Eureka Mayor Susan Seaman Talks About Being Moved to the Purple Tier

This is a press release from the City of Eureka:

Hello. I’m Mayor Susan Seaman.  The City of Eureka is continuing our commitment to support the health and well-being of our citizens, our community, and our economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week when I wrote my address, the insurgence at the Capitol was still fresh. Purposefully, I kept my tone measured as I talked about it, although I was feeling anger and disbelief over what I had just seen. A week has passed, and I continue to feel a heavy weight over the divisiveness and anger that continues to be stoked throughout the country. I’m also concerned about what the next week will bring. I’m grateful to know that we have a committed team at the City, and EPD is prepared to protect our community members’ ability to peacefully protest, but also hold people accountable if they are using force, fear, or violence to upend democracy.

We’ve also moved to the purple tier this week, and even though we expected it, I’ll admit, I haven’t been in a great mood. I’ve been impatient and distracted, and just tired. I say this to let you know that if you’re feeling that way, you’re not alone. For about nine months, we have been going through pervasive stress sprinkled with periods of tumult. We don’t have to be okay with it all the time. It can get overwhelming if we just sit in that space too long, though. Fortunately, we live in a pretty great community and if we open ourselves to letting in some of the joy, it’s not hard to find.

One example of that came from a resident who wrote saying she was feeling pretty emotional about missing friends and our local festivals, so she wanted to share a Reddit thread written by a man who fell in love with Eureka after looking at it through the eyes of a local artist. She wanted to remind us about the importance of our local artists and the value they bring to our community. In times like this, our artists are more important than ever. I think about our poet Laureate, David Holper, who is the administrator for the Facebook Page, “Poetry on the Edge” where people can share poetry serving as an outlet to express their feelings, or to read other work and find community in these dark times.

I think about people who create little artistic surprises that others can happen upon—whether it’s a chalk drawing on a sidewalk, a painted rock on the trail, or somebody decorating their bicycle before taking a ride downtown.

I think about those artists who have used this time to become more connected with their roots through traditional arts, by learning a new language, or by capturing stories from family members.

Creativity and inspiration are essential to help make times like this bearable. We are so fortunate to live among such a variety of artists who make our community one that is so wealthy with culture and beauty.

So, despite a rough start to the year, we still have so much to celebrate. That includes celebrating each other for being conscious about how we can keep the spread of COVID 19 to a minimum. Please continue to follow the protocol as put forth by the County Department of Public Health. Remember that now that we are in the purple tier, restaurants, family entertainment, and places of worship will be open outdoors only. This is the time when our restaurants can really use our support, so if you eat outside or pick up for takeout, be sure to take a picture and use the hashtags #DineOutHumboldt and #DineOutEureka. Hopefully, by doing that, you can encourage others to join you. Bars and breweries that do not serve food will be closed and offices should operate remotely. Most stores will only be open to 25% capacity.

Get tested periodically. It gives Public Health a chance to catch cases early and limit the spread of COVID-19. Limit your exposure by staying home as much as possible or taking care of business during non-peak times.  Plan how you will respond if somebody in your household gets sick. Where will they stay and how will you move around the house and avoid exposure? Talk about it with your kids so they are not surprised if somebody does have to stay separated. And, if you do find you have COVID, please be honest with the Department of Public Health about contacts you have had to make it easier to trace outbreaks.

Again, I’m Mayor Susan Seaman, and I appreciate everybody’s commitment to keeping us healthy. Please continue to practice good habits, wash your hands, wear a mask, practice social distancing. Be patient with yourself and kind to your neighbors and family. We’ll get through this. And we’ll talk again soon.

Boebert tweeted out Pelosi’s location during the capital building breach.

Per multiple sources familiar with Monday’s call, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler(R-Wash.) got into a heated exchange with first-year Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), raising concerns that Boebert risked lawmakers’ safety by tweeting their location during the lockdown.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) also raised concerns about Boebert’s tweets.

Makes me wonder if the new Colorado Quack the one giving insider tours of the Capital building the day before the breach?

What size do you wear?

“We saw Congressman Boebert taking a group of people for a tour sometime after the 3rd and before the 6th,” Cohen remarked on CNN. His memory was triggered by Rep. John Yarmuth, who witnessed the alleged tours with Cohen.

