The Humboldt Crabs, Arcata’s beloved collegiate summer baseball team that often pushes players on to the pros, have been scheduling games in the hopes that they’ll be able to come back strong in 2021.

Their 2020 season, which would have been the 76th consecutive year of Crabs baseball, was derailed by the pandemic.

“(Online) streaming is something we are looking into,” Crabs Board President David Sharp told Humboldt Last Week. “The fan experience is critical to our success. How that experience will look in June and July is unclear but we are looking at all aspects from ticketing to distancing to concessions and everything in between, with an emphasis on safety.”

Go Crabs! If you listen closely enough you can almost hear the Crab Grass Band playing a celebratory tune.

Episode Description:

Netflix’s ‘Big Mouth,’ a Crabs baseball update, mega mushrooms, another gingerbread masterpiece, Guy Fieri appreciation, our coastline takes another life, birds, needles, a butterknife, kindness, and more.

This was a very entertaining listen. Crabs stream sounds good. The shorebird info was interesting. Lots of heads up tidbits. Thanks.
