[UPDATE] Eureka Man Who Threatened to Shoot Anyone Wearing a Mask Drove a Bus With ‘Trump Won’ Painted on Its Side to D.C.

Trump Won

Screenshot of Channel 7’s post and mugshot of Darin Ward

“TRUMP WON! Follow me to D.C.” was painted on the side of the bus that Eureka man, Darin Ward, traveled in as he headed towards Washington DC on New Year’s Eve. (See video on MSN here.) He told reporters he hoped to be there on November January 6.

“I think it’s blatantly obvious that China Joe stole this election and Trump will be the President the next four years,” the interviewer reported Ward told him.

Whether Ward made it to D.C. in time to watch President Trump’s rally or not, Ward, who is an employee at a local business, returned to Northern California in time to be arrested early this morning for making “detailed and violent threats” towards “a government building and its staff in Eureka,” according to a press release from Eureka Police earlier today.

The prepared statement noted that 49-year-old Ward had made the threats in Weaverville, California on the 19th and was arrested not even 24 hours later with the help of multiple agencies including the FBI, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the Eureka Police Department and the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office.

According to spokesperson for the Eureka Police Department, Brittany Powell, “Ward specifically threatened to shoot up the government building, its staff, and anyone around wearing a mask.”

UPDATE: The District Attorney’s Office is not prosecuting. See the Times Standard piece by clicking here.

It’s such a convincing argument that your guy would be a better president by threatening to shoot people who don’t agree with you. There are words for that, as well: bully and even more so, fascist. Disagree and you die. Great presentation. Gotta admit, he is of the superior race. And such a good Christian, too.

In the Trump movement, we have authoritarian corporatism, opposition to democracy, liberalism, socialism and communism, opposition to news media, use of conspiracy theory, appeals to fundamentalist religion, extreme cronyism, nationalism, populism, racism and isolationism, use of paramilitary partisan street violence, use of romantic imagery of a non-specific time in the past when America was “great,” blaming the failures of capitalism of out-groups… am I missing anything?

Geist was being sarcastic. I agree with you though. That election boiled down to one state, and just over 500 votes and hangng chads, Brooks Brothers riot and a SCOTUS one off intervention …and as my husband said, “It’s not over ’til your brother counts the votes”. 🙂

Gore won the popular vote across the US.

That was sarcasm. Gore made a well-recorded and broadcasted gracious concession statement in which he disagreed with the decision that cost him the election and set us up for 9-11, the Bush Iraq invasion, Trump death-spiral from which Biden is pulling back on the joy stick as hard as he can; BUT Gore accepted the Supreme Court decision. Gore was brief and honorable. NO mention of Scalia’s non-judicious speculating about helping Bush Light. Gore won the popular vote by about a half million ballots. Yet he conceded.

Same thing with Hillary. Go ahead &@%# Republicans, play back Hillary’s gracious concession in which she said we owe Trump a chance to govern and “open minds.”

Now, Modern Republicans can’t accept the truth. Grow up and suck it up! tough it out, yeah, YEAH. Let’s skip the violence before it’s too late. Everybody. There are bad people on both sides, but Repubs lead in the “suck” category.

Authoritarian corporatism??? So Twitter, Google, Apple, etc. etc. etc. doing the lefts bidding and banning Trump and Trump supporters is part of the Trump movement? Derp!

Liberalism, socialism and communism? Part of the Trump movement-lol?

Conspiracy theory? You mean like systemic racism and rampant white supremacy?

Use of paramilitary partisan street violence? You mean like Antifa all summer long?

Blaming the failures of capitalism of out-groups? So a government-controlled monopoly of health care, schools, currency, private property, every aspect of business and personal life is your definition of capitalism?

Am I missing anything? As usual, you are missing everything.

1. If we had authoritarian capitalism, Trump would be empowered to firce corporations to do whatever he wanted. A private corporation can boot anyone for TOS violations.

2. “Opposition to democracy, liberalism, socialism and communism”

3. Yes, like the denial systemic racism exists. Y’know, black people couldn’t even apply for a home lone until the civil rights act. In a country where most wealth is inherited, that sort of shit reverberates for generations.

