Fifth Annual Zero to Fierce Womxn’s Festival
Press release from Coast Central Credit Union:
March 8th through March 14th, 2021, Playhouse Arts produces the Fifth Annual Zero to Fierce Womxn’s Festival. The theme of this year’s online celebration, beginning on International Women’s Day, Monday, March 8th, is Womxn as Activists. Playhouse Arts has brought together an array of performing and visual artists as well as chefs, faith leaders, scholars, and social activists to celebrate the power of love, community and womxn.
There will be plenty of chances for people to gather online, with almost all events being free. The Zoom online platform allows participants to stream all day, or drop into individual events that provoke their curiosity. Playhouse Executive Director, Jacqueline Dandeneau says. “I want to talk with others and be challenged to find loving solutions. Fierce loving solutions. And laugh. And sing. And eat good food. This is what the festival does for many people.”
With artists from Humboldt County and around the continent, the festival features a musical performance on Saturday, March 13th of new solo releases by Allison Russell. She has been named one of the Top 12 Artists to Watch in 2021, by Rolling Stone Magazine. Oh bxy! A chance to get all the xirls together for some fun! Enjoy lxdies!
Go for it. We are blessed to live in a country which allows people to be who they are, explore themselves and be able to listen to others who share the same ideas. People do not need to make fun of them, or question them. They are brave, intelligent, and powerful. I hope some nit wit cancel idiot does not try to shut them down. Whether they are trump people, or these womxn, we can leave each other alone, and be glad no one can stop us. Enjoy
IDK The rush to redefine everyone to fit their individually chosen identity seems to have a goal of stereotyping everyone rather than freeing everyone. If someone finds a difference in what they want in a categorization, they simply create a new category. Seems a silly waste of time. An confirmed individualist is not interested in knowing to which group they belong as much as they are in belonging to themselves.
Real Women can’t use testosterone to compete against chxcks with dxcks and Bxlls in competition.
The definition of insanity right there.
IDIOTS thrusting the xnglish language into a transhuman future.
Disgusting.
It is my opinion that many of these womxn who want the influence of males to be neutered, will also find a man, hook up, and then attempt to control everything he does, for the rest of his life!
All human trophoblasts, are female. Really, males are half-female! (XX vs XY) Same insides, same brain, just different plumbing and hormone levels…
The human race will only evolve when people get together and try to care about each other. Changing the spelling of words in service of separating the genders further, seems unnecessarily divisive, but, if it makes you feel better for a minute or two, go for it ladies!
Why are so many men so afraid that women will magically force them to be people they don’t want to be? If certain kind of man gets angry with a woman, he blames women for forcing him to get angry. If he loves a woman, he certainly doesn’t blame her for making him be loving. Or maintains that women are weak and foolish but then gets angry if they aren’t? If being a man is really his ideal, what he really wanted, he certainly has other options for a relationship than a woman. It’s schizophrenic. Men are so irrational. Oh well. At least they are consistently inconsistent.
It’s those raging hormonal influences. Or, lack of sex…
In actual fact, nothing ever goes wrong with men, and they are fantastically smooth, emotionally. Lack of sex causes all the problems… Well, alcohol causes a few of them…
OH and womxn, if you ARE a womxn by birth, females, as my father called them, are all over the place emotionally, hormonally, and in their expectations! This is part of their charm! That and boobs…
If womxn had any idea what they want, it would be easier to be a man! We just assume that womxn want everything in the world that men can possibly imagine, either that, or she just wants to have a baby…
Whatever. If men were the irrational ones, then they wouldn’t be able to “mansplain” so well…
You probably just haven’t met the right guy, yet… As a matter of fact, young guys are rational, but they ain’t about shit, and, they are just in need of sex!
It’s all a conundrum, a problem with no solution, so, if what you actually want is a man, you should aim higher, and if you want a man, and, you were born actually female, maybe you should practice with a womxn until you get the hang of it…
There used to one great guy available, but then I got married… I think I was the only one…
I hope this helps!
Please advise as to the pronunciation of “womxn.”
Then, if you wish, explain why anyone would want to write a word that nobody can pronounce and that symbolically deepens the divide between the two sexes.
Anyone?
It’s pronounced the same as “woman” and yes, I find this a bit silly.
The term “womxn” is inclusive to trans womxn, womxn of color. We respectfully acknowledge that not all womxn have periods, and not all people with periods identify as womxn.
Definitions from dictionary.com
womxn [ woom-uhn ]
noun, plural wom·xn [wim-in] .
a woman (used, especially in intersectional feminism, as an alternative spelling to avoid the suggestion of sexism perceived in the sequences m-a-n and m-e-n, and to be inclusive of trans and nonbinary women).
From Wikipedia:
I keep trying to post this but it never shows up…just wanted to clarify some things…maybe I am posting incorrectly?
