Good job LEOs. Citizens helped to make this happen. Now PLEASE…lets bring Kadijah home for her mama Connie before the year ends. Folks flat out have the information. Covelo nor its people can not begin to heal until the unresolved crimes are dealt with. Too many missing folks. It is time for something different. Make a brighter future for the kids. Stop supporting division and hate. We can’t change what actions dead people have done. Only the live can do the work. The emotionally, physically and spiritually alive. Cleaning up the valley has many, many layers too it. No one can do it alone. ❤💡🙏

“Stop supporting division and hate” what a virtuous, liberal thing to say. At the same time dismissing the fact that democratic policy is why Covelo and the rest of the state is a crime-infested shithole!!

The division and hate on the Rez has been there long before our modern “liberalism”. Rural and lacking in law enforcement is prime breeding ground for criminals, sprinkle in the illusion of being sovereign and you have the trifecta

How this gies is…real conversation with Covelo residents. They were talking about the struggle to connect to better. Asked if connected with some local offices for support. I will not 100% blast em. Reply I get is …”Oh NO I cant do that the director hates my family. We aint allowed to get services. They deny us.” The driector’s auntie screwed my grandpa back in the day. They have all been passed now 20 years or more. That was some 60+ years ago and that blood is still, tragically tainted today.

It’s a real problem when local government can’t transcend clan rivalries. It’s paralyzing.

I agree with Mike . This Covelo stuff goes way, way back. There are native clans out there that have been going at it for a hundred years or more.
Every now and then someone would be shot or stabbed and mostly everyone except the cleanup crew would stay on the porch for a while, ’till things ironed out. That system worked until the hard drugs became popular.
Things went haywire when the youngsters quit listening to their elders because they were high and didn’t give a shit any more, and were allowed to be molded by our illustrious state mentors into what they are today; GENERATION SCREWED.
Generation Screwed accepted fallacies put forth by Mexican gangsters claiming to be “Native American too”, so now a bunch of illegals were shacking with the girls on the Rez, manufacturing and selling drugs while supplementing their livings with Indian money. Kalifornia legislators and Generation Screwed call it Sanctuary.

Addiction does not discriminate , at the same time don’t blame animal , behavior ,cold blooded murder all on drugs, that is bs ,I have know many addicts and have used drugs myself and a sane, caring HUMAN BEING DOES NOT MURDER AND TORTURE ANOTHER HUMAN BEING ! A Decent and sane person does not get high and torture a human being period. Someone who tortures and murders another living thing human or otherwise has a serious defect ,they are missing ,heart, conscience and basic human kindness . If someone I hate was on fire I would put out the fire , seeing another human being suffer and not trying to alleviate their pain is unnatural and inhuman as well as cruel and sadistic. .

The US Marshals were involved so they were tracking her cell phone with a Pen, Tap, and Trace. It would be interesting to know where in Richmond JP Joaquin was arrested. Almost certainly gang-affiliated. Don’t be surprised if the feds get involved and drop a RICO on these folks.

It’s rude but they apparently had a rep as lowlife hustlers and thieves, and that may have had something to do with their demise. Victims as pure as the wind-driven snow are not the majority.

These aren`t the highest IQ crew out there; however, you`d think they would have enough sense to wrap their cell phone in foil or put it in a steel paint can so it couldn`t be tracked.

When do we get to hear the details of this? “Brutal murder”; “torture”; sadism & revenge” — we`re eagerly anticipating all the details. (At least those of us who are a bit warped)

Someone should write a book “Mayhem in Mendocino”. There have been a lot of creative and spectacular crimes & murder, seemingly more than would be expected in a rural area of great natural beauty. I`ve thought a good business would be a crime scene tour of the North Coast. The bus would drive around to the scene of each crime while the tour guide narrated the details. There could be a large screen TV where each crime would be graphically depicted by animated figures.

There is the adage — when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. There is no shortage of degeneracy, crime, violence and mayhem, so let`s capitalize on it.

Great idea! They could call the book ‘Murder Mountain’ and tell a very dubious, thinly sourced tale that makes Mendo look like a bunch of violent, drugged out rednecks. The tour buses will be packed!

Am I the only one who thinks the term “The Covelo Six” is entirely too dramatic and bordering on silly? Jesus Christ, c’mon this isn’t MS-13 we’re talking about. I groan every time I read it. Who came up with that? Yes, these guys are certainly a bunch of nasty tweakers, but as killers, I’m sorry, they are bush league, and it shows in their sloppy actions. Why give them so much juice. Selling the story, I guess, huh. Oh well. That’s show biz.

The term “Covelo Six” is mathematically accurate and the viciousness of the murders is worthy of MS-13.

In my opinion, I didn’t like the terminology either.

‘Group of alleged murderers’ sounds better to me.

It was becoming popular to not name criminals in public mass shootings (remember those before Covid!).

I agree with that approach and think that ‘Covelo Six’ almost builds up this groups image or popularity in similar circles.

On another note, I’m glad all of these folks were arrested and hope some justice is served to where it belongs.

Thanks for proving my point!

Shooting someone in the leg and driving them around for a few hours sounds like borderline, if not outright torture to me.

By the way, that “confessed murderer” is still out free because of your buddies.

There has to be someone if not many, who agree that as horrific and as equally (almost) “normal’ this type of crime has become, that there are parents, siblings, children who will look to the outsiders and our comments, for how they should feel. This is not to discount the accused or to disguise the reality of the company the victims kept or associated with. This is purely a matter of tact and regard for those that may be further impacted negatively by shallow and insensitive comments. Every action has a reaction or response (cause and effect). So, as much as I’d like to “let loose” of my lips and talk some wild shit about ppl I don’t even know, I’ll part with this: I know the family of one of the victims. They are not tragically bad or even close to it. They are not tweakers or lawless or any of the before mentioned. All involved have family. They all deserve some regard to the loss and suffering they are inevitably feeling. Our ability to react with some restraint so to not further the pain is having decency.
Happy holidays to you and yours.. love your children.
