Gingerbread replica of $1.1M Pink Lady drops jaws worldwide
In the latest episode of Humboldt Last Week
Recently a stunning and detailed version of the Pink Lady home in Eureka was crafted as a gingerbread house.
The jaw-dropping edible house, which according to the artist took about 80 hours to craft, went semi-viral on Reddit’s “baking” section with several thousands of interactions worldwide.
The artist, u/mmhdunn, says they’re not a Humboldt County local but rather a huge fan of architecture.
“That’s a real house?” asked one commenter. “Looks exactly like the (‘Coraline’) house…”
“This isn’t food anymore but edible art, how many years of experience do you have?” asked another. “150? This is really nice.”
You can check out some interesting tidbits about the Pink Lady, which according to Trulia recently sold for $1.1M, here.
Have you been working on any crafty edibles yourself? We’d love to see what you’ve made in the comments.

Update (12.7.20)
We’ve received more information from the Denver-based artist behind this beautiful Pink Lady replica.
“I’m just a big fan of baking and Victorian architecture, and the Pink Lady was a perfect source of inspiration for me,” said Morgan Hamatake. “I sketch and draft my houses by hand before baking and building.”
You can follow her and check out more of her work here.

wonderful ! Happy holidays.
Lots of fiddling while Rome burns. Constitutional crisis with the election mass fraud and we get gingerbread houses. Merry Christmas, [edit]! They hate Christmas! Frosted hippycrites.
Your hate becomes you, Mr. Grinch. Why not find something positive in your world instead?
There is a tunnel that runs from the Carson Mansion to the Pink Lady. Pretty cool.
I put up my Christmas tree the day after I voted for Joe. Merry Christmas you filthy animals!
Trump is the crisis. The Constitution will be fine. [edit]
Merry Christmas…
What a bunch of BS. Merry Christmas Scrooge.
Benjamin
What is wrong with you? It’s beautiful no matter what your politics are.
Not too worried about all that right now. what I would like to know is the back story that nobody will talk about of the “missing” lady and child the other day near confusion hill
Sounds like the “missing lady” was intoxicated, crashed her car, and then went into hiding for 3 days to make sure all the alcohol/drugs were out of her system. Kinda weird she magically turned up 3 days later and claimed she was in a spot that people had already searched.. there’s a couple of articles on it.
Don’t be a jerk Benjamin Martin, shut off the Fox news… 👎
That is so cool. The patience involved is admirable. I’ve made gingerbread houses before and that was a lot of work. Can’t imagine.
Also, always loved the Pink Lady more than the Carson mansion. The Carson mansion always seemed more brooding and somber. The Pink Lady was a wonderful counterpoint to that. Like a dainty pink iced pastry next to a big hunk of broiled beef with bones poking out.
But the Pink Lady glances at that Manly Mansion and blushes.
LOL….I like that.
Part of me always did think of them as husband and wife.
Yes, except he built it for his daughter….
Oh I know that. I’m just talking about the actual structures. When you’re a little kid (when I first remember them) and you see the two, that thought stays with you, well me.
Also, at the time, the Ingomar Club basically had a sign outside that said “no girls allowed”. Seriously, no women were allowed in the building, except on rare occasions. Including civic leaders that were women. I especially remember it because my grandmother, who was a member of the BPW in town thought that was such BS. So that building will always be male to me.
Hopefully the new owner(s) of the Pink Lady will take good care of her.
And that gingerbread house is incredible.
Nice.
Very nice! I made the Pink Lady’s next door neighbor this year (the Carson Mansion)
WOw! That’s amazing.
Jesus Horacio Christ on a peppermint popsicle stick!
That beats Pink Lady AND Battlestar Galactica.
Well done, Sir or Madame.
Is that gingerbread? That is amazing!
Incr-edible!
OMG so gorgeous!!
Fantastic.
I sincerely admire the talent, and certainly the patience.
