[UPDATE 9:13 a.m.] Vehicle Went Off Hwy 101 Near Cummings
A Nissan Maxima went off Hwy 101 south of Cummings and north of Laytonville at approximately mile marker 82 this morning, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.
About 8:37 a.m., a Mendocino County deputy called in the report of the accident saying that the vehicle was about 50 feet over the embankment. But, by 8:43 a.m., the deputy had pulled the driver out of the Maxima.
The crash is now being reported as a minor injury accident.
UPDATE 9:13 a.m.: The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page reports that the Maxima is 75-90 feet down the embankment, on its roof, with only one good tire.

According to the CHP the car had only one good tire. Were the other three bald or damaged by going over the bank? Road a little icy, going too fast, etc. Just glad the driver only received minor injuries. Drive safe in the sheltered areas on that highway, and on bridges that are the first to freeze over.
Usually that means that the tires were damaged in the crash.
Kym, thank you for the info on the tires.
Glad to help, Martin.
Lack of matenice
CHP usually reports the condition of the tires so the tow company knows what kind trucks to bring for the tow either a flatbed or regular tow truck
