changes include:

  • Restaurants are now able to open indoors at 25% capacity.
  • Gyms and fitness centers can open indoors at 10% capacity, although indoor pools, saunas, and steam rooms will remain closed.
  • Movie theaters can open indoors at 25% capacity.
  • Bars, breweries, and distilleries remain closed.
  • Gatherings remain strongly discouraged, but are allowed with up to three households if everyone is wearing facial coverings and maintaining physical distance of at least 6 feet.

You can find a complete list of guidelines from the California Department of Public Health at https://www.cdph.ca.gov.

Another big change that we’ll see in Eureka on March 1 is a return to in-person instruction at Eureka City Schools for all grade levels. Families now have the option to have their student attend in-person instruction or continue distance learning. This will include Eureka High and Zoe Barnum High School, thanks to the Red Tier status.

As students return to school, regular bus service will not be available and school hours and days will be staggered. Parents will probably spend at least a couple of weeks trying to figure out how to fit transporting their kids with irregular school schedules back into their somewhat regular workday. Employers, please consider providing parents in this situation additional flexibility while they navigate getting everybody back into a workable schedule.

All children will continue to have access to meals, but there will be a few changes to meal distribution to accommodate both in-class students and those who are not in school. Curbside service for Eureka High School will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Alice Birney, Grant, Lafayette, Washington, and Zane curbside service will run from 11 a.m. to noon.

During the past year, even those of us who do not have kids in school have been reminded of the important role our schools play in the lives of our children. They are not just places for education.  They provide daily stability for working families, physical and social outlets for kids who are growing and learning to function as part of society, food for children who may not have it readily at home, and they serve as a body of watchmen who identify children who may be living in unsafe environments. Our teachers have been superstars throughout this, providing their lessons over video conferencing platforms, but there is no doubt that in-person education is integral to healthy families and healthy communities.

If our goal is to keep our kids in school, it is up to everyone to make sure we’re following the best COVID-19 protocol to prevent outbreaks and keep our educators and students safe. Eureka City Schools has a number of reports on their website, eurekacityschools.org, that outline the protocol and precautions they will be taking to keep students safe. To be most successful, the responsibility for preventing illness and more school shutdowns has to be shared among all of us. If you’re sending your kids to school, make sure they are following strong COVID-19 protocol outside of school, too.

As children, teachers, and staff return to school, people will return with varying feelings, from eager and enthusiastic to cautious and hesitant. Expect some hiccups as educators adapt and as their new environment becomes more stabilized, and as kids readjust to a more organized schedule than they may have had for a while. Be patient and allow for unexpected emotions. If your student is really struggling emotionally, reach out to a school psychologist or behavioral specialist.

Before I go, I would like to mention that last week I attended the North Coast Kiwanis Champion for Children Awards program. We rely a lot on our educators, but children need support from a variety of adults. This event recognized efforts from several individuals, programs, and businesses who have made an impact on the lives of children. I want to say congratulation to Karen Mann, Derek & Cheryl Kingham, Early Literacy Partners Program, Vern’s Furniture, and Dale Warmuth. Among this group are foster parents, club leaders and mentors, teachers of reading, and funders of recreation programs. A common thread among award recipients as they spoke was recognition that the time and money we invest in children when they are young results in healthier, happier adults, and a healthier and happier community.  I encourage every one of us to think about what we can do to be a champion for children in our community.

Again, I’m Mayor Susan Seaman, and I appreciate everybody’s commitment to listening to this message.  Please remember to continue to follow good COVID-19 protocol. Wash your hands, wear a mask, social distance, and avoid social gatherings. Together, we can make sure our businesses and schools stay open. Please be patient with yourself and kind to your neighbors and family. We’ll talk again soon.

End all lockdown. Fully open all schools to normal schedule. 99..9% survive this virus and it can’t spread asymptomatically. Get a different medical opinion from the one that is on TV. Doctors and studies tell us asymptomatic spread doesn’t exist with covid.

What would lead me to take a mass made and rushed drug with experimental technology that will protect me for half a year that has already harmed thousands and killed hundreds?