“She had a large group with her …It was pretty clear that her team is the team…she is not on the home team, she was with the visitors,” he claimed.

Boebert owns a restraint in Colorado called Shooters, where all staff and visiting white supremists are armed.

An oath keeper from Colorado with a distinct 1930s German hairstyle, Robert Geiswein, was arrested today.

Look at this thread with photos of him infront of Boebert’s restaurant.

I wonder where the FBI arrests will stop?

Look at Boebert’s arrest record:

I know you have better sources.

And what’s with the “grow up” thing? You sound angry again.

Here’s a thought: “Anarchist, the source that I am looking at, which is not msm, is statista(or whatnot) and they have listed xxxxx as the number of vvvv”.

See? Nice, polite, respectful. Some of you should give it a try. It gives your argument a little more traction.

Not sure what you are attempting to say trb.

I do know we all love playing with numbers though. The real question for the cdc. john’s Hopkins et al is:

How many have died STRICTLY FROM covid? The cdc has stated 6% of the total.

“All deaths involving covid-19: 335,585” . (“involving”)

6% of that is? Just over 20k died “from” covid-19.

If someone died with cancer and tested positive for covid, they would be counted in that “involving” number. (Possibly as a cancer death as well?)

That would also imply about 179 died FROM covid for the week ending 1/09/2021. (per cdc)

Numbers are tricky(or trickery?).

Avoiding divisiveness lasted about a week. If this is the worst she sees, she is lucky. She must have missed the Minneapolis riots. Or the Seattle ones. Or the LA ones. The late 1960s and early 1970s were much more violent. What really happens was a few violently broke the front door and a couple of windows of the Capitol Building
then some more walked around making a mess and taking pictures of themselves. Not exactly an armed “insurrection” meriting all the subsequent outage. No fires, no barricades, no turned over or torched police cars, no stores looted. no statues toppled- not even any spray paint. The only shots or gas being from the police. And outside a bunch of the “mob” arguing with the few breaking in, trying to stop them. And the press of course by only where there was some action to film.

As to the “five who died in the riot”, one a Trump supporter was shot by the police, three were Trump supporters who had “medical emergencies” and one police officer injured who later died of yet undisclosed causes. Yet the media headlines do not spend much space elaborating the details. If course everyone then left, got onto their busses and went home. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9123277/Capitol-hill-arrests-victims-wanted-suspects.html

As far as I can tell, about 100 to a hundred and 150 (?) people have been in the building. Although media reports abound, there is very little detail on how many were in the Capitol building, how they left or even if anyone was arrested during in the time they they spent inside. But surely, since no one was apparently arrested inside the building and they were not carried out, it is safe to say they walked out.

Tear gas was apparently used – the congressmen were reported to tweeted about it before noon, which is unlikely isn’t it- maybe different time stamps- but then, according to the timelines published, that was a couple of hours before the rioters made it inside the building and they were still there at 6pm. It’s all very confused. However one think is for sure -the greater mass of protesters did not enter the building and left under their own power.

Thank you! I surely don’t condone the actions of the mob. But I am loathe to buy in to hyped presentation by the anti-Trump media and emotionally-driven Trump haters. Yeah- Trump sucks. But please think! Use your brain and don’t just jump on the bandwagon of the newspaper stories! They declared Biden the winner before the full results were in and are pounding in their narrative daily. After recounts and court challenges most of us can agree that Biden won. But I saw many many illiberals stating that Trump deserved no right at all to question results ever, even with margins of 0.5% (which actually automatically call for a recount). The shitshow is coming from both sides. I’m sorry if that hurts. In the Capitol riot- and yes some of those rioters were violent asshole thugs- we are being fed a narrative to make us angry and hateful. I’d like to see real answers- not wording intended to make me jump to conclusions. How did the Capitol policeman get killed? Who gave the order to not give reinforcements ahead of time to the Capitol police?! We all knew it was headed to a dangerous situation- even my stoned hippie neighbors knew. How come the actual people in charge of security allowed themselves to be overwhelmed?!! I’m not a conspiracy nut but it does not add up. Heads should be rolling( that’s just an expression, Kym. Like who compromised the security because that is a treasonous failure).

About as violent as many punk rock shows I went to as a youth.

