Hwy 101 reopened just before 4:30 p.m., according to Caltrans District 1 spokesperson Myles Cochrane.  Winter weather had shut down several sections between Cummings south of Leggett and north of Ukiah late yesterday afternoon.

Downed trees, power lines, and snow caused the initial problem but a number of vehicles stuck in the snow also needed to be cleared.

Thanks for covering the storm Kim. Can I ask if this is confirmed that 101 is fully open thru Humboldt and Mendocino now, because the Caltrans road conditions site (roads.dot.ca.gov) still shows two closures due to snow near willits. Maybe they have not updated?