Our mayor should speak out against the fake pandemic covid hoax. Florida has few restrictions with fully open schools. The death rates are the same in California as in Florida, proving lockdown pointless. Humboldt has been in the most restrictive tier of lockdown, while it is a sparsely populated, remote rural area surrounded with rugged terrain.

Tampa Bay, Maimi and Orlando are not Humboldt! Humboldt should not have more restrictions then densely populated Florida! Put our children in school full time now. Open our churches and gyms now. Open any business fully now. Millions of lives have been shattered due to this awful fraud hoax tyrannical lockdown. Want to end Covid? Throw your TV out the window.

The global ruling class is beginning their take over into a new world system of technocratic slavery. The vaccine is first step; it will insert technology that will alter our DNA making people have advanced auto immune failure to future corona viruses. Refuse the vaccine, and get ready to run to the hills once mass death starts next year. We are lucky we live in this remote area. Densely populated areas will be militarized mass killing fields.

94% co-morbidty rate means 470,000 “covid” deathes had a complicating factor. The PCR is a complete fraud hoax set to different sensitivities while not testing for the covid virus! PCR tests for mucus production which could indicate any time of viral infection, common cold and flu included.

The flu disappeared for the first time ever this year! The PCR detected all flus as covid. “Cmon’ man!” Wake up people. Please stop denying evidence.

The vaccine only blocks symptoms according to the government. If the vaccine doesn’t stop infection or transmission, only blocks symptoms, and I can’t die from covid, what would cause me to take it? Why should we inoculate young people that can’t die from covid when the vaccine doesn’t ever stop transmission or infection, only blocks symptoms they have no chance of dying from?

None of this pandemic lockdown inoculation garbage makes any sense. There isn’t an end in sight. Variants, update shots, and biological passport are the admitted future. Covid believers are content to live with regular inoculation and restrictive lockdown for the rest of their lives.

Because the vast majority of coroners or their equivalents across the world are reporting COVID deaths. You can go to a county in Arkansas and see what the Coroner reported there and you can go to small towns in Greece and communities in Nigeria and find local reports of COVID deaths. How in the heck can thousands of medical and death professionals in nearly every country in the world all be magically made to say the same untrue thing.

That you would rather believe that thousands of unconnected people speaking all the different languages of the earth are somehow in a conspiracy together rather than the truth that there is a pandemic where a half million in the US alone have died when there have been pandemics about every hundred years throughout known history boggles a sane mind. And it boggles the mind of anyone who has ever been on a committee of more than 5 people. Trying to get a relatively small number of people to all agree to what is true is hard enough. Trying to get a large number of people to all agree to tell the same lie is impossible.

Kym, I’m surprised. This is really elementary critical thinking.

The ONLY way to know if they “had covid” when they died was to test them.

Do I really need to go further(again)?

I replied to your comment on a previous thread linking to information on cross-reactions of PCR tests, with a nice pretty table showing exactly zero were found during extensive testing, showing that the test was extremely specific to covid, with no false positives for other viruses including other coronaviruses.

Yes…kinda. And I replied to that.

Have a gander.

Keep propping up your “test is valid” story.

And I’ll keep knocking it down.

Again it’s really simple (everyone listen):

The rtPCR test “kits”, as recommended from the w.h.o, are pre-set to a Ct (cycle threshold) value of 40. Usually. This represents an extreme amplification.

Even fauci (and many others) points out that a Ct above 35 is going to generate a false-positive. The test will be too sensitive and will show dead viral particles which could be from any virus.

Even IF it was from covid, there is nothing that should be “positive” about dead viral particles. And in an asymptomatic person.

Apologies. But DUH.

Lockdown mandates and covid restrictions come from WHO, UN, and other global governing bodies. Countries don’t have a choice how to act. There are a very few wealthy elite that are controlling the covid pandemic.

Real pandemics have occurred in the past, yes. Covid does not have the death rate of those earlier pandemics. 500,000 people have not died from covid. 90% of those deaths were caused by something else.

I agree that people are getting sick from a genetically modified virus out of a Wuhan lab. This virus has a 99.9% survival rate. The best defense against covid is a healthy immune system.

