Local Photographer Has Arranged With Santa to Provide Photos of Your Child’s Letter in His Hands

Not feeling the Christmas spirit? Well, that’s because you don’t know photographer Sandi Petersen who used to write for this website. When she gets sad, she decides the solution is to give something.

This season she’s arranged for Santa to sit for photos with the letters children wrote him–and she’s doing it for free. Your child can be assured that even if Grandma can’t come over, Santa has his or her letter and is checking it twice.

According to Sandi, “With all the negative Covid stuff going around, it’s hard to get excited for the holidays. I know personally I’m struggling to find the magic in anything – as I’m angry, frustrated and losing hope this is ever going to end. I worry for everyone.”

Sandi explained that she decided to change her attitude by helping kids. She wrote,

I wanted to see what I could do to help out and bring some of that magic back by helping kids out with Santa. One of my friends had me composite a letter (written by her daughter), to Santa into a Santa photo I purchased. She then showed her daughter to let her know that even Covid couldn’t take away Santa. This small act helped her daughter to once again get some of that spirit and excitement back ❤.

Some of you may think this is silly and some of you may understand. We all need a little Christmas spirit right now. Over the next few weeks, feel free to send me a photo of your kiddo’s letter to Santa. I’d be happy to Photoshop it into a Santa picture, free of charge. At this point, please send photos of letters only.

After I create your photo, I’ll post it in an album so everyone can take a look at it and get a little joy. You’ll also be able to download it at no cost.

I can’t do much to help make things better, but I want to do something.

Help your child send his or her letter via Facebook messenger to Sandi Petersen Photography.

If you want to get extra Christmassy, take your child to mail their letter at the magic red mail box on Gross Street in Eureka.

Traci Day tells us that there is some extra magic for those willing to travel to the 1200 block of Gross Street in Eureka. She explained, “We have a large Light display and a North Pole mail box. Kids are dropping off their letters and we are forwarding them to Sandi so she can create her magic…Mailing the pics creates even more magic.”

She added, “For safety [the mailbox] is attached to the telephone pole. They don’t even need to get out of the car. Pull up drop the letter in and drive away.”

Sandi, it’s working! We can hear a faint “Merry Christmas” and the shaking of sleigh bells.

Wow, that is great! Thank you! maybe the county fairs can get creative like this before next summer so it is not another bummer and the kids can go back to making crafts for ribbons.