4. BLM had a lower homicide rate than the general population, by a lot. They also have legitimate grievances, unlike the coup mob.

5. Trump was blaming refugee caravans and pardoned The Swamp on his way out.

6. I trust the government to run hospitals, schools, healthcare, infastructure and currency more than I trust private industry. I don’t know of any American politician that favored abolition of private property, I think that’s another one of your conspiracy theories.

1.In your original statement you claim “under Trump we have authoritarian capitalism”. Now you’re saying “If we had authoritarian capitalism” etc. You’re not very good at debating, are you? The idea is to make the case that under Trump we have authoritarian capitalism (your original statement), not to argue two opposing points with yourself-LOL. Maybe TRB can help you out with some copy and paste.

2. Sooooo you’re against liberalism, socialism and communism but you want the state to control the currency, hospitals, schools and you don’t like capitalism? You’re arguing with yourself again. I’m embarrassed for you.

3.” In a country where most wealth is inherited”-Sorry. Wrong again. I know this hurts but your college classes are a waste of money, evidenced by your inability to make an argument. Here, let me make your rebuttal for you: American Experiment is a right-wing extremist group and should be banned by Google, but I’m not a fascist cause Google is a private company.

https://www.americanexperiment.org/2020/02/research-shows-that-most-of-americas-rich-earned-their-wealth/

4. So smashing windows, looting businesses and setting them on fire doesn’t constitute violence? Are you embarrassed yet?

5.Huh?

6. Health care is by no means private and the cost is skyrocketing. If schools weren’t failing so bad, you would understand that and we wouldn’t have a nation full of clueless, yet arrogant, millennial morons clamoring for socialism. Infrastructure is the governments job-DeRRRRRP! And our currency is falling like a stone. The inflation we are about to experience, brought on by government spending that you advocate, will bury the poor that you pretend to care about. AOC, the one you fantasize about being president, thinks owning property is evil. The rest of the communist scum in the Democrat party will admit they feel the same when it’s safe to do so.

Ah, another bully. Here’s the definition which you might want to actually read as it proves me correct. Of course you deny it. How could you agree to it. Your telling me to shut up fits the definition as well–telling people you don’t agree with to shut up.: Definition of fascism
1, often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Fascist refers to fasces, a bundle of sticks (in Latin). The point being that a single stick can be broken easily, but bundled together the sticks are strong. It’s a powerful image, whatever you think of what it’s come to refer to.

Created jobs, them lost them!
Threw people off food stamps, then had to put them back on food stamps!
Made the rich richer by cutting their taxes!
Contributed to a new housing bubble!
Eliminated dozens environmental, consumer and worker safety laws!
Replace NAFTA and TPP with a different set of acronyms!
Did I mention he created jobs before he lost even more jobs?
Increased our reliance on nuclear and coal at a point in history where green energy is actually cheaper.
Botched the nation’s Coronavirus response, leading to almost half a million deaths.
Incited a seditionist mob to attempt to liquidate the legislature.
Became the first president to be impeached twice, with a record number of votes from his own party.
Pardoned the swamp on his way out.

Unless the movement itself is extremist.

At what point is a group ‘extreme’?

I mean, 60 lost court cases and an obvious attempt to disrupt the electoral process with violence because they didn’t agree with said court cases because Trump told them not to…..

Is that ‘normal’ now?

As I told Mike the other day, not every Republican is extremist due to Trump’s and groups actions…

But not everyone is excused for niceties either.

I think the Republican party is what to watch.

If the Q parade grows in Congress and the Senate, and no one speaks up – then at what point is accepting extremism extreme?

Anyone who drew a line against the madness:

Not every Republican is an extremist….yet.

But many did not draw appropriate lines between them and an extreme President.

In the least, for everyone who cares for themselves and a truly healthy USA, there should be some serious introspection.

The Republican party is in dire straits.

Locally, they and the Democrats in unison, denounced the Capital riots. We saw the post here @ RHBB.

But, nationally the people that fomented the riots are still in power and still crazy.