Elderly people with weakened immune systems can die from this virus if they are ventilated. Elders need vit D and C, plus fresh air and walking, not harsh poisons. If elders become sick they can take oral steroids and other remedies. The government wants them ventilated and will pay extra money to a hospital if a covid patient dies on a ventilator.

The vaccine is meant to weaken us. Major doctors are coming forward stating the mRNA technology causes severe auto immune responses in vaccinated people once exposed to a cold virus. The vaccine only blocks symptoms . The vaccine doesn’t block transmission making masks and social distancing still necessary.

The global elite have written policy papers talking about global pandemics, millions dying, forced inoculation, mandatory checkpoints and biological IDs. The pandemic lockdown great reset has been planned for decades. We are being transferred from citizenship and independence into a world of servitude and dependence on an universal income. The modern world is being collapsed by the global ruling class to bring in a new system of one government technocratic slavery.

The flu disappeared this winter? The PCR detected the flu cases as covid. The PCR doesn’t test for covid, it tests for mucus.

Masks don’t work. Fauci said we shouldn”t wear masks in an outbreak, because they can’t stop a virus, only droplets.

The covid drug will dramatically weaken immune systems to new colds and flus. Vaccine whistleblowers are warning that the drug will cause allergic reaction to common household products such as salt and vinegar. The covid drug is an eugenics tool to genetically alter our DNA so that human immune systems will become overwhelmed.

The lockdown restrictions are nonsense. Miami and Orlando are not Humboldt. These densely populated cities have less restriction and fewer deaths than remote and desolate Humboldt. Lockdown doesn’t work. Masks don’t work. How can we lockdown in our small rural area when cites are open with the same cases and deaths. Stop all lockdown. End all mask mandates.

Biden had 800 live viewers for his most recent covid address. There were over 1 million live viewers for Trump’s CPAC speech tonight. Trump is massively popular. The capitol riot fake impeachment hoax only strengthened the President. Democrat impeachment managers openly altered evidence, then ended the trail a week early after Trump lawyers were set to call hundreds of witnesses, include Rep. Pelosi.

Where are the Biden supporters? Biden can’t think or even speak, and he supposedly won the most votes ever in US history? Secret Service inside sources inform that Biden is almost completely incapacitated and receiving multiple injections a day. Biden has openly begun wars, sending troop convoys and missile strikes into Syria. Biden canceled over 50,000 jobs with Keystone pipeline. Biden has tripled prescription drug prices. The price of fuel has exploded under Biden.

Biden has critically weakened our southern border. Biden paid more money to halt construction of the border wall then to just go ahead and build what was already planned. Biden laid the Border Patrol off and made them stand down. Migrant hordes funnel toward our southern board. Child trafficking has skyrocketed due to Biden’s border collapsing polices.

Biden has entered into a toothless global climate agreement that will drastically weaken domestic business competitiveness. China, Russia and India are not it the worthless global climate deal, and are allowed to produce energy 3X cheaper than the US.

Biden is purposely weakening the US and imploding the dollar. Once the covid drug has been inserted into half of the population, mass death will occur, bringing about brutal martial law and financial collapse. Biden is a puppet of the global ruling class in their effort to murder millions of people and bring about a one global government: a new world order.

Trump won in a landslide. There is overwhelming evidence of fraud documented in sourced reports and expert testimony,

https://www.newsweek.com/goya-foods-ceo-robert-unanue-lauds-trump-real-legitimate-president-cpac-1572672

Goya Foods CEO Robert Unanue openly declared massive 2020 voter fraud and that Trump won in a landslide tonight at CPAC.

https://www.azmirror.com/2021/02/26/judge-sides-with-senate-says-maricopa-must-turn-over-election-materials-for-audit/

A physical audit has yet to be preformed in any county, even with massive evidence of fraud. Corrupt and compromised state judges blocked investigation into voter fraud after the 2020 election. Finally Arizona will be the first state to open up the ballots to be able to truly uphold voter integrity.

It does matter how many people watch President Trump. He won the election. Trump is overwhelming popular. 90% of Republicans want Trump as the leader. Trump stands for cheap energy and strong borders. Something every other country in the world does, besides the US.

