[UPDATE 11:19 p.m.] Woman Shot in Eureka Tonight; Officers Are Searching for a Silver Honda With Three Young Males

A woman was shot at the Shell Station on 1310 5th Street in Eureka about 10:30 this evening.

According to a witness, the woman was pumping gas, when three young males drove up in a silver sedan. One of the males physically assaulted the woman. Bystanders intervened.

The males drove away from the station. But, as they were leaving, one pointed a handgun out the vehicle’s window and fired one shot which struck the woman in the leg.

According to an Officer Safety Bulletin sent over the scanner, three young men in a silver four door sedan were involved in the shooting. The driver initially was holding the firearm. He is described as a black male, late teens/early twenties, wearing a black hat and dark clothing. The second suspect is described as white male with short dark hair, thin and in his late teens/early twenties and wearing dark shirt and blue jeans. Suspect number three, who was also seen with the firearm, is described as about 5’11” and in his late teens/early twenties. He reportedly has short blond hair with bangs and was seen wearing ripped blue jeans and a red and white checkered shirt.

The vehicle, which is believed to have a dent on the rear passenger side quarter panel, was last seen headed northbound on N Street.