I didn’t hear much wailing and gnashing of teeth after these friendly interactions by those who had a more righteous cause:

https://siouxcityjournal.com/news/local/photos-damage-to-minneapolis-buildings-in-wake-of-george-floyd-protests/collection_841011d8-1f69-584b-b99e-8640ecbd4945.html#1

…and this isn’t “whataboutism”. Both acts were political terrorism but the Media made very clear which ideal they condone.

And I don’t see how you can’t clearly see that destroying buildings (and yes, I agree, that is terrible) is not the same as breaking into the US Capitol during the confirmation of the election after erecting a gallows while chanting “Hang Mike Pence” and “where’s Nancy?” One is a riot and terrible. The other is the treason and an attempted coup. Literally, there were members of that group last week willing to kill the Vice President of the United States and the Speaker of the House because the President of the United States falsely and repeatedly told them the election had been stolen.

Did Pence, his family and Pelosi have to die before you would count this as a problem for democracy? An attempt to overthrow an election has to be successful before we worry about it?

Also…why wouldn’t the media (and let’s be very clear that large swaths of “the media” weren’t behind the BLM protests) prefer people protesting (mostly peacefully) the very real unnecessary deaths at the hands of police officers than people protesting-most peacefully as far as I can tell at this point–but a portion of them trying to overturn a fair and free election.

If one of my kids dumped over the checker board because his brother was cheating, I would be much more sympathetic than if one of my kids dumped over the board because he lost fairly.

“The other is the treason and an attempted coup”

I’m pretty flabbergasted (love that word) that a small group of violent punks could pull that off.

I thought this country was a little harder to conquer than that. Hope the Chinese military didn’t get wind of this.

(definition of “coup” needs a refresh)

Qshaman was just a spectacle.
Bedazzled much?

The FBI is investigating tons of reports of insider work involved.

To throw a video from Mark Dice as the ‘peak’ of anything other than bullshit is bullshit in itself.

https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Mark_Dice

There are no good reads that I can find yet regarding the real potential of if the mob had reached the votes or Representatives.

Here are a group of videos and information close to a week old showing coordinated efforts by militia and military groups.

All on radios, with plans, and a mission ahead.

The idea of stealing the election and kidnapping Representatives was alive and strong.

Steve Bannon evoked the beaches of Normandy. Michael Flynn drew comparisons to Civil War battlefields and spoke of Americans who died for their country. Roger Stone called it a struggle “between the godly and the godless, between good and evil.” Rudy Giuliani called for “trial by combat.” Ali Alexander said it would be a “knife fight.”

As 2020 faded into 2021, some of President Donald Trump’s most influential supporters — among them members of his inner circle who were in direct contact with the President — spoke in ominous and violent terms about what was coming on January 6.

Uh, seems to me some of you missed the point. The 3-4000 deaths/day represents Covid deaths ALONE! This equates to 1 death from this virus every minute in the US and this number was provided by KHN (Kaiser Health Network). Google it. But then again, if you don’t believe in science, don’t bother. Ignorance is bliss?
……Let’s not even go there with the world wide daily death rate from Covid alone…impossible to calculate.
As a local practicing RN, with over 40 years in healthcare here in Humboldt Co., I am saddened to think of those lost and those who will die in the days, weeks, months, years(!?!?!? Please no!) to come. I dislike being told what to do as well, but I dislike even more watching a person die. So weighing the obvious odds, I have and will continue to wear my PPE on the job and off ( ie mask) so that I don’t transmit this to anyone, including myself. Maybe the story would be different if all of us could be allowed into hospitals to witness the personal tragedies themselves—-the pain, fear and suffering of Covid victims. If that wouldn’t open ones eyes, nothing would. And perhaps this is the real tragedy of the world on everything right now— some people, too many, just don’t give a damn.
It won’t make any difference to me… all medical practitioners will continue to do their very best to save, educate, support and surround our patients with all of the skill and human kindness we can muster every minute of every day. It’s our oath.

I also have worked in healthcare, 40 years, and I am continually astonished by how ignorant our species is, and by how superstitious the partially informed are, and by the level of paranoia prevalent North of San Francisco…

I also put on a mask and gloves, and am now engaged in running PCR CoV-19 testing for a large group of Native Americans.

I am daily amazed by what I read here, and at 4000 deaths/day, that’s 120,000+ per month in this country.