The term Womxn is an alternative term for the English language word women which has been regularly in use since 2015 to explicitly include transgender women and women of color.[1] It has been used in a similar manner as womyn and wimmin, as a rejection of the folk etymology of ‘woman’ allegedly being ‘of man’.[2] Due to transgender women and women of colour’s perceived exclusion from the usage of these respellings, an “x” is used to “broaden the scope of womanhood,” to include them.

Jacqueline, a new commenter is held by my software until I can moderate and I needed to take family to the dentist a three hour round trip away today so comments took a long time to appear. I’m sorry. I’m sure that was frustrating.
We greatly appreciate the hard work that you do Kym, and the fact that human beings are not machines to always be immediately available to all commenters!
So being a black or Hispanic woman is equivalent to being transgender? I suspect that some of them might take offense at that suggestion.
Everyone acknowledges that not all women have periods. In what way is this term more inclusive for women”of color” (horribly offensive tern btw!)
We teach children at our freedom schools, that if you are born female, you are female, male, you are male. Nothing wrong with that, and we do not have to accept anything else. If someone wants to identify as what ever they want, it is ok for THEM. The rest of us will be receptive to how we were created, and honor that. We cannot be forced to believe otherwise, nor will we. Identifying as one sex or another does not make you that sex. We also teach that there is no such thing as white priveledge. A group of people were at a school board mtg were told the reason parents wanted their kids in school, was because of white privledge, a black woman said no, I want my kids in school too. Or our children cannot watch Kermit the frog, as it is hostile to some. Our kids watch it all the time. If YOU do not want YOUR kids to watch it, they do not have to. But any kid that wants to, can. Cancel culture is nothing more than fools who think a certain way, and have the right to impose their beliefs on others, and they do not. Cancel the cancel culture. Hey lumber, timber!

It’s short, grammatically poor, and has some real gems such as:
“We hope to end period poverty by giving free menstrual cups to all womxn, while being an inclusive organization.”
What is someone who identifies as a woman but doesn’t menstruate supposed to do with a menstrual cup?
This is why America is dying. Killed by post-feminists and the gender confused. Metoo has become MeOnly. Hate on everything and everyone else. Even Rose McGowan fled to Mexico. Ugh
Damn it women and gender “confused” it’s all your fault America is failing! The homelessness, the drugs, the failing of infrastructure, global warming, mass gun deaths and shootings, rampant suicides, over incarceration, poverty, healthcare being a privilege of few, 500,000 Covid deaths, the fact a living wage and any sort of chance of retirement doesn’t actually exist anymore, global warming!! For fuck sake women and “gender confused” I almost gotta hand it to you. I mean despite having little to no representation in or role in decision making on any level for most of history and you still managed all of this mismanagement. The poor innocent men, no wonder they knew they had to storm the capitol. The torture they’ve been through having their inflated self worth deflated by the mere pursuit of equality is just too much for them.
Hear hear !!
No worries. Just didn’t know the protocol. Thanks for everything you do.
What the hell is a womxn?
“How do you say the word “womxn”?
I don’t.
While I accept a variety of sexes and a spectrum of genders, there is one thing I am binary on-
Consonants are consonants, and vowels are vowels, and never the twain shall meet.
Except sometimes Y.
Damit”
From the interwebs.
I have a longer rant about the idiocy of womXn, but yeah, too dumb to bother with right now.
Isn’t the point just to keep dividing us until each person becomes a unisex, masked, isolated “being” called “IT” that has no connection to Other ITs?
Cancel Culture will cancel us all eventually.
Hmm…
I recall when you could have a festival just to enjoy people coming together to enjoy life. You didn’t need a division for an excuse.
Multi racial families came together after soccer games and shared their native meals at pot luck dinners, they laughed together ah, those were the days.
The rest of the rant….
For starters, trans ALREADY identify as women.
Efforts to seem *woke* are embarrassing. And in this case trash a perfectly suitable word.
The word is Woman, referring to an individual of the feminine gender. or Women, if it’s the plural of the same word.
If you are referring to a bunch of humans, male and female, the generic words are: persons or humans (or humanity) or individuals… depending on the context.
Why disempower women to suit an unnecessary agenda?
Changing a word changes nothing. And in my opinion actually serves to exclude, as trans women aren’t a special, separate category. And I’m a woman, and honestly getting pretty bored with all the nonbinary denial of womanhood, so I guess this excludes me and lots of other people that dont devote endless energy to contemplating their navel, and then making everyone around them adapt to their quirky feelings.
Because in truth i’m likely more man than many men, but I own my womanhood. Tis a shame so many wish to erase our nuanced presentations.
IMO the use of the non-word womxn makes the event look pretentious and weird.
I’ll be a womxn when men become mxn. Until then idiotic attempts to rewrite the English language to support some quirky obsession with gender and race can just jog on and stop eroding actual women and our rights.