It’s important when major CEOs are stepping up to point out overwhelming evidence of voter fraud. Just because Inskeep or Cooper say “false claims,” doesn’t address mountains of evidence and expert testimony that the election was stolen.

There hasn’t been an evidentiary evaluation of voting fraud evidence. Maricopa county will be the first look at actual physical ballots. Corrupt state judges dismissed cases of fraud based on technicalities, denying actual rock solid evidence. There are sourced reports detailing voter fraud across multiple states. There are Colonels, MIT profs, and rocket scientists detailing evidence of voter fraud in 2020.

We should uphold voter integrity. Trump is massively popular. Biden can not draw even hundreds to his rallies. It’s obvious who actually won the election. Trump earned more black votes, more latin votes, more female votes and more LGBTQ votes than any other republican candidate in US history. Trump is the great unifier and a true populous candidate that the establishment had to remove illegitimately.

Biden is a pro war, anti border, anti cheap energy, pro racist, pro child molestation, decrepit, compromised and senile traitor.

Although it is wrong to say that 99% of covid deaths are because of other things, it is also wrong to say 500,000 people died of covid-19 as if there was no SARS-COV-2, all those people would now be alive. A share of those people would be dead of other things. It’s complicated.

What surprised me was the percentage of actual to expected deaths give by the Society of Actuaries was higher for people under 64, not the older people most likely to have accumulated comorbidities. While the percentage of deaths were higher for older people, the effect of covid was more on people 15-64 were had been less likely to die of anything.

Actual to Expected Deaths: Mar 22 2020 to Dec 26 20201
Age Total
64 119.8%

You missed the point- possibly because a good share of the quoted stats disappeared when I posted but more likely because you wanted to. The percentage of excess deaths were higher in people under 64 but over 15. People who would not have normally had so many comorbidities as older people. The reality is that excess deaths are an important what for public health decisions. It shows whether something extraordinary is going on.

I suppose it’s the difference between seeing a difference in auto accident deaths involving crashes from one car brand brake failures and ones following demographics after a long winter ice storm. Of course the deaths are to be reported but the most useful cause for action comes from the first cause, not the second.

Another [edit]message from your sparkly information-fairy Mayor!

Thanks for continuing to tell us to wash our hands, and I would like to inform you that:

If the kids go to school, the staff will have an increased COVID exposure rate!

We know that the Superintendent of Schools hates leaving “money on the table”, and that schools are operated for profit, and not for the benefit of the students or the staff, but, I want all the teachers to know that now is the time to take medical leave, paid time off, and extended vacation, because the parents are champing at the bit to get the little monsters out of the house! Good luck teachers and staff, hope you were given the vaccine!

Meanwhile, back in Eureka, Susan now says you can open up, like she has any authority over it, and, you can go out and resume your daily life, such as it is, in beautiful Eureka…

Thanks for allowing all this, Susan Seaman, Mayor, and, we hope you will find something actually under the purview of your office, to cover in your next [edit]message…

And when a victim’s family wants to name the deceased like today? Or when someone wants to chime in with their experience dealing with a road issue? Or someone wants to add a photo of the snow levels, or the bobcat they saw or the experience they had with the Rohnerville Police Department that led to them becoming one of the members of a lawsuit against the department?

Really, this is not an ivory tower. We welcome the community to talk. And, yes, some members of this community are unpleasant. But what is with folks wanting to pretend that everything is unicorns and roses? Really?

On an adult site, Hopefully most of can, in an adult fashion, sort out who seems believable or not. Can’t we take responsibility for what we believe and how we fact check? Or does this community really need me to play Mama Censor?

I try to set ground rules with a light hand. But I have no plans to close down this valuable resource because some people are not capable of handling people posting absurd ideas. We as a society need to get a grip and learn to fact check and stand up for truth not clutch our pearls and scream when someone says something we think is wrong.

Saying “an adult site” might give people the wrong impression of what kind of content you’ll be posting. 🙂

Unfortunately, it seems that some people are really bad at sorting out who seems believable or not. For example, they put random crazy people on youtube ahead of peer-reviewed science, repeatedly, every day. I blame it on religion. Kids are brainwashed into thinking the random crazy person with a collar is right no matter how insane their ideas are, then they grow up and and think other random crazy people are right no matter how insane their ideas are…

As to standing up for truth, I’m starting to get burnt out with correcting people who post the same obvious mis-truths over and over and over and over and over and over and over and I’m sick of typing and over, even after people explain exactly why it’s not true… it’s obvious at that point that they’re being malicious, not just illiterate or incompetent.

