Wreck at Alderpoint Rd, Bell Springs Rd junction. Traffic snarled. Black Avalache over the bank. Injuries unknown, but none initially reported.
Its nasty up there, drifting snow and little to no visibility. Iced over pavement under the snow. Do not attempt if you don’t know the road and without 4×4 & chains on, even with that, I would just wait until morning. 3 trucks off the road between Dyerville loop and Bell springs, 2 of them a good ways down the hill. All occupants are safe and out. 3 sheriffs and 2 chp led a convoy of vehicles down the hill. Everyone had to stop just below Deyerville loop rd when a sheriff vehicle near the front of the line went off the road. They were able to pull him out, and everyone continued down hill. Be safe out there!!!
That sounds brutal.
The diesel spill rearing it’s ugly head. It floats to the surface.
Then you’ve got oil on ice.
By the Grace of God, no injuries.
Studded tires are cheap insurance.
I think I will just stay put for a while.
Slip n Slide meets Twister.
299 doesn’t look closed per Caltrans but it does say chain controls are in effect at Berry Summit, Oregon Mt, Douglas City, Buckhorn Summit, and Shasta Divide.
And a rock slide has 1 lane traffic 6.8 miles west of Willow Creek.