Clearly we need better leadership than we are seeing in Eureka, and a quicker response in vaccination than we have seen in California. Humboldt is actually leading in application of the vaccine, but California is WAY behind…

Hang in there Pretzel.

“The 3-4000 deaths/day represents Covid deaths ALONE! This equates to 1 death from this virus every minute in the US and this number was provided by KHN (Kaiser Health Network). ”

Pretzel, 3-4000/day? Really?

According to the cdc:

“All deaths involving covid 19 for the WEEK ending 1/09/2021: 2,974”

E.g. If you died of liver failure but tested positive for covid you’d be one of those 2,974.

That’s the “involving” part. Now statista on the other hand says “died of” even though they supposedly get their data from the cdc(not entirely accurate).

It’s all about semantics.

But your info is clearly wrong.

You are misunderstanding comorbidities.
I’ll just repeat what I’ve written before.

Look, it’s common to report Comorbidities in deaths: See this about Alzheimers…https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4172655/ Coroners report comorbidities as part of any death record.
How about this report back in June that talked about comorbidities? https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.06.15.20131540v1

It was common knowledge among people who read up on COVID that COVID-19 deaths were more common among people who had underlying health issues. In fact, many of the people on your side reference this by calling for the economy to open up and let the weak and the old stay home.

Look, here’s the form used to fill out all deaths at the CDC. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/dvs/blue_form.pdf It was issued in August of 2004 long before the pandemic. Notice they have a place for the cause of death and then all the contributing causes–the comorbidities?

Here’s a study of suicide and comorbidty. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0165032788900201 These people died of suicide but they had contributing causes.

It is normal to have other causes make someone susceptible to a disease. This is nothing new. But the people who committed suicide who had underlying mental health issues, still died from killing themselves. The people who died of Alzheimer’s still died of Alzheimer’s. And the people who died of COVID, still died of COVID even if they were obese, or asthmatic or diabetic or had pneumonia. Without COVID, in many cases they could have lived for decades longer. If I die of COVID, my death certificate will list obesity as a comorbidity. But I would have probably lived decades longer judging from my family (many are living into their 80’s and are not skinny)

Thanks Kym. I thought I understood comorbidities (though I can’t say it for shite).

Here is a cdc page from the archive, Nov 2020. The part I’m adding here does not exist in Jan 2021 as far as I can tell. No idea why.

“Comorbidities

Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death. The number of deaths with each condition or cause is shown for all deaths and by age groups. For data on comorbidities, Socrata icon Click here to download.”

https://web.archive.org/web/20201127014238/https:/www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm

I’m not completely certain what to make of this but I thought it might support my liver-failure point. As in, if I died of liver failure and tested positive for covid 19 would liver failure be a comorbidity? And if I didn’t apparently have another 1.6 comorbidities, I’d fall in the “below average” category? I also find the “conditions or causes” clause interesting.

I’ll read your links. Much appreciated.

You don’t have to go to the web archive to find that quote. There’s no attempt to hide it. It’s on the CDC’s website every week as they post the latest stats–scroll down to Table 3. Here’s the one for the week 1/4/2020 to 1/9/2021 https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm?fbclid=IwAR3-wrg3tTKK5-9tOHPGAHWFVO3DfslkJ0KsDEPQpWmPbKtp6EsoVV2Qs1Q

It doesn’t support your point. You are misunderstanding their table which shows that people with comorbidities are more likely to die of COVID-19 which isn’t really new for any situation. If you are obese, you are more likely to die when you get cancer, asthma, diabetes etc. That doesn’t mean that you didn’t die because of COVID-19 only that COVID-19 found it easier to kill you.

And because I can’t resist the zombie analogy:
Like I said earlier…

It’s like if its a zombie movie and Tom has a limp.

When the zombies come, Tom is way more likely to die. But the limp didn’t kill him

It just made it easier for the zombies to kill him.

Asthma, diabetes, obesity, etc. didn’t kill the US citizens who have COVID-19 listed on their death certificate. Those underlying health issues just made it easier for COVID-19 to kill them.

In the zombie movie, Tom’s pals don’t yell, “Damn, that leg for killing Tom.” They rightly blame the zombies.

Let’s rightly blame COVID.