Yep, I am too busy and too burned out. But I’ll just trundle along doing the best I can. However, I sure appreciate you big strong man pointing out everything you grasp so well to little ole me. I don’t know how a fragile old lady like me ever got along without some smart man like you coming along and urging people to take their business elsewhere. Your thoughtfulness and support have been really helpful.

It’s actually too bad that these kinds of commenters have put Kym between a rock and a hard place. I don’t know what the answer is. Around 5 years ago Loco threads were pretty jovial, interesting and light-hearted until a commenter entered the picture with non-stop harassment of targeted commenters. This person was doxed in the threads because the harassment was so out of control, the ill intent so obvious. This person is still there and here, this person uses more names and email addresses that I don’t know how he keeps track. If they have to keep making up new names and using new email addresses to get around being banned on the regular you’d think that would be a giant hint to knock it off. But no, the persistence is in the realm of serious psychopathy.
I don’t really know what Kym can do with such a person.

Harassment and Bullying shouldn’t be tolerated, IMO and has little to do with free speech. Freedom of speech doesn’t give another the right to harass and bully. Too bad there isn’t an individual block function. I think that might help tremendously.
Maybe commenters could request individual blocks to reply’s if they feel they don’t want to be referred to or talked to from other commenters. It’s fairly simple to scroll past info and general rambling. It should probably apply to both commenters who would then be requesting Blocks maybe..

I realize a block function is out of grips most likely. It would have to be done the good old fashion way.

Manually.

Is it Censorship? not in my eyes, it’s just an individuals right to refuse the conversation further..

So like if I say.. hmm. I am annoyed by Commentor A or feel threatened or what have you.. I could request for example Mrs. Kym. Could you Please stop this commenter A from replying to me… Commentor B would then also be stoped from replying to the other. Commentor A as well.

Couldn’t it be a simple request to fill? The blog is moderated anyway. And hopefully there wouldn’t be a lot of requestsz Just a thought. Blocking people has its merits. I don’t have any blocking requests at the moment. Of course.. if people are so offended and want a block function they can always refer to your Facebook page.. if they are uncomfortable with anonymous commentary..

As far as I know, you are asking for something that has never been done before…me somehow making it so person A never sees Person B’s comments. I can’t even conceive of how that would work. We don’t have blocking functions like Facebook does.

Maybe I am not making my point clearly. I totally understand your busy, and limited on time.. I guess I am just suggesting some sort of anti harassment and bullying policy. Valued civility may not be strong enough for some folks. I am not suggesting hiding all comments from those who are offended. Just from unwanted reply’s or responders if it’s requested Maybe it’s silly. But I think a lot of blogs have anti bullying and harassment policies in place. You would think people could act like grown ups.. for the most part they do.. course that’s all u need is a bunch of crying Karen’s. Hopefully people wouldn’t request at any little disagreement or at all.. but at least u have it if scenario’s escalate to obscurity..Just a thought. Good luck with it all anyhow.

Pretending things don’t exist has solved so much before, right?

These are good, honest people, who use 3 names for 3 days before switching all 3 again, who just happen to know all the illuminati secrets of global control and depopulation while not knowing Trinity is a landlocked County….

I’ve deliberately avoided responding to your comments but enough is enough.

From the first comment I made on this site regarding Covid that you didn’t like you accused me of being Sid.
You falsely accused several other people as well and after months of it the people here got fed up and started speaking out.

Then you started asking Kym how to go back in time so you could turn people into the FBI a threat I would have banned you for in a heartbeat.

Since Sid doesn’t work for you anymore now you’re on to trolls.

I suspect you take up more of Kym’s time than everyone else here together.

Now that Kym refuses to completely rearrange her website to your liking you threaten her with taking her readership to another site.

Nice of you to Bully her to get your own way just like a 2 year old in the candy lane at a grocery store.
Aren’t you proud of yourself?

