Multiple Search Warrants Repeatedly Find Drugs at Suspect’s Residence, Says DTF

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Dustin Lawler

Dustin Lawler

Since August of 2019 the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) has served three search warrants on Dustin Lawler (36 years old Mckinleyville). The three search warrants were all served on his previous residence in the 3500 block of Dows Prairie Rd. in Mckinleyville. In January of 2021 the HCDTF received information that Lawler was now selling drugs out of a mobile home in the 1900 block of Palomino Ln. in Arcata. This address is located within the Lazy J 55+ senior living park. HCDTF agents conducted an investigation and were able to obtain a search warrant for Lawler and his residence.

On January 20th, 2021 special agents with the HCDTF served the search warrant on the residence. Lawler was detained on scene along with three other visitors. Agents conducted a search and located the following evidence:
* 629 Oxycodone pills
* 16 steroid/HGH pills
* 20 Xanax pills
* 85 misc. pills
* 7 grams heroin
* 2 grams methamphetamine
* two digital scales and packaging
* $4,980 in US currency

Lawler was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Jail for the following charges:
H&S 11351 Possession of controlled substance for sale
H&S 11375(B) Possession of controlled substance for sale
PC 12022.1 Committing a felony while out on bail
H&S 11366 Operating or maintaining a drug house

Lawler has shown a consistent pattern of selling drugs in Humboldt County with no intent to stop. Based off this HCDTF agents requested a bail increase for Lawler along with a requirement to provide proof of where bail funds were obtained from pursuant to penal code sections 1269/1275 PC. A Humboldt County Superior Judge signed the order and Lawler’s bail was raised to $360,000.

Anyone with information related to this investigation or other narcotics related crimes are encouraged to call the Humboldt County Drug Task Force at 707-267-9976.Drugs

Ridiculous. SOB just too stupid to either quit selling drugs, or get better at doing it. A good decade in prison might modify behavior.

It can be a hard business to get out of, even when you’ve been busted.
Folks won’t leave you alone until you Re up.
I had a friend that knew a guy.

Move into a retirement community and deal drugs? What could go wrong? Older people are never vigilant (or nosy, or observant, or…).

Alcohol is killing our children, too. But we realized prohibition kills far more people by creating a criminal black market.

I hope that he will see some actual prison time. Does anyone really think that you could sling drugs out of a 55 plus park (especially if you are in your 30s) and not have your neighbors call the popo?

Dealers seem to have little fear of the law around here. Something needs to change. I do not know the answer. All of my ideas would be considered to harsh in the liberals eyes and could never be implemented. I suppose that we will read about this guys next arrest in a couple of months.

I’m nearing 70 years old and have 3 children in their 30’s. Over the years I’ve seen a few of their friends and classmates from school go thru times like this person is. 2 are dead from overdose. A few have done prison time for theft, dealing drugs, parole violation and other offenses. I have had things stolen from me for drug money by a couple of them. Their actions alienated them from friends and family. They hurt others with their actions and lost peoples trust. They injured their own bodies and minds. 2 went to prison and then inmate fire crews and developed into good, drug free people with successful lives. A couple continue the on and off cycle of drug and alcohol abuse. Some worked out of their situation with treatment and support from family and friends and lead good meaningful lives. In the article in RHBB about the passing of Esteban Gongalez a person named William talks of the effect of kindness and advice given and how it helped him move on to a better life.
Yes things are bad for this guy, and for the people he hurts. Hope he finds a way out and beyond; others have and live much better lives for it.

Time to flush garbage down the proverbial toilet…

This is enough meth, etc. to hook every human being in Eureka, and beyond.

Most people would be put to death for this action, in many countries.

Not his fault the system doesn’t put him in a labor camp or keep him locked up. Not his fault the cops don’t crack his skull as a deterrent. No blaming this POS.

Three arrests with large amounts of hard drugs in less than a year and this clown is still free and out on the streets poisoning our kids and family members? Something is seriously wrong with our legal system. Seems like you could tie this guy to a fatal overdose and lock him up for a very long time.