Here’s a good article that will help explain the misunderstanding: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article245382320.html

Thanks. For some reason it was not included in the most recent cdc page I was viewing.

I’m only a bit not-in-agreement because I’m still not sure about the “6% died of only covid 19”.

That would mean that 94% died “with covid 19”. Which I imply to mean that they might have died because of covid 19 and, as you suggest, had complications(comorbidities) that helped lead to that outcome OR they might have died with covid 19, as in “testing positive” but in reality from something else foremost.

Do we know for certain which? These deaths had 2.6, on average, other comorbitidities.

E.g. from another cause but after having tested positive for covid 19?

How does my “cancer” or “liver failure” model play out?

I think it still stands, no? If you die “with” covid 19, you are listed in that number, no matter how you actually died. Thus the inflated numbers.

“For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19…”. Maybe I’m not reading this part correctly? The “causes in addition to”.

This implies that someone has died of something else but tested positive for covid. Like my “cancer” or “liver failure” examples.

It’s that 6% that is important because they actually died “from” covid.

Should we rightly blame covid? I don’t know. But I really don’t think so.

I totally get your zombie example. No doubt that has happened. I have lost acquaintances in such a manner. I do not think covid is a “fake virus”.

We know that there have been a few cases that list someone who was in a car wreck with COVID who have been listed in the COVID deaths. Those are fairly rare, according to all that I can find.

However, this last year there have been about 400,000 more deaths than normal. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/14/us/covid-19-death-toll.html That lends credence to the idea that actually there are more COVID deaths than have been yet accounted for. However, there are a few other possible (though in my opinion unlikely) reasons for this jump. The article goes into this.

I don’t think you really provided a response to what I was implying Kym. That’s quite alright, I know you’re busy.

You can understand how using nyt as a source would be like someone else using fox, which again, I hope you would consider unreliable or worse.

There’s no end there.

I’m still interested in that 6% who died because of covid 19. And even more so the other 94% who did not.

Would my cancer or liver failure examples, having tested positive with covid, suddenly become one of those 2974?

From what I’m seeing they would, which again, makes the numbers very tricky to lap up.

As far as the “400,000 more” claim. I’ll look into it more but I did notice on a cdc page I was looking at that California had 22.2k deaths(all causes) in April 2019. In April 2020 California had 25.5k.

According to The CDC, April 2020 was the most deadly month overall from covid. (June 2020 had 23k, All causes)

Here’s the conservative Wall Street Journal: “The Covid-19 Death Toll Is Even Worse Than It Looks
World-wide deaths are running far beyond what would have been expected without the pandemic”

“The recorded death count from the Covid-19 pandemic as of Thursday is nearing 2 million. The true extent is far worse.

More than 2.8 million people have lost their lives due to the pandemic, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of data from 59 countries and jurisdictions. This tally offers the most comprehensive view yet of the pandemic’s global impact. Deaths in these places last year surged more than 12% above average levels.

Less than two-thirds of that surge has been attributed directly to Covid-19. Public-health experts believe that many, if not most, of the additional deaths were directly linked to the disease, particularly early in the pandemic when testing was sparse. Some of those excess deaths came from indirect fallout, from health-care disruptions, people avoiding the hospital and other issues.”

The death form is interesting. How would one go about filling that out in my “liver failure” example.

Died from covid but underlying cause was liver failure?

One of those 2,974?

Thanks. I’m not a conservative but appreciate a different source.

Not sure just them saying it is good enough though. Granted I’m not a subscriber so cannot read the full article.

I didn’t see any sources listed for their “tally”.

It’s a bit like saying the virus has “been proven”. But not showing the research/results.

“Take our word for it”. Which is a hard exercise in mental gymnastic for me.

Is there a 99% survival rate to Covid 19? Is the average age of some dying from the covid 19 virus 84? According to the CDC the US death rate was the same in 2019 as 2020? Is the pandemic a hoax to implode the world economy?

Covid rule breaker camps are starting in Germany. Australians, whom have little deaths and few cases, can’t leave their house or drive a car without a mask. LA won’t allow people to travel 3miles from their home in the coming weeks. Meanwhile China is fully open, and Covid has been magically eradicated. Chinese citizens don’t need the “vaccine.”