Boebert, Graham and many others want Trump to be the GOP future.

Mitch wants to impeach him, rightfully.

WtF will happen in the next year(s)?

If Republicans don’t stand up now for their party, in the future any Republican just might be an extremist.

You do realize the precedent that would be set by impeaching a politician who showed support for a riot that ended with fatalities? I’m all for it but far is far. Impeach trump again but by the identical logic, Biden, kamala, pelosi and numerous others all showed support for riots that ended in fatalities. And to be crystal clear. I consider the riot on the capitol to be domestic terrorism. But under the same standards several of last years riots right the same legal definition word for word. Not one ration individual, not that there’s many of those here, cold dispute that. So when do we get to firing all of our politicians? because that would make my year.

I’m sure we can agree that none of the politicians you mentioned called for a ‘wild’ event that took place with them actually at the (BLM) riots, egging on the rioters?

Nor was BLM actively fighting for any politician at any riots.

“60 lost court cases…” False claim, associated with absurd conclusions and preposterous claims about the evidence.

Count the losses, if you dare. Understand that dismissals for timing, jurisdiction and other technicalities don’t reflect upon quantity and quality of plaintiff’s evidence.

“(O)bvious attempt to disrupt the electoral process with violence…” The only thing all reasonable people can conclude, absent any investigation, is that John Sullivan is obviously Putin’s Puppet.

No it is not foolsh to judge a movement by the extremists it creates. It is get fair to judge those that exhort people into violence even if they are busy disavowing it. Thus Trump does bare responsibility for encouraging those rallying to his call when he told them march to the Capitol Building. His rhetoric incited a few of that crowd to think that an escalation violence was supported. That he was surprised that some of the people used it as an excuse for using it as an opportunity for the violence that already part of their nature is only evidence of his lack of experience as a politician. He should have been aware of this component in his followers.

But this was a blip in the what is normally a very patriotic and law respecting group of people. The surprise is understandable even it doesn’t reflect a Lt of understanding. BLM on the other hand knew just where their overheated rhetoric would lead. Riot and destruction. It happened too many time to deny that this is a tool they consciously use. Minorities sometimes see this “No Peace Without Justice” as their only choice. They too have responsibility but at least there is not self delusional disavowal. Some truly believe it is their only option however others may judge otherwise.

But the worst by leaps and bounds is the Antifa or the BLM white groupies who borrow other people’s situation for emotional violence that is inherent in them but over which they cloak in virtue. To protest with BLM is maybe seen as an upright behavior but to engage in anarchists violence has zero to do with BLM and everything to do with their own innate ugliness. And those that encourage them and the press that excuses them are very much responsible for every bit of dirt done by them. The trail of destruction they have left behind should preclude that their behavior is a surpise to those that support them. The people who don’t condemn them are even more responsible for what is done. So yes, extremists are a reflection on those supporting them- only in this case self delusion is no excuse. Not only unembarassed support of violent but lying to themselves about it too.

Who are these people?

Reports of “eggs and rocks” will likely be overblown by commentors.

BLM has no reason for it and Denocratic offices were vandalized, including language on FOX that some protests were anti-Biden.

Why would BLM or Antifa do any of that now?

Sounds like anarchists, provocateurs or confused people….

To paraphrase Shakespeare- Some people are born to violence, some people achieve violence and some have have violence thrust upon them. And politics have nothing to do with the first two.

As for the reason why, it’s like why does a dog lick it’s ass? Answers- Because they can. “In various antifa online chatrooms, members described their dissatisfaction with Biden’s platform and chastised the Democratic Party’s supposed centrism.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/antifa-s-inauguration-day-message-we-re-not-going-anywhere/ar-BB1cYsO2 They have not been taken offline.

But I also do not like letting fools get away with dragging ordinary love of country and reasonable political comments into their sweeping condemnation. I do not like someone who paints a stupid slogan on the side of transport, intimating an intent of violence. But that doesn’t mean that I am required to support other stupidities just because they are stupid in another direction. No matter how much nose “the other dirdftion” makes.