Sorry Kym I’ll go back to ignoring him. I know you’ve said I complain but my main complaint has been about him. He acts like he owns this site and you work for him.

PS….
I don’t think he should be banned, just not catered to in his delusions and threats.

I do not respond to you anymore, either.

But I would like to clear one thing up.

I did not call you Sid, I called you another banned user who was “Sids” comment buddy.

I also referenced twice in the last bit how there was a Rosa Koire shadow here at RHBB, posting similar content here as to all of Rosa’s tweets.

Rosa is a notorious Northern California residing troll that has been written about extensively by northern California news outlets.

There is no reason to think she is not fucking with RHBB, especially after an old thread that you were supposedly not a part of.

I’m not a bully.

If I’m making absurd points with false information than everyone should ignore me, perhaps you’re chiming in now because I’m hitting the nail on the head.

Most of Your insinuations make no sense. Rosa Koire promotes her ideas on Agenda 21 under her real name. She is obviously way into what she is talking about and isn’t trying to promote her Ideals Anonymously.. why would she comment here anonymously? Your assumptions don’t fit the script on that level.

It’s fairly obvious to anyone who pays attention and has 2 brain cells that there is a Commenter or two that displays dissociative identity disorder (DID) on the regular. Even though it’s fairly odd..and socially frowned on.. There is not a policy against posting under different names.

Heck.. I walk past like 3 people who have conversations with themselves anytime I go to Eureka.. I generally ignore them too..

Good update Research. All just coincidental of course…..🙄

Unfortunately the dates are a bit scrambled, not in any particular order but it looks like most of those deaths occurred prior to 2/05. That’s about 1k deaths in six weeks. And at 1% being reported…..ouch.

The 2/18 is the “date entered” (recorded?)

Let’s hear about your fitness and nutrition routine mayor. Lead by example, right?

Can we question the quirky “rules” around policing everyone’s behavior in an effort to appear like we have control ? They are not congruent with intelligence.

10% occupancy no covid risk. 11%? We all die!

And everyone knows the general population sucks at math; throw percentages at them, all hell is sure to break loose.

So we wear a mask walking into a restaurant? We remove it at the table; waitstaff wears one while you dont. Oh, unless you walk to the bathroom…or get up to leave.

Logic and critical thinking are dead.

Not quite, Got Logic ?,

(The symbol is to differentiate between guests.)

The mortality rate in Humboldt is 24 per 100,000.
In NY it is 243.

100% occupancy here is the equivalent risk of 10% occupancy in NY.

If we only allow 10% here, the equivalent risk there would only allow 1% occupancy.

It would also do 10 times as much good to vaccinate them as it does to vaccinate us.

It also only makes one tenth the sense for us to get vaccinated as opposed to them.

To be equally effective, they need to be vaccinated at 10 times our rate.

If vaccinating Humboldt takes
7 months, then NY need to get ‘er done in 3 weeks.

That’s critical.
Is it logical?

What do you think?

Maybe that’s the kind of thinking that it will take to stop this.

No sense prolonging it.

Where it’s worst, deal with it first.

Except here of course: “It would also do 10 times as much good to vaccinate them as it does to vaccinate us.”

The “good” part…..

We’ll see.

I’m with Got Logic on the critical thinking factor and “guidelines” or rules as a whole.

Where I am [anti]social distancing and mask-wearing is mostly absent, generally speaking. No one is “dying from covid”, ICU’s and hospitals are empty, beaches, bars and reastaurants are bustling.

The fear factor diminished. Lots of handshakes, hugs and smiles.

Uh, you lost me on, “do 10 times as much good to vaccinate them as it does to vaccinate us….etc”

The experimental fake vax doesnt belong in any logic-based discussion. Its actual efficacy is unknown, and the long-term fallout (read:danger) from leaning on dosing our population with rushed mRNA sludge, for digging our way out of this viral storm, could be a dawning nightmare.

Imo, the unknowns far outweigh your mathematical gymnastics.

And….. the comorbidities remain, and by all counts continue to increase! California statistically is WORSE off than New York, if comparisons are your goal. But nationwide we are a collective embarrassment to the human body.