Wake up. The modern world will end soon. Harsh Covid lockdown and arrests are weeks away. Aliens will be revealed in 100 or so days that world governments are beholden to. This will mark the end of the modern world and the new world order will appear. We will be under martial law. This is the troop buildups will see at the capitals. Hunger shortages will occur. .The US will have 100mil ppl population in 5years. The vaccine is not a vaccine but a drug to cull the human population by 80 percent. Pray to God. Be prepared. Enjoy these last days of “freedom.”

Exemplary report. Well conceived and illustrated. You should expand your thoughts to a book, a movie! “Creative Paranoia For Beginners”…

Most cases are survived. Old people get slaughtered by nasty viruses. It’s all true…

The vaccine is not a neat poison, it’s a clever approach.

The world gets more complicated, but fortunately, there are sane and sober people to monetize everything. Freedom has to be earned, like respect.

Your lifestyle may not be the same as someone else’s, but, your point of view and the random chains of thought in your brain, it’s the result of neurochemistry, endocrinology, immunochemistry and electric transmission. Sit still and try to figure all that out!

Nobody is plotting to exterminate the population, but they ARE plotting to make a lot of money by selling us stuff!

Namaste, Bob. Happy MLK Day!

There’s not one vaccine, there a dozens of competing vaccines. They are being rolled out gradually, so we’ll have plenty of time to see the effects. You people need to put a little more critical thinking into your crackpot conspiracy theories.

Testing vaccines in the field was the entire point of Warp Speed.

Unless your name is Moncef Slaoui, Carlo de Notaristefani, William Erhardt or Rachel Harrigan, then the point was to increase the value of your portfolio.

I don’t have time to take on everything in your comment, Bob. But this statement is absolutely false, “According to the CDC the US death rate was the same in 2019 as 2020.”

“Preliminary US death statistics show over 3.1 million total deaths in 2020—at least 12% more deaths than in 2019” https://usafacts.org/articles/preliminary-us-death-statistics-more-deaths-in-2020-than-2019-coronavirus-age-flu/

Thankyou to the medical staff that just responded. I would like to say that our population increases 230 k a day worldwide. If you look at covid deaths and compare it to.our national average you can play with those numbers. Its a very small increase. Sonething to be aware of yes. Msybe it can help create a better health care approach. I’m curious if you are ignoring the mental health of our kids, and everyone else. The potential long term effects our new addiction to socialization through 1s and 0s. The lack of human interactions that seems to be escalating. This could be far worse for generations to come. Oh yeah you only believe science. Wait sounds like you don’t really if you can’t see the bigger picture of our overall quality of life or potentially shorter life from mental health issues. I know more people who committed suicide than died from covid. Two people personally.

First off, Thank You so much to Kym Kemp for allowing free speech on this website. Kudos to her and this website for letting people share their political thought without being silenced. A government that seeks to ban it’s political opposition is not a democratic republic but an authoritarian regime.

Does Covid 19 have a 99% survival rate? According to the CDC the US death rate was the same in 2019 as 2020. The average age of someone dying from covid is 84. Masks increase infection. Having a dirty cloth pressed up against my mouth all day is a great way to get sick. Lockdowns don’t work. Spain used harsh military lockdowns and cases went up.

Covid 19 doesn’t kill people with healthy immune systems. The death rate in this country is the same. The lockdown is causing more harm than the virus itself.

The war drum for banning misinformation is rampant. Elected officials have contested election fraud for the last 20 years. There was a 3 month government probe launched by congress investigating if Russia hacked voting machines to rig the presidential election for Trump. Sen. Pelosi Tweeted that Trump stole the election and that it was rigged. After the 17′ inauguration, DC was ravaged for 3 days as Antifa mobs burned and looted city streets while attacking and killing innocent people. There wasn’t a mass call to silence the left and arrest their political leaders.

What is the push to ban disinformation? Alex Jones at infowars.com will most likely be arrested after the Biden inauguration. What is causing the state to be so defensive? What are they trying to hide? If they weren’t afraid of the information the state wouldn’t arrest journalists trying to expose them. Contesting presidential election results has been going on for 20 years.

The largest political march in the history of the US happened on 1/6/21 of one million people. One million people gathered in Washington DC to peacefully protest election fraud. Capital police was half staffed for a normal day when the largest political march in this country’s history was scheduled to arrive. Please understand that the capital hill riots were a massive setup. Confirmed, 100s of antifa posing as trump supporters stormed the capital, along with some provoked trump supporters. Clear video evidence is available at infowars.com and banned.video.