Thanks for the months-old “news.” What about the antifa police that ejected the Trump Coupists from the capitol? Or the antifa FBI agents arresting suspected leaders? Or the antifa National Guardsmen, who were carefully vetted for the trait of not being a seditionist pile of shit?

I don’t see anything wrong with this guy, he sounds like a patriot, He was right, Trump did win the election.
These “violent threats” are nothing but unsubstantial allegations, none of this would hold up in court, This article is a smear attempt to take this guy who loves his country and to smear him as some sort of radical or anti American type. This is how the left would like to build its narrative. I highly doubt this guy was prepared to do anything violent, what a joke.

The only evidence you have that Trump won is that Trump says so. I do believe there is a lot of corruption in our government and in vote submitting but I can’t get my self to say it is wrong without more evidence than what I believe. This guy threatened the courthouse and the police so they arrested him. If he had only threatened people he probably would have been OK. He had no weapon, he waved no weapon and just made statements. Sometimes freedom of speech doesn’t exist and in the U.S. you can go to jail for saying something. Note: I am glad this guy is off the street but maybe he just needs some sort of counseling because he has a mental problem. Putting him in jail only delays a problem and may make him more of a problem when he gets out. Too many people have a lock them up attitude and that doesn’t solve the problem.

Dude looks like he was high as a kite on his way to the Capital, and coming down hard at his arrest.

The description in the Redding article adds to the idea of a ‘quick mover’.

The writing style of “Prove we did’nt. Or war”, also makes me think he was blitzed out of his mind.

There’s a few manic styles in that lettering. Quite a contrast to his “Trump Won” print.

And his punctuation on “did’nt” didn’t really show much off.

The 2 lanterns are meant as an ode to Paul Revere and the revolution.

The bus had to cost $45,000 or more in the last 10 years.

Everyone needs to stay vigilante against the biggest known threat to US Security and citizens safety ; The Conservative Right Wing Radicals, the ones here on this blog who have become even more enblazened in their threats of violence and deep rooted racism need to be vetted out and turned into the FBI. I have heard rumors that this man was a frequent commenter on this blog and made many racial slurs and xenophobe statements which could be taken as terroristic in nature. Keep your eyes and ears open. Many radical right wingers “Trump[edit]” reside in and around Humboldt County, when you see racist and terroristic threats of violence on this or any other blog or comment site do not hesitate to call the fbi Call 1-800-CALLFBI (1-800-225-5324) for the Major Case Contact Center.

One can be radically opposed to change, like how every other first-world country in the world has moved on to a single-player, public option or at least individual mandate healthcare system, but America continues with its mess of a private for-profit system with minor public safety nets, greater expense and worse outcomes. For example.

A radical conservative would rather live in a burning house than put it out or leave. That is the Trump’s republican party in a nutshell.

It’s fascinating how there are things said by Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi prior to the inauguration that aren’t being reported. Joe and Kamala ran on the “I will be the president for all Americans.” That must have been a lie, because before his acceptance speech he was on video stating he believes that “everyone who disagrees with him needs to be put in prison and reprogrammed.” Nancy was recorded on video stating that “every white man who disagrees with her is guilty if insurrection.” That’s a show stopper for me. I spent quite a bit of time reviewing Biden’s “things he is going to do during his first 100 days. I strongly disagree all of them.

I don’t have to say any more to make it clear your leadership (not mine) has declared war on me and the millions of people who disagree with him. What he appears to be ignorant of is that to be a leader, you must have people willing to work with you and follow your lead. Maybe you liberals are ready to follow him, but he has permanently burned that bridge with me. Any man who says what he said is a dictator, not a leader. He and Nancy can do and say anything they want, but I will not follow. I believe their words have reduced the United States to third world status.

I am a white male with a spotless record. I have never been a part of any of the protests. I have denounced the violence for all protests, including BLM and Capital. I have been employed in community service jobs my entire adult life (I’m closing in on 60) as well as volunteering thousands of hours to multiple community service organizations. I have even started my own community service projects. I was raised in a Christian home, with Grandpa a minister and Grandma a teacher and Bible worker.

