68,217 Marijuana Plants Located in Fortuna Storage

Marijuana

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On Feb. 2, 2021, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served one search warrant to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation at a storage facility on the 100 block of Airport Road in Fortuna in response to numerous community complaints.

One parcel was investigated during the service of the warrant. The parcel did not possess the required county permit and state license to cultivate cannabis commercially.

During the service of the warrant, deputies eradicated approximately 68,217 growing cannabis plants. Deputies also seized and destroyed over 338 pounds of packaged, manicured cannabis bud, approximately 137 pounds of dried cannabis and over 107 pounds of cannabis shake.

Seven individuals working at the cultivation site were detained, including one juvenile. The person responsible for the cultivation site was not located on scene. The detained individuals were released following the conclusion of deputies’ investigation. The juvenile was released into the custody of a parent.

No arrests were made; however, this case will be forwarded to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.

Anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity is encouraged to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

According to the release, approximately 68,217 plants were eradicated. That’s funny. Approximately 68,217.

But I thought everyone in Fortuna worked a honest 9 to 5 and went to Church on Sundays?

Nope, it’s pretty much 100% relevant. Fortuna is friendly if your a white Christian. And it is NOT 1/2 Mexican. Have you actually been to Fortuna?!? It’s like Pawnee Indiana on Parks and Rec. 1/2 FAT white folks maybe.

1/2 fat folks or only Fortuna’s white folks are fat? Are fat Mexican people OK? Fat Samoans? Or are all FAT people not to your standards in general?

I’m guessing you may have problems with class issues in general and overcompensate for that in other ways. Maybe.

Fortuna is just over 20% Latino (mainly, but not entirely, Mexican). Interesting that you’d round it up by more than doubling it… http://www.city-data.com/city/Fortuna-California.html

Before you post, do your research. “20.2% of the people in Fortuna, CA are hispanic (2.45k people). The following chart shows the 7 races represented in Fortuna, CA as a share of the total population.”

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the post, but just so I’m straight. It’s okay to call someone a white church-going Republican but not okay to call someone a Mexican? Even if they are? So it’s not racist to refer to somebody’s color as a description, but it is racist to refer to one’s ethnicity as a description? I’m just confused because I always thought the definition of racism was thinking that one race was inferior to another, not the use of a person’s race as a descriptive term.. The real ironic thing is most people from Central and South America are way more religious than white north Americans..

How long until they raid the actual units at Airport Road & Storage? That place smells awful inside, especially the top floor. It’s either marijuana or someone’s been hoarding skunks for years.

I’m just pokin’ fun. Let’s stir some shit up.

Mexicans historically have been welcome in Fortuna because they provide cheap labor for local businesses.

They owner of this grow wasn’t located because he ran into a little trouble at the Clan Rally on US Capitol grounds.
Still in FBI custody for breaking and entering a Federal building.
They were going to use weed profits to pay for legal fees. Since Trump didn’t pardon any if the insurrectionists.

The owner is vacationing in Belize for the next couple months. He has made millions off of that storage unit. He is an LA transplant, but I will say he put down some good roots here.

Sheriffs missed an opportunity to take down several growers there. Just one grow, what a joke. Also it’s incomprehensible to me that FPD
has this right under there nose 50’ from city limits and these growers go on growing over and over, And they don’t pressure HCSD to close it down. BTW It’s most likely the third “grow and harvest” in a year anyway.

Absolutely amazing… Who is complicit here? How many benefited from the illegal operations here, and who in the government knew about it? Who was paid off, and, why did the police suddenly swarm in?

This is the face of why we can’t have nice things in Humboldt! Somebody is always setting up a grow that should be set up nearer to where the consumers are…

Obviously, pot farmers would rather be illegal, and not pay taxes or follow labor law. Grows like this one, probably exist in the thousands, and, there is nobody to enforce who isn’t paid off…

I’m grateful that the US government pays for my chronic. High quality bud that is safe from a dispensery, is about as moralistic as I figure I can be in the situation.

I get disability, I go to get medicine for my various fuckedupness, the money goes from the government, to my hands, to usually Humboldt Premium, I get medicine, the employ locals, I always tip big, so my disability gets split between the dispensary and they awesome dudes that work there.

Then those dudes pay bills, employ other dudes who buy stuff pay taxes, and the money trickles right back up to the government. Trickle up economics. This way I can feel good that yours all taxes are spent on my medicine, and then spread throughout the community.

I feel much better inside, and I feel much better knowing my son will grow up in a society is finally accepted mental health issues, and alternative medicines. To me, even tho I freely admit when it’s easier to spend more when it’s someone else’s money, that out weighs all the costs and negative aspects of the black market industry.

I don’t know thats just like..my opinion man.

It’s embarrassing that you would write such a response that you did! Your 50’ from this multi-million dollar ongoing crime and SAY ITS COUNTY PEOPLE! Not our problem. WOW WOW WOW.