I urge everyone to at least listen to words of infowars.com. Absorb the information and use ones’ critical thinking abilities to see if they think it is true or not. We do not have many days of normal left. Harsh Covid lockdowns are coming. There will be false flag attacks carried out at state capitals to justify the mass rounding up of republicans and to further militarize state capitals.

30,000 troops are now amassed at the US capital. There are 3,000 US troops in Afghanistan. Tanks, armored vehicles, Patriot missiles, a fighter wing squadron among others are in DC. This is an invasion force. Sure the story is to protect against protest, even though half staffed Capital police was able to do the job on the 6th. These troops aren’t leaving after the inauguration. They will be used in the coming weeks to implement harsh martial law style lockdowns.

If there is a 99 % chance of surviving Covid, why should anyone lockdown? If I have a 99% chance of surviving Covid, what would ever make me want to take an experimental drug with mutagenetic technologies? Government keeps selling us on “the end is right around the corner.” But questions arise about the “vaccine” working against variations, and health experts are already saying vaccines will need update shots past the two dose booster once a large mutation appears. Bottom line: more lockdowns, more vaccines. This isn’t life; We are being taken over. This is a world holocaust.

I urge everyone to fight the vaccine; Do not take it for as long as possible. The “vaccine” is only a drug to give us a much harsher reaction to the next covid. Once millions of vaccinated people are exposed to the next Covid, there will be storage containers filled with dead bodies and people dying in stadiums on ventilators. Pray to God. Believe in your spirit. Enjoy these last days of the modern world. Gather as much storable food as possible. My soul can never be taken. Even if someone puts a gun to my head they can’t take my soul. Even if they pull the trigger, they still won’t have my soul. I will never take a vaccine. Be strong. God is love. God bless.

If your mask is getting dirty, maybe you should change it out for a clean one?

There are 30,000 troops in DC because we had an attempted coup 2 weeks ago. Pretty sure it was on TV, maybe you heard about it.

That c-word is being overplayed Geist. You should review it’s definition.

I’m not sure how the “most powerful country in the world” can be taken over by a small group of rowdy/violent punks.

I sure hope it’s not THAT easy.

” The “vaccine” is only a drug to give us a much harsher reaction to the next covid. ”

I share this concern as well Bob Cox. Whether intentional or not, it’s certainly happened before.

Lastly, it is incredibly absurd (insulting?) that one would/could imply that this nurse, and I believe this goes for the majority of medical professionals in general, would ignore the mental health aspects of ALL of the issues facing the world today. Oh please. Do you just assume we don’t have families—-kids, seniors, teens, pregnant daughters…in a rainbow of colors, religious persuasions, occupations, ages, skills, sexual orientations, strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes etc.? Actually, may I be so bold as to entertain the fact that it’s a basic part of our skill set and training to incorporate the whole person___ mind, body and spirit?
Perhaps one should delve more closely into the increasing prevalence of human interactions that appear to be escalating in the areas of racism, inciting violence, rioting, etc. all of which certainly have dire mental consequences…
As far as the vaccine goes, I worry about it ___ like I worry about eating junk food, breathing pollution, ignoring global warming, the risks versus benefits of chemotherapy…the list is endless. Just so you know, you have a choice.

For those who might not have seen this retracted article from johns hopkins newsletter, I highly recommend perusing it’s contents:

https://healthimpactnews.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/11/A-closer-look-at-U.S.-deaths-due-to-COVID-19-The-Johns-Hopkins-News-Letter.pdf

What follows is the response from Yanni Gu, the author, after the retraction. I don’t have a Linkedln account to read it in it’s entirety but here’s a segment:

“On November 22nd, my article titled “A Closer Look at U.S. Deaths due to COVID-19” was published on The News-Letter, a student-run organization at the Johns Hopkins University.

On November 26th – Thanksgiving day – the article is deleted because it was “being used to support false and dangerous inaccuracies about the impact of the pandemic”.

I was genuinely upset when I heard the news. Dr. Genevieve Briand has done a truthful analysis of data directly from the CDC website. I believe in scientific integrity and the objective truth, and so does she.