Clearly, because I simply have a different belief system and have different values, these corrupt individuals consider me a criminal and want me locked up. The same can be said of millions like me.

This was likely not covered on regular media sources. I wouldn’t know because Suddenlink has discontinued NBC and CBS. However, it was reported by an individual rated almost 100% accurate and who is very honest. This was on Tucker Carlson Tonight 1/18/21.

As far as I am concerned, I will continue to live exactly as I always lived, serving my community. The difference is anything these individuals say will mean nothing. They have no power over me in any way eternally. God will be with me and my eternity is with Him. They are actually fulfilling part of Revelation in living color.

In what universe is it Presidential to say 75 million Americans need to be put in prison because they disagree? If you have read anything I have said, here or prior you know I never voted for Trump because he was Trump. I am a conservative because it fits my fundamental beliefs, none of which Trump had any power over. If you read true reviews, Tucker Carlson is verified by media reviews as more honest, ethical and correct than any other major news broadcast journalist from any source. However, I was a conservative before I had heard of him. He also has no power over me.

To be very clear, Tucker Carlson didn’t ask Joe and Nancy to say what they said, but they did. He just showed he will report what is actually being said and not overlook something like this. As much as you hate Trump, he never ever asked for the mass incarceration of American Citizens just because he disagreed with them. It doesn’t matter which conservative is in an election, I vote for them because I actually vote my conscience, not hype. There is no programming involved, just a strong belief in God, which is likely the next thing Joe and Nancy will attack.

Tucker Carlson is not a newscaster, he’s an opinion commentator and as such he is going to pick and choose things out of context to support his goal — which is to keep his listeners scared and angry. His show, along with others at Fox, are deeply deceptive when they aren’t simply outright wrong and they know it. But their listeners like being scared and angry so they keep tuning in and walk away with a twisted view of reality — for example, like Alf.

It’s the same strategy Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh have used for years — screaming about twisted and contorted information in order to keep their listeners engaged. In that sense it’s not too different from John Oliver or Stephen Colbert although in those cases they are being transparent about being entertainment and they have the goal of making you think and laugh.

“What’s so bad about being a racist”, my normally great but Quacky neigbor angrily asked.

I thought for a second, as I wasn’t really ready for him or that question, and asked, “How does being a racist benefit you?”

The takeaway is that Tucker Carlson is a threat to society.

Just read U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil’s opinion, leaning heavily on the arguments of Fox’s lawyers: The “‘general tenor’ of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in ‘exaggeration’ and ‘non-literal commentary.’ ”

She wrote: “Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’ about the statement he makes.”

Vyskocil, an appointee of President Trump’s, added, “Whether the Court frames Mr. Carlson’s statements as ‘exaggeration,’ ‘non-literal commentary,’ or simply bloviating for his audience, the conclusion remains the same — the statements are not actionable.”

I assume he means the Right to Bear Arms, that’s the one they’re usually talking about.

Reagan destroyed the rights of Californians to open carry. He also destroyed the right of Americans to own newly-produced machine guns with the 1986 machine gun ban. Trump destroyed the right of Americans to own bump stocks and instituted “Red Flag” laws, allowing law enforcement to seize firearms without due process. Both parties supported the Assault Weapons ban, until they pretended that they didn’t. Trump’s ATF also banned wrist braces, before partially and ambiguously walking it back.

19 people were killed incident to BLM protests. Of those, about half were killed by police or counter-protestors. Another 6 were killed by oppritunistic looters, leaving roughly 4-5, depending on how you define a BLM participant. This was over the course of seven months, in a movement consisting ofbtens of millions of people. That’s a murder rate MUCH lower than the general population.

There is an interesting “fact check” about the meme that Democrats never condemned violence involving BLM protests. It finds that to be incorrect as many have made statements opposing violence on protests. For example “On May 31, the fifth night of demonstrations, former Vice President Joe Biden, the party’s presumptive nominee, wrote in a statement that protesting police brutality is “right and necessary” and the “American response.”
“But burning down communities and needless destruction is not,” Biden wrote. “Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.” https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/08/13/fact-check-democrats-have-condemned-violence-linked-protests/3317862001/

Well, while refuting the claim that Democrats hasn’t condemned the violence, the article (and the Democrats mentioned) confirmed there was violence aplenty to condemn. Of course not in the headlining heated rhetoric triggered by being personally involved as they were in November but still enough to make it clear there was lots of violence.

