Employee Foils Attempted Robbery

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Dylan AndersonOn February 25, 2021, at about 5:00 a.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a gas station on the 1000 block of Broadway for the report of an attempted robbery that had just occurred.

The employee stated an unknown male suspect entered the store claiming to have a firearm and demanded money. The employee further stated that he hit the suspect causing him to fall to the ground in an attempt to stop the robbery. The suspect then fled on foot.

Officers located the suspect a few blocks away thanks to the assistance of several witnesses. After a brief struggle, the suspect was detained and identified as 27-year-old Dylan Anderson of Eureka. Anderson was positively identified by the employee as the suspect. Anderson was placed under arrest and booked into the Humboldt Country Correctional Facility for robbery and resisting arrest.