I personally think it was an unfortunate decision to delete the article, but I understand the editors’ intention in doing so. However for me, the US is a free country, and that is why so many people, including me, have chosen to come here and pursue their education. It is not the media’s job to police society or to make sure that everybody is interpreting news in a certain way.

If we believe that people can make their own educated guess, then our only job is to tell the truth, no matter what effect it might have.

Today, on November 27th, The News-Letter officially posted their reason for retracting the article, stating inaccuracies in the analysis.

I am frustrated at the explanation, and I think it is disrespectful to Dr. Briand’s hard work putting data together and doing an honest analysis. If her analysis was to be contradicted, then at least an equal-level analysis should be done to provide more data and thus a new conclusion. Dr. Briand and her work deserve such respect.

I have received many messages asking the reason for taking the article down, and so I would like to officially express my opinions here. I even got emails saying that thanks to me, people now will not be wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

They called me “a COVID denier and a minimizer” and that I have no idea the damage and the lives cost in me writing such an article.

I was devastated to receive such accusations, but I stand my ground. The goal is never to undermine the effects of COVID-19 but to suggest a possible over-exaggeration in death numbers due to the pandemic.

I dream to become a scientist. I strive for truth and objectivity. And I will continue to do so no matter what other people say about me. At the end of the day, science is science. And it should remain trustworthy and sacred, regardless of the environment.”

Just to be clear, this is “editorially and financially independent, student-run publication.”

They published the following note as well as a link to the article which is still available.

As assistant director for the Master’s in Applied Economics program at Hopkins, Briand is neither a medical professional nor a disease researcher. At her talk, she herself stated that more research and data are needed to understand the effects of COVID-19 in the U.S.

Briand was quoted in the article as saying, “All of this points to no evidence that COVID-19 created any excess deaths. Total death numbers are not above normal death numbers.” This claim is incorrect and does not take into account the spike in raw death count from all causes compared to previous years. According to the CDC, there have been almost 300,000 excess deaths due to COVID-19. Additionally, Briand presented data of total U.S. deaths in comparison to COVID-19-related deaths as a proportion percentage, which trivializes the repercussions of the pandemic. This evidence does not disprove the severity of COVID-19; an increase in excess deaths is not represented in these proportionalities because they are offered as percentages, not raw numbers.

Briand also claimed in her analysis that deaths due to heart diseases, respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia may be incorrectly categorized as COVID-19-related deaths. However, COVID-19 disproportionately affects those with preexisting conditions, so those with those underlying conditions are statistically more likely to be severely affected and die from the virus.

Quite frankly, I tried realllllllyyyyy hard to contain myself and not respond to anything having to do with anything…
I’m so happy you are a student with a lot of learning ahead of you.
I’m feeling really enlightened by the off the cuff expertise of a woman who is an assistant director of economics, ___don’t care if she is affiliated with any name school/institution _just know her info is as relevant as Azar’s. One thing you really need to understand about validating your opinion is that you can find an advocate or supporting information for ANY opinion you choose to put out there, or you can follow POTUS and just make it up…….so I try not to go there, but, like you, I just can’t help myself. Won’t do it again.
Let’s put her way up there on the list of relevant contributors to enhancing knowledge about anything other than (perhaps, but doubtful) money. We certainly understand that she knows what she’s talking about (Like Scooby “”Huh?!?!) and we know that $ TRUMPS everything. Sorry. Not. Yet. Perhaps she should have a long sit down talk with Bix on the benefits of bleach consumption for ANYTHING; de Vos on the righteousness of funding private over public education, screwing teachers and those with student loans (how’s it going Huffman, Laughlin etc. ___bye bye Betsy, at least you had the decency to resign); McConnell on how to face a sinking ship and the last minute attempts at survival techniques, ….
Oh how the beat goes on.
You are not reinventing the wheel here, but I admire your spirit.
Good luck,
Hopefully, for the rest of us, you’ll really need it…
So sorry you have been threatened, at least you or your loved ones haven’t been shot because you are white. So am I, and I KNOW it’s been a privilege.
Oh, by the way, a really nice guy who had a food truck here died of Covid complications recently. Perhaps contributing to his Go Fund Me page would be a start, but then again, he wasn’t white…
I resign. Deaf ears don’t hear, and, as an RN, I am well aware of that.