Also the people listed in the Wikipedia link died of actual in-your-face physical violence. Nothing else is listed. No You know- shooting, beating, burn in fires, etc. Of the five people listed as dying in the Washington attack on the Capitol Building, one police officer died at least of possible assault although there is no confirmation of any injury as of two weeks after, one was shot by police and and the rest were protesters who “had a medical incident”while involved in protesting.

As for generalized mayhem, hundreds of millions ( maybe a billion or two) in property claim damage have happened.

I’m curious, in what way is the US “great” that Democrats are going to change?

Maybe we’re great because we’re leading the world in COVID deaths?

Perhaps we’re great because we’re the leading cause of climate change on a per capita basis?

I know! We’re great because we’re the ONLY developed country without universal health care!

Oh wait, I forgot about leading the developed countries in gun violence, maybe that makes us great.

Damn, so much to choose from.

Seriously, this country is great because we have the freedom to express our ideas and opinions without worrying about going to prison for them. At least as long as those ideas don’t involve violence or overthrowing the government that is. We have the freedom to love whoever we choose to without worrying about prison or death because of it. We have the freedom to worship whoever or whatever floats our boats. We have the freedom (most times anyway) to move around the country and to leave it if we desire.

None of that is going to change. The only thing changing thus far is that we’re starting to actually have a plan for dealing with COVID and the rest of the world is breathing a sigh of relief that they don’t have to deal with what Rex Tillerson, former Secretary of State, who called DJT a “fucking moron” about foreign affairs.

Honestly, if I never have to read or hear about that narcissistic idiot’s name ever again, it’ll be just fine. His just reward is to be ignored and forgotten — that’ll hurt him worse than anything.

One of the things not great about America that we are promised will get even worse is the outright slaughter of children through abortion, yet we are not allowing abortion of murderers, rapists and other violent criminals who actually were allowed to live and make bad choices. Also, by refusing to recognize America as a Sovereign Nation and force immigrants to either come legally or go home, our greatness is nonexistent. It is 100% unamerican to join multi-country organizations that are allowed to have an equal voice without equal financial responsibility, in which the United States pays billions and other countries pay pennies. And yes, laws against the right to defend myself and my family with any weapon I choose is a freedom I would be willing to die for, because criminals should have no rights while in the commission of a crime.

There are hundreds of differences between Democrats and Republicans that are far less important which can be discussed, and likely a few more that are as important as the ones I listed above. However, America is the greatest country in the world and needs to be kept that way.

These disagreements are just that, disagreements. None of them need violent protests. It’s a choice whether to show love or hate in all disagreements. Violence is the choice to hate.

Calling abortion “the outright slaughter of children” is a religious belief. As such, while you are free to believe that, you aren’t free to force that belief onto others. You wouldn’t want someone to force the religious laws of any other belief system on you so refrain from trying to impose yours onto others.

My personal view is that we should do everything we can to make the need for choosing abortion as rare as possible because it isn’t a pleasant experience to go through. This would mean making contraception readily available to everyone who wants it (including insurance coverage for it) and making sure things like the “morning after” pill are readily available — things most anti-abortion groups also oppose.

The US is part of the world — we are entangled with all of the other countries by trade, by environment, by the information network. Being part of organizations like the U.N. and N.A.T.O means we have a voice in what goes on in the rest of the world — because that affects us — and the rest of the world has a voice in what we do — because that affects them. Since we were about 40% of the global GDP we are of course going to bear an outsized portion of the cost to run those organization. It also gave us a more prominent voice in those groups because of the funds we contributed. Isolationism is ultimately foolish and stagnating, just look at North Korea as the prime example of that.

I agree that we can disagree without violence. Not all protests are violent and when violence does erupt it should be handled swiftly and with all due force of law.