Ok Got Logic?, and 4Trinity,

You guys are really sticklers on vocabulary.

By “good” , I meant that figuratively.
It’s supposed potential for an improved outcome.

So, yeah, yeah, the vaccine will be just as risky there as it is here.

Risk versus gain. Humboldt vs NY.
10 vs 1.

So, yeah, maybe “good” and “vaccine” don’t belong on the same sentence.

So how about, whatever measures need to be taken, they make ten times as much sense there as here, or conversely, only one tenth as much sense here as in NY.

And you both misunderstand me if you think I don’t understand the vaccine is of dubious value and represents a potential disaster waiting to happen.

Especially in Humboldt, where initial statistics showed dying of Covid19 was only 4 times more likely compared to two vaccine doses.

And no, Got Logic?, California’s Covid19 mortality rate is 130 per 100,000, while NY is 243, so we as a state, are not WORSE off. It’s 24 in Humboldt.
Hawaii has fared the best as a state at 31.

(New Jersey is the worst at 260)

Consider that a virus’s spread compounds like interest, the higher the number the faster. The potential for increase is greater.

So deal with the hotspots first, and throw everything at it.

As far as both of you disagreeing with me when my whole point was that Humboldt might as well be opened 100%, and that because of our low mortality rate we should not be subjected to the same regulation as the places where it is the highest, you undermine yourselves.

I’d say over 5m. The high estimates I’ve seen say around 1/4 of the population has actually had covid already. I don’t think that’s correct, due to disagreeing with observations (for example, the recent care home outbreak where virtually everyone got it – assuming you’re unlikely to get it twice, that would mean virtually no one had had it before), and their usually coming from known-biased sources, but I’ll use it so no one can complain about it. The various medical therapies we’ve had time to develop have been shown to reduce deaths by at least half. If 100% of people were infected, before we had time to develop these therapies that lower deaths by 50%, and with 25% infection giving 500k deaths, that would be 500k / .25 / .5 = 4m deaths. But, that’s still assuming people receive hospital care. Had everyone gotten infected at once, the vast majority of people would have been unable to receive medical care. If that doubled the death rate, that would put it at 8m.

This can be confirmed with death rates in other countries… for example, in Lombardy, Italy, the hardest-hit area, about 0.3% of the entire population died of covid mostly in a single pre-lockdown outbreak – but only a fraction of the population has been infected. A october serology study estimated 38% of Lombardy residents have had covid. Extrapolating, and using the US population, would be close to 3m American deaths – but again, even though Italy had to do some “care rationing” (i.e. letting people die without receiving medical care), it was still far from the all-out failure of the medical system that would have happened without lockdowns – and would have likely at least doubled the deaths.

Initial studies were predicting 3-5m deaths without lockdowns. The evidence is they were fairly accurate.

Our 7-day average is still over 2000 deaths a day. It’s pretty unlikely we won’t pass 600k even with everything we’ve done…

✝️,

But if we’ve done so well, please explain how we have 4% of the world’s population, and yet, over 20% of the deaths?

525,947 deaths.

Over 5 times our share of deaths, of the world combined.

And we did good?

That is totally backwards.

If we did even the same as the rest of the world at slowing it down, wouldn’t it be more like one fifth of what it is?

105, 371.

4% of the world’s death toll of 2,546,610 is 101,864.

Pretty close to 105,371.

At 4%, we would have had 424,083
less deaths.

That would just be just doing only as as well at prevention, on average, as the world population has done as a whole.

We have done only one fifth as well as the world, whose numbers we, consequently, actually have made look worse.

The additional 424,083 deaths over average represents16.67% of total world deaths.

Not only are we making ourselves look bad, we are doing so badly that we are making the rest of the world look nearly 20% worse.

Yes, nearly 20% worse, not just16.67% worse.

The worldwide number of deaths would have been only
2,122,527, if we had held the 4% average, times 20% would be 424,505.

We had 424,083 excessive deaths.

Pretty close to 20%.

Pretty bad.

To say we slowed it down in America is completely unbelievable.

Completely.

There you go again with the “died of covid”. No one REALLY knows.

At least use “possibly”, Bushy.

It gives your point a little ground to stand on.
