A year ago today, 38-year-old Nick Vigil left his mother’s home in Fortuna without letting her know where he was going. He hasn’t been seen since. A rally today in his honor is being held near the intersection of Main and 12th in Fortuna not far from the Police Department in hopes that someone who saw something will step forward.

Below is a recap of what we know:

Vigil’s vehicle, a gray 2006 Ford F250, was discovered abandoned near Weitchpec the evening of the day he was last seen.

According to his mom, Vigil had been in Las Vegas for a mixed-martial-arts event and had won a significant amount of money not long before he disappeared. She remembered that he got home around 3:00 a.m. on the night of February 24 and was out the door early the next morning.

Vigil is 6’ 1’’, weighing 250 lbs, and has brown eyes. His mom said he shaves his head and doesn’t have a beard or a mustache.

If anyone knows anything about Vigil’s whereabouts, please contact the Fortuna Police Department at (707) 725-7550.

Thank you Jesse Armstrong for holding up the poster of Nick Vigil. I pray that Nick will be found soon, and he will be alive. I pray that this effort will bring forth a witness or two that has an idea as to where Nick might be. If you are a witness please come forward with the information you have. Share with Nick’s family or the Fortuna Police Department. Nick’s faith my rest in your hands.
