Multiple Community Complaints Into Drug Activity at Fortuna Apartment Leads to Charges Against Two

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF). The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On January 15th, 2021 special agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF), with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), served a search warrant on three subjects, as well as a probation search on two additional subjects in the City of Fortuna. All five subjects were associated to an apartment in the 500 block of 16th St. in Fortuna. As a result of these searches agents located the following evidence:

    • 11 ounces of methamphetamine (approx. ¾ pound)
    • 2.3 grams fentanyl
    • 1ounce of fake heroin (designed to look real)

As a result of this investigation HCDTF will be forwarding charges against Alex Calvert (27 years old from Santa Maria) to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for the following charge:

 

    • H&S 11378 Possession of methamphetamine for sale

HCDTF will be forwarding the following misdemeanor charges against Kaira Hermes Lavasseur (27 years old from Mad River):

 

    • H&S 11377 Possession of methamphetamine
    • H&S 11350 Possession of a controlled substance

      This investigation was the result of multiple community complaints into drug activity at the associated apartment.

Kaira following in her Mom’s footsteps … I feel sorry for her babies , wonder where they were while mom and dad were in this well known drug house .

I don’t even know what’s worse, fake heroin and all the bullshit, deception, and certain consequences that involves… or the real stuff. WTF? I guess if he’s not from around here, he figured he could rip people off, then disappear. But what about the woman?

Fake heroin is worse. People shoot that stuff up, it causes enough problems when it’s real. If it’s fake, depending on what it’s made of, it could kill an addict from blood poisoning. That’s a terrible thing
